Just as I thought, Jools is using the same graphical engine he used for Dementium and Moon. While not an eye candy, I'm sure it will run smoothly like his past games on the DS. Just hope he nails the atmosphere in this one. Will definitely keep an eye out for this game, especially since it has the CPP support added in.
Its rare for the 3DS to get any good gritty games.
The 3D RE games is the best we have.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Looks awesome! Can't wait to hear more of this title. Looks and reminds me of the Silent Hill series. Been waiting for a FPS on 3DS. I have ATV: Wild Ride and play all the time.
Online multiplayer tba, or should I just give up hope for that right now? Not that I'm that big on multiplayer (especially without a signal strength indicator - why did those have to go away again?), but it'd be beyond cool to have a good one of those on 3DS, especially if the graphics are underperforming so RK can focus on other aspects.
^They said it's single-player only. Which sucks, I would've preferred a few lazy maps at the very least.
I hope they add replay value of some sort. That was the biggest downfall of their DS games.
They added a different kind of survival mode for dementium 2, you kill the enemies in the room and you would go to the next room to kill more, the more chapters you are done in story mode, there would be newer rooms with the newer enemies in it. If anything extra hopefully they will add this or a better version of survival mode.

I'm half they didn't. I am sick of developers throwing utterly unnecessary multiplayer into single player games - God of War and Tomb Raider being recent examples.
Waste of time and resources and for horror games especially, damages the atmosphere.
After my experience with Dementium II, I can only imagine that Cult Country is going to be one of my favorites on the 3DS if not my favorite. Renegade Kid has been very impressive with their DS first person games, especially in terms of atmosphere. Dementium II is my 3rd favorite game of all time in part due to just how engrossing its atmosphere is. I'm glad they're sticking to their engine as well and not trying to pursue graphics akin to Revelations. I expect this to be $19.99.

Ironically, here's some (IMO great) news I found.
"They know the game looks like a DS game right now, but they wanted some footage to go with the announcement to set the feel. (The demo is called an "atmosphere" demo and there's basically no gameplay other than walking around the area.) They cited RE Revelations as a fantastic looking game they're striving towards, but also said they likely won't be able to get to that level because of their size."

Screw you.
I hope that as they strive for better graphics, they don't lose strive towards a more engrossing atmosphere. Of course, I shouldn't expect Cult Country to fall into the same issues as Revelations, just as long as they're looking at its graphics and not its execution.

@I-U I wouldn't worry about that. Graphics are part of what make the atmosphere of a game, so I can't help but see it as a good sign that Renegade Kid gets it.
Best thread ever

Where I'm getting at is, in my opinion, they outdid the atmosphere of Revelations in Dementium, Moon and especially Dementium II. How the graphics end up being used is more important than how great the output is, and as games continue to look "better," many of them have lost sight of that idea and I just regard such games as somewhat empty in charm. I hope Cult Country doesn't give me that impression with how it ends up looking later in the year.

I really want a good multiplayer shooter on 3DS. I like Kid Icarus but I think I've exhausted that game and would like something more traditional. Still, this game looks promising.
I've seen a few 3D screenshots, and it looks bad. The sand is layered really thickly so that it is difficult to see, much worse than the 2D screens. And the background is so far back that it too is hard to see behind the many many layers of sand / dust. And the graphics behind it look pretty mediocre.
But hopefully they fix it up~
