I'm just going to wait for a redesign. I'm kicking my current model to the curb as soon as on is released.

Which will most likely be out in 2 years and will more likely Not feature a second circle pad because all games don't require it for use. Don't you think that there might not be a dual analog revision? I'm also holding out for a revision, but thats for an XL version only. After playing with the DSiXL (Best DS version IMO), I don't care if any handheld would fit in my pocket or look sleek, just make it comfy to use with a large screen and were all set.

The same way the PS3 controller doesn't have two analogs because not all games require both? Or is it the classic controller I'm thinking of... Gamecube maybe?

Yeah, not all games use the gyroscope either. Why isn't there an extra attachment for that?
there will be a redesign and it will have an extra stick. there's no way the 3DS will go through its entire life with the CPPro — it's just there for early adopters.

Early adopters? Like people who got this?

If thats the case I wont be getting it than since I dont deal with Gamestop at all. Isnt that against the law having only one store carry it unless its the stores own brand?

I don't believe so, since my favorite radio station here in Chicago (93WXRT for those who care) released a CD featuring a dozen or so exclusive live versions of mainly indie rock songs only at Target stores. So, chances are it's not illegal but rather it's just bad business sense. More stores with your product = more publicity = more sales = more money, so I'm not sure what Nintendo's thinking on that one.

Actually, I just thought of a reason: Perhaps Nintendo is releasing it only at a specialty video game retailer (Gamestop) so that way they don't generate bad press by ignorant shoppers who happen to casually notice the CCPro in places like Target or Walmart and then think "Really? If they have to add even more stuff to the 3D DS (yes, there are morons who call the 3DS that), it must not be worth it ...," which would decrease sales and encourage more people to smartphone game or grab a Vita. That may explain why they're selling it only at Gamestop.

I actually think a redesign is certain to have it. It was an oversight that it doesn't have one, the attachment is awkward and the competition will have one that is as smooth and comfortable as a home console controller. Redesigns are all about improvements and this one is obvious and it's not expensive to add. In a redesign they can add this while not blocking the cart insert and place the buttons and stick in a more comfortable setting. Unless you have little girl hands the 3DS as isn't that comfortable as is, let alone now having to reach around plastic to reach the right trigger and fumble for the buttons in an unfamiliar way when your thumb comes of this stupid piece of crap. Two sticks is a no brainer on a redesign. They owe it to their following just like they owe it to us to fix the dumb design flaw where it scratches people's widescreen if they close hard or many times. I'm gentle with mine but even if I wasn't I should be able to close the darn thing quickly without worry of scratches. This is a portable device after all. Speaking of portable, how many other portables do you know of with a three hour battery life? Sticks, screen and battery. Get it done Nintendo!

Well whatever the case may be I hope that not too many games use the circle pad add on cause I wont be able to play them if it is true the only Gamestop will sell it.

This makes the most sense out of what I've heard. Plus, Nintendo could just want to cut its losses or test the waters to see if its worth doing a full-blown release.

Anyways, the less people it's available means less sales, less games games that'll use it, and less of a reason for me to buy it.

Better to say that there won't be a dual analog revision than to expect that such a thing will be released, thats how I see it. Yes, I also want dual analogs on my system and I wholeheartedly agree with the statements you've made, but as I said, there might be a possibility that the big N does another stupid decision and opts not to add it in. I don't want to be disappointed again, so I should safely assume that the next revision Won't add a second circle pad, just fix the current system's issues such as the battery, the scratching bottom screen, squeaky buttons, etc. to avoid myself from being kicked in the balls by Nintendo if they unwittingly decide to not make a dual analog revision.

I guess for $20 I'll take it, but the battery thing is gonna annoy me, as I don't usually buy AAA batteries. I know they'll last a long time, but still... And plus, didn't Nintnedo get rid of batteries in their handhelds after the original GBA?

iOS: Sonic CD, Infinity Blade, Arkham City Lockdown, Mega Man X, Chrono Trigger

Well...the Circle Pad Pro is an add on, not a handheld. As you already know, Nintendo still doesn't use traditional batteries for the handhelds.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Got ya. Well, that's certainly not a bad way to look at it but it's not my thing. I expect it and it makes sense. I think they'll deliver. If they don't I'll consider the add down the road sometime. Perhaps they'll redesign it to something a little less mediocre.

The Wiimote uses batteries as well. And yes the GBA was the last handheld to use batteries. With the release of the GBA SP all Nintendo hand helds didnt use regular batteries.

I don't know what you guys are going on about with this redesign stuff. It is way to early for that kind of talk...or is it? I mean, they dropped the price after a few months.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I'm on YouTube.

I promise to not derail threads. Request from theblackdragon

Yes, but a new add-on seems to foreshadow a redesign.

Tch... If Nintendo knew they were gonna want 3rd Party support they shoulda included a second circle pad on the system itself in the first place.... There was enough space for it ta hold, just move the power button to the area of the home, start and select buttons.
Well I assume it'll just take some gettin' use to anyways, and it's for a good price so it seems like a buy to me.
But in my opinion a Nintendo handheld ain't really needa second circle pad, but since Nintendo is actually gettin' up to date with modern technology it should have been added. Adjustin' the camera in 3D Land with the second circle pad woulda been easier than usin' the D-pad, especially if yer movin' at the same time.
But it's Nintendo I love 'em and will always support 'em. (^._^) b (excuse the dialect)
