So with the price drop and my DS Lite slowly dying, I'm thinking about buying a 3DS. But I haven't quite been sold on it yet. It's great that you can download games onto it and play DS games, but I don't exactly like the region coding and I'm not sure if the 3DS has a lot of games I want.
At the moment, I'm only really interested in OoT, Tales of the Abyss and Kid Icarus, but Abyss and OoT I have on other systems already, so there's not much incentive there. However, like I said before, my DS is dying and I've been thinking about replacing it for a while anyway.
So what should I do? Buy a 3DS or wait on it? If you wanna do game reccs, I'm interested in RPGs, especially action-based like Tales of and Star Ocean, and action/adventure games like Zelda. I don't really like shooters, sports or puzzles.
Well if you want to buy one for $170 and get 20 free games, head over to Best Buy to exploit their 30-day price guarantee thingy, assuming all of those things are valid in Republic Of Korea. If not, well, it can't hurt to wait until there are more games out since there aren't any great deals for you.
I personally love my 3DS, but if you aren't interested in any of the games slated for the holidays, you might wanna just hold out. Still, if you're looking to replace your DS, you might as well. They'll be about the same price as a DSi come august 12.

No Best Buy in Korea. Since the console is region locked I wouldn't get a Korean 3DS anyway, and I don't think the 3DS is even out over here. I'm thinking about importing one from play-asia. It'll be a bit more expensive, but we get free shipping to make up for it anyway.

Well that makes things more complicated. Judging from your avatar, you're a Zelda fan, right? There's Ocarina of Time, now not butt ugly and with a non-buggy Water Temple. I also know you're an RPG fan. There's Tales of the Abyss, which would be good to take on the go. Then there's Devil Survivor Overclocked, which has a bunch of extras and is fully voiced.
I would say either purchase it now for the early sales so you can get the 20 free games. I know they are old but they seem to all be good games. Or just wait and get it at the new price.
But I would get it. There will be a ton of great games coming for it. And don't be afraid to try some of the other games coming out. Like Super Mario 3d Land, Luigi's Mansion 2, Resident Evil Revelations, etc. It has a lot of stuff u can do. 3ds games ds games dsiware 3dsware 3d classics virtual console nintendo video 3d photos music netflix flipnote coming soon internet AR games Comes With Face Raiders I think it's worth it. I know you only like 3 games right now but be willing to try more because there is a couple more good games. Well thats all.
What is this "ambassador" thing? Hmm. I'll have to check out the downloadable DS games. I'm pretty picky about games, so unless they're action or RPG, I don't usually get into them.
There's the ambassador thing people mentioned above. Also, don't forget all the great games that you'll miss if you don't buy one.
Such as...?
Also, it would help if we knew what kinda games you liked, feder. So far we know you like RPGs, Adventure games, and Shooters. Is that it?
EDIT: Ninja'd
First off, what downloadable DS games? Second of all, if you want action, there's Shinobi...and I think that's it. Maybe Snake Eater 3D if you count stealth-action.
Well, I knew about the price drop and free games and all, I just didn't know that was the name of it. It's nearly impossible to be in the gaming world and NOT know of the 3DS price drop... I did look at a Wiki list of downloadable game for the 3DS, but I wasn't too interested in anything I saw... Mostly they're stuff I'm not interested in or already have on my Wii or other systems.
Looking more into the games coming out for the 3DS, I think I'm interested in these titles too: Fantasy Life Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns Lego Harry Potter 5-7 Rune Factory 4
It's just a pity most of the RPGs are either SRPG or dungeon crawlers.
@Mickeymac: I added the kind of games I like at the top, as well as games I dislike. But I'll post them here regardless. I like RPGs, especially action RPGs like Tales and Star Ocean. I also like action/adventure games like Zelda. I dislike puzzle and shooter games. I'm not really into Mario games either.
@feder I know, I wasn't accusing you. It's just that I linked the information you wanted in my first response and you missed it, so I was drawing your attention to it. Anyway, all the free games are either NES or GBA titles. There are no RPGs confirmed but the original Legend of Zelda is one of the freebies, and you said you like that series. That's the lowdown on the Ambassador program.

Well there's that 4 heroes game(I forget the name) Shinobi samurai warriors cave story 3d Kingdom hearts

Oh, it's fine. I probably just overlooked it. Like I said, I knew what happened, but I didn't know that it had a name or anything.
I actually have the original Zelda in both NES form and GCN form, so I am not really interested in that. Mostly I am interested in VC games that I've never played before or never got the chance to own. I WOULD like to get Link's Awakening since I never got the DX version and I hate having to dig up my GBA or GBP and deal with batteries again. But it seems like a lot of the VC games on there I own already, so I'd probably be better off taking the price cut.
Those NES games are so cheap by today's gaming standards that's it's almost a joke. To bad Nintendo doesn't give us a voucher for a free copy of a game like Super Mario 3D Land but we all know that's not happening!
Anyway, RPG's are fine but man there are so many other great reasons to buy a 3DS such as Cave Story 3DS and Mario Kart 7.
