For the month before the 3DS and Wii U eShops close for new purchases on 27th March, each day we're going to highlight a specific eShop game for one of those consoles and give a short pitch as to why we think it deserves your love and attention — before it's too late. The chance to add these to your library will be gone for good soon and, for one reason or another, these eShop-exclusives are close to our hearts.

Today, Alana nominates the delightful Pushmo World, the sequel to the original 3DS puzzle game.

So, what's it called again?

Pushmo World, or Pullbox World if you live in Europe and Australia. Otherwise known as Hikuosu World in Japan.

Who made it?

Intelligent Systems, which nowadays is perhaps most famous for developing the Fire Emblem series. The developer is a long-standing collaborator with Nintendo, working on the WarioWare series, Paper Mario series, the Advance Wars series... tons of stuff.

Pushmo World was co-developed with Nintendo SPD (of Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven fame).

What's the premise?

It's more Pushmo! There's 250 brand-new puzzles for you to get stuck into, and it's the same good-old Pushmo formula that we grew to know and love over the years. This third game isn't revolutionary, but it capitalises on what makes these games so great.

The GamePad can also be used to create your own levels, and back in the day, the Pushmo Fair let you share these levels with the rest of the world. Sadly, with the end of Miiverse in 2017, that's no more. But that doesn't mean you can't play around and experiment yourself.

There are some new blocks to push and pull in Pushmo World. Some blocks now have a timer that will automatically go back into the wall after a set amount of time. There are colour blocks that, if you push one, all matching colours will also mirror its movements. And other blocks sometimes do the opposite of what you tell them to do.

Why should I play it?

Pushmo is probably one of our favourite puzzle series' on the 3DS and Wii U. It's just so cosy and colourful, and honestly, who doesn't want more of that in this day and age?

There's no wrong place to start in the series, but Pushmo World is a nice, shiny, HD expansion of the 3DS game. The two games make for a nice pair, honestly-- and we'll likely highlight those separately soon enough.

Plus, the puzzles are never too difficult but they do make you think a little bit, so it's a really lovely balance.

How much is it?

$9.99USD / £8.99 / 9,99€, which you can't go wrong with at all. (Editor's Note: We previously mentioned that there was a 40% Platinum Point discount on My Nintendo, which was actually no longer available. We have removed the link and apologise for any confusion)

We'll be back soon with another 3DS or Wii U eShop recommendation as part of this 'Countdown' series. Let us know below if you've already got this in your collection and share your thoughts. Also, feel free to nominate other games — we just might highlight those in the coming days, too.
