What level might that be? I'm pretty sure Dark Moon provides a hint to the level unless you're searching for boos and gems.
At the 2nd or 3rd level of the last mansion, no hints or anything and did a lot of searching through out the level but I'm beating the game without any help from the internet.
To be honest, while I agree the frame rate could probably have been better, I never got everyone's love of the C stick controls, and think that to be honest, they'd probably work awfully in this game.
Just because Dark Moon is geared more towards combat than puzzle solving (compared to the original game), and so the quicker pace of the battles might mean that trying to also control the vacuum and Luigi's movement seperately would be in a pain in the backside. Just seems that the first game's system, impressive as it was technically, kind of worked better in battles with one or two enemies in a fairly simple room than against the ten or so enemies at a time some places in Dark Moon feature.
This game was rather easy for me ( I beaten it within 3 days of release) even King boo was SUPER easy.
Dang, you must of spent hours & and hours playing it in those 3 days. I've been playing it for 2 days, and i'm at the end of the 2nd mansion with a few 2 - 2 1/2 hour gaming sessions. Mind you, i got stuck for over 2 hours in Gloomy Mansion A-4.
Yeah the first boss fight was probably the hardest out of them all; mainly because the strategy was hard to figure out. The rest of them were beaten were no difficulty.

Yeah the game could of been better in terms of frame rate but I still found the game to be my personal favorite in terms of graphics (even though graphics doesn't really matter to me but it's the modern world now not the 80's.) The game play to me is top notch perfect. The control still didn't really bother me that much either.
Framerate seemed OK to me... all the animation was very fluid and well done... not to mention the variable lighting and shadows, things I'd never seen the 3DS do before...

Agreed. In fact, I'd go further and say that graphically, it's one of the most impressive games ever released on the 3DS.
@CountWavula: Luigi's Mansion is miles better graphic-wise than kid Icarus Uprising; that game was my previous leader for "best graphics on 3DS"; until I got this game later that year! ...I'd say Ridge Racer 3D even looks better than KI:U... not to say KI:U is bad or anything, though!
The frame rate isn't an issue, it's just that it's sad to see it get a downgrade Vs the Game cube original which was released over 10 years ago, but as we know that amazing stereocopic 3D effect is to blame because it supposably sucks twice the amount of power to run these games, since it's sending two individual images to each eye. You win some, you lose some. But I'd rather get 3D + 30fps Vs 2D +60fps.
As is, you get used to it. It looks fantastic in motion regardless, but the 30fps for super mario 3D land for ex right off the bat was a bit disappointing. Luigi's mansion 2 however is hands down the most beautiful 3DS game i've ever gazed my groovy 'n ghoulish eyes on. Mind you, i still haven't played my copy of Kid Icarus:Uprising.
Edit: Now on the final manion. The 4th boss was actually pretty neat if you're using the gyro controls to aim Luigi's Cannon Kart, I'll have this baby finished up by tomorrow. I don't think i'll be revisiting the stages again to seek down the Boo's that i haven't found or missing jewels though, Has anybody completed this 100%?
I've completed this game 100%. You get a nice shiny effect on the menu if you do so.
Also, did you know the original Luigi's Mansion was gonna be in 3D like the sequel? Yeah. They changed that when the concept wasn't too feasible for the Gamecube.
