Re: Steve Wiebe to Enter the Video Game Hall of Fame

zimm

@Prosody - thanks! I will for sure give Steve a high-five at the event for you guys. oh yeah, also need to mention that Hank beat Billy's score, not Steve's, since Billy had the high score at the time, but actually Hank did obviously beat both scores.
I am a special guest player at the event and I am pretty excited. I went last year and it was incredible!

Re: Steve Wiebe to Enter the Video Game Hall of Fame

zimm

actually, Billy Mitchell will also be inducted, so you might want to fix that. I am trying to get Hank to come, but it is his birthday that week. I thought it would be great to have Billy, Steve, Hank and Ike all there. all we need is Hank to come and that will happen.

Re: Interviews: Readers Ask Steve Wiebe

zimm

awesome interview! great job! thank you Nintendo Life for taking our questions. it really made the whole thing exciting. I love it when websites take questions from the readers for an interview! thank you for doing that!
thanks for taking my question! I am surprised you picked that one, but at least Steve talked about some of my other questions like the hollywoodized King of Kong movie they are making. very cool! only 1 and a half years away!
btw, the Stampede question was not directly from me. it was asked by Brandon Y. LeCroy, the ex-NSMBWii champ! also, during my interview yesterday the photographer brought up Stampede right away. that was the Atari 2600 game that she remembers. so, Steve might be wrong about how many players there are for that game. it was for sure a Stampede day! lol

thanks for doing this! who will you interview next? how about Billy?

Re: Ask Steve Wiebe

zimm

is hollywood still going to make the king of kong fiction movie? if yes, did they find an actor to play you? who is it?

Re: Ask Steve Wiebe

zimm

some questions from the Twin Galaxies members/players:

1. why he's had a camera in his face recording the conversation on the few occasions he's called Bill Mitchell on the phone. (King of Kong)
2. where the Stampede score on the 2600 came from? It seems like he had some other plans at one time or just happened to be in the right place with a 2600 and a ref?
3. Do you play any NES, SNES, Genesis, or any modern games?

Re: Rare NES Game Sells for $41,300 on eBay

zimm

@Wardy - it is over! after 52 bids the winning bid was $800,200!!!!
yeah, it makes me pretty sick, plus where are they getting this kind of cash? I am a collector, but I am a player first. I will never pay more than $50 for a retro game. even $50 is pushing it.
some believe that this game is a fake. stock photos, etc. so, someone might be getting ripped off. but, if it is a fake, with that kind of money I am sure there will be jail time.
NL should really make this into the news story. this one blows the $41,000 out of the water!!

Re: Ask Steve Wiebe

zimm

Will you be at the Inaugural Ceremonies and Gaming Event for the International Video Game Hall of Fame & Museum in Ottumwa Iowa on August 5-8? I am and so will Billy.

Re: Bit.Trip Bug!

zimm

do you need a SD slot in your computer to make the fix work? I know I don't. yup, a bit behind the times. lol but, I am sure there are others who don't have a SD slot for their computer. the fix should have been an update in the Shop Channel, so everyone can get the fix.

I don't need it since I beat the game many times and got high scores. I didn't even know there was a problem.

Re: Wii Storage Solution Solved - Finally A Use For The SD Card Slot!

zimm

@WhoKnew, not me, but I got an error message out of the blue. my first error message ever! said something like "files are corrupted." I turned off the power and back on and so far it works fine. pretty scary though and I was wondering if anyone else had this same error message? if so, I think we might have a lawsuit on our hands. my friend said whenever he sends a wiimail he gets the error mesage, ever sense the update. wtf!!

Re: Review: Bit.Trip: Beat (WiiWare)

zimm

@SmaMan, that "someone" would be me, but I am sure you knew that.

@CommanderVideo, so what were the reasons for no analog control, 3 levels and no leaderboards? just wondering. I am sure it was due to memory. it would have been cool to try the Classic Controller's analog stick on the game. btw, thanks for making a great game! excellent job! oh yeah, is there an easter egg in the game where you can actually play pong? that would have been cool. especially with all of the talk about pong.

Re: Review: Bit.Trip: Beat (WiiWare)

zimm

great game! wish it had "retro" controls though. something analog besides the motion controls. some games I like motion controls, but it always nice to have an option with no motion controls.

wish it was longer, but the 3 levels are long and can get quite hard. wish it had leaderboards or something. add all of that, raise the price and it would be an excellent game! well, maybe for the sequel?

@Jockolantern, I would probably give this a 8 or 9. Gradius Rebirth for sure should get a 9.

Re: DSiWare: Pre-release Roundup

zimm

So, in that video, which is 5 minutes, 3 minutes of it is about the camera? Seems like they really are pushing that part of the system. I am sure most of us want it for the games/DSiWare, but I am really happy that a camera is now part of the system.

Re: Atari 2600 Version of LIT?

zimm

Very cool! I love Atari 2600 homebrew games, especially if they are of computer/arcade games. So, a wiiware game/conversion makes it even more special. I would love to play it one day!

Also, maybe you can let Nintendo know that we want Atari 2600 for the VC service?

Looks like I might have to get Lit now since there are some old school roots in your blood. Not a fan of horror games, but I do enjoy puzzle games.

btw, I am new to the community. Very glad to be here with Smalls, Leg and Corbie.
