Nintendo's site said they completed the repair on Wednesday and it was sent out that day. According to the tracking, it should. E back in my possession on this next Tuesday. That would place it at exactly two weeks since I dropped it off at the UPS store. Sweet!

Just recieved my 3DS! They didn't fix it, they gave me a whole new system! They agreed that it was a problem with how my system was made. All of my saved data has been transferred and my 3DS is shinier than ever! That was exactly two weeks. Thanks to everyone for their advice and fun dialog. I hope this thread helps others in the future.

Lucky your save data transferred correctly. Mine got deleted, but apparently they still have it floating around somewhere and can put it back on if I sent it in...again. Which won't happen until I'm bored of 3D Land and Kart 7 (plus new games when they come out) which I don't anticipate being ever. Not complaining, just saying it's a risk to send in your system.

Oh wow, so it took you about two weeks? I think I am going to start the process today. I've been playing 3D land, and those lines on the side sure have gotten really annoying.

Yea. It kind of sucked not having it for two weeks, but I hit very few road blocks along the way. Just make sure to write an email to customer service. That ensured that the repair was free.

I sent them an email and then they told me to call them, which kinda surprised me. About 20 min later, we set up a free repair. They are going to take a look at it and determine if they should fix it or not. Personally, I am sure they are going to do it for free. Its going to be really hard to say my system has been used improperly. Sure will suck not having my mp3 player for two-three weeks.

wow. im impressed how people can use their systems so badly (or wildly?)

mine doesnt have a single scratch yet and i carry it around amlmost everyday since its launch.
the only scratches taht appeared were from the bottom/top screen and it was fixed with my 360 pads.

this is a very nice piece of machinery, but treat it gently.

I don't know what people are talking about. I have a black 3DS and I have no scratches on my top or bottom screen.

awesome glad to hear that they transfer the saved data and not just the games (I did not want to restart find mii and the downloaded games) I have a scratch on my screen to but it is faint I can't notice it unless there is a glare on the screen so doesn't bug me much just got a screen protector but it looks like its scratching through it almost. Won't send it in till after the holidays

Well I just received my system back from Nintendo. Unlike Shworange, they sent me back the same 3DS. Hopefully I won't have this same problem again but if I do, it shouldn't take too long to show.

I bought my system at launch and for the most part this hasn't been a problem, but the scratches are finally starting to show.
You can clearly see them when the system is turned off, but they're barely visible while I'm using it.
You can see them slightly more with the 3D on than off, but unless they get a lot worse then I'm not going to worry too much about it.
In the end I'm sure I'll end up with a new 3DS with a second circle pad so this only has to last me well until then anyway really.

Not sure if this is just me, but now that my system has been repaired. I feel like the 3D effect feels much more defined and crisp than before. This is probably from me not using my 3DS for about 2 weeks. Super Mario 3D land sure feels and looks a lot clearer.

I now just stick my AR card in between the screens when it's shut. I always have my AR card with me now, and it eliminates the possibility of plastic scratching the top screen. The pressure of the closed 3DS is enough to keep it in place, even when it's in my pocket.

In regards to the 3DS screen scratching problem, I discovered a minor remedy to the problem, i baught a micro fibre cleaning cloth, placed it on the touch screen and closhed the 3DS lid, put it in my carry case and just left it there all day, the scratches were gone and the cloth doesnt seem to of one any damage to the hinge's, its always worth a try for those of you who are worried about the scratching problem, i hope this is of some help!

Question: Did your friends also transfer over and is your friend code still the same? I have 80 friends and would hate to lose them if I sent it in. I to have had this problem for some time now but don't want to send it in yet.
