I liked Fusion Fall because it was a TRUE 3D browser MMO. Games like Clone Wars and Free Realms force you to install something, thus it's platform specific (They obviously support Mac now but still)
Also I can't imagine this would work. It's an open MMO where you can freely talk to people and require a decent internet connection to work.... Both of those things I don't see being good on the 3DS. I mean the 3DS's Internet connection is just Wifi, and probably not high quality Wifi..Any MMO would probably be out of the question unless specifically made for the system and is contained, like Phatasy Star.
And the fact I personally believe friend codes aren't going away (They didn't say they were so to me that means they aren't) means that an MMO would just never happen, unless they used their own servers and Nintendo wasn't so anal. Course even if they could work around that, there's still the connection quality issue.
I mean if they could get it to work that would be awesome though.

MMOs can run on computers that use Wi-fi for their internet connection

@Hardy Are you kidding? In most cases, WiFi is faster than the a person's internet speed. Don't believe me, check the speed of your router, and then check your internet speed here: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/.
Yes, I think that Fusion Fall would be a nice excursion on the Nintendo 3DS! I played the mmo and I appreciate the fact that you don't have to download anything!

hardy actually got a point. If the game requires non stop internet access its not gona happen. I wouldn't aspect mmo kind of games tho. probably next generation.
Its not about the speed of your wireless router/3ds. its about the realibity. wireless has alot of timeouts throught bad signalsif you are not located right besides it. tons of homes got steel/stone walls which interrupts the signal big time. Therefor getting disconnects lag spikes inside mmo's is a pain in the ass. Besides that you cant simple leave your hotspot / home and game on it.
Multiplayer is working well with the 3DS ( or atleast they can let it function well ) because its not the main aspect of the game.
therefor mmo's are out of the picture.
conclusion wireless = unstable solution for constant connection required with games ( mmo's ) atm for nintendo. Its good enought for multiplayer / browsing etc. but as main solution on a game it isn't really.
different protocols atm: B: ds lite ( horrible solution because most routers are not supporting it anymore ) 11mb per second = max ( to slow ) aged protocol. G: beleave the dsi/dsixl has it ( faster solution and stable + throwns in more security options ) 54mb per second = max ( fast enought for these days, but outdated for fiber solutions ) good for adsl/adsl2 and everything under it. N: which is probably gona hit the 3DS ( they wont make the same error again to throwing in a crappy protocol ) which supports i beleave up to 100 mb per seconds. which is atm good enought for fiber solutions
the protocols are backward compathible which means a N protocol can work with a G/B/A protocol ( A = early G protocol ). this doesn't work the other way around.
Protocols need to come from both sides. therefor a router and the 3DS should support the same protocols in order to gain the max advantage of the speed.
But then again, the speed isn't the problem. the realibility is. which is atm just not good enought.
I played Fusion Fall once, but since its an MMO, I never found those types of games to be fun...
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Actually what i ment if the game was devoloped that u could go off and online with a touch of a button
There have been talks for years of MMORPGS on handhelds and it first became a reality in the West with Pocket Legends on the Apple iPad and the East with Maple Story on the Nintendo DS! Seriously, it would be incredible to have Cartoon Network on the Nintendo 3DS along with Dofus, Wakfu and Maple Story.
I haven't played Pocket Legends personally but it looks good and I wonder if now that it has migrated from the iPad to Android devices will it also appear on the 3DS?
I just started playing this game today! It brings back all the good memories of Cartoon Network from when I was younger. However, I don't know if it's a good fit for a handheld. It seems like something that would be on the Playstation 3.
This is a Kid Icarus Wiki I created in late October. It has developed a lot in that time, but it still has a lot of room to grow. Any help you could provide (e.g. fixing typos) would be greatly appreciated!

If you have good wireless tech. But if you look at the DSi, it could barely handle a 2d online menu without taking forever, let alone a full 3D game environment with more than 4 characters.
Yes Wifi is fast, but only when supported by good wireless hardware and good hardware. The 3DS I guarantee WON'T have either of those in terms of running an MMO. Plus we all know friend codes are here to stay which writes off any MMOs.
