You missed my point. I'm not against Wii U exclusives by any means, I was just saying that a Wii U exclusive should reasonably be something that you couldn't play on a 3DS, either by utilizing Gamepad exclusive features or the extra horsepower that comes with a home console. Mario Maker uses neither, it looks like something that pretty much anything with a touch screen could run.
Do you know everything about Mario Maker? It's still in development, so probably not.

Well unless they show something that's graphically demanding or does something with the Gamepad that the 3DS touch screen can't do, my point still stands.
I'm a bit confused about the comments related to Mario Maker not using the power of a home console. Look at the following clip at 6:30 and forward - in what way isn't that using the power of a home console?
Here's the deal: the game isn't close to being complete from what we saw. Only two templates with a severely limited palette and no underground and sky areas? They just showed us a working version of the game. I'm certain that there will be a lot more in the game and that it'd take advantage of the Wii U.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
