Re: Soapbox: Pokémon GO’s ‘Casual’ Influence On The Mainline Series Is A Good Thing, At Least For Now

therealmario101

It felt like a gigantic slap in the face to me. I'm incredibly excited for it, as I love Pokemon, but my interests lye in breeding competitive pokemon to the max, egg moves, iv's, etc. And then shiny hunting those same eggs. The slap in the face? I'm just one of the few that despise Pokemon Go. I'll stay reserved until I see more, but I really need to know that there is a huge competitive breeding aspect with EV/IV's and all included to make me content. Also two people throwing a single Pokeball at one Pokemon really aggitates me, though I'm really looking forward to finally having my friends truly in my world. That said, that feels like it's also setting me up to be disappointed. We'll see I guess :/
Edit: I'm not really into competitive battling at all, I purely enjoy breeding and completion of those Pokemon

Re: Mayo Wins in Splatoon 2's Battle of the Condiments

therealmario101

I played well over 10 hours of this Splatfest, and played against my own teammates 9 times out of 10. What irritated me the most though is that not only did Ketchup win popular vote by a very large landslide, but they only lost regular battles by one single point in North America, I think it was about 49-51 in favor of Mayo, and the catch is that you couldn't do team battles at all and even change the number UNLESS you had 3 OTHER FRIENDS with Nintendo Switch's that ALL happen to choose the same team. I have exactly 3 friends with Switch's, and 3 of us chose the same team, and the one other chose differently, which flat out disabled all of us from playing Teams. I'm bothered by this because teams is taken into account for winning the overall Splatfest. It just felt like a copout to me honestly, since all the K versus K matches (and there were a LOT of them, trust everyone here saying that) counted for absolutely nothing.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Tough Trail Of The Sword DLC Has Been Beaten Already

therealmario101

Also, took a little under an hour and a half to dig out all the new items. This DLC lasts about 3-4 hours total for myself, not including Master Mode. That'll happen eventually. Kinda killed my love for this game by playing it way too much at the start. Also going from Bloodborne and Dark Souls to Zelda, makes Breath of the Wild feel like a cake walk. So that's...that's something. lol

Re: Poll: Who Would You Like To See In Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch?

therealmario101

@VENOMVSCARNAGE Since when is Melee balanced? lmao the meta in that game has been pretty standard for well over a decade now. There's probably more memes about Melee's balance than any other fighting game. That said, I still love it to death, and put way too many hours into it. I get what you mean though, it's much easier to test and balance less than more, but that's a given.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Confirmed for The Game Awards as Gerudo Valley Music Remix Arrives

Gamers who only play shooters are certainly not the definition of "hardcore" by any means. I'm not saying I have the right to dictate what a word means, but I guess my thoughts on the word involve someone who's played video games for the better half of their life. I mean, I've been playing video games since I was in diapers. I only play Nintendo games nowadays, but that does not make me any less of a gamer than someone who owns all 3 consoles.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Hunters (DS)

therealmario101

This game absolutely deserves the 9/10 NL gave it. I grew up really only playing Mario, DK, and Zelda. Very rarely did I have the chance to touch down on series like Star Fox and Metroid. My first Metroid game was Prime 1, and I loved it to death. And then this game....this game revolutionized the way I look at Metroid, it's by far one of my favorite handheld games of all time. Beautiful!

Re: Nintendo Has Nothing to Say About Recent Smash Bros. Video

therealmario101

I'm always disappointed when things get spoiled, but as much as I hate to be THAT girl, I'm going to say it anyways. It was going to get spoiled for all of North America anyways, since Japan is getting it early. So yeah, the only real harm in my opinion was that it was spoiled for Japan, and spoiled a bit earlier than intended for North America. As for avoiding looking at the Japanese release, to avoid spoilers, you should know as well as I do, it'd be impossible to miss it from SOMEONE. Someone would mention it, or a website would write an article about it. OR the Smash site itself will spoil it all before the release ANYWAYS. But like I said, I'm only slightly disappointed by spoilers, so no big deal here. I already had every character I wanted confirmed~

Re: New Super Mario 64 Remix Album is a Work of Musical Art

therealmario101

Most if not ALL of the classic Mario games have an OUTSTANDING soundtrack, this one has always been my favorite, by far. This game alone pushed me to liking video game music as my primary music. Of course, I also loved some older ones, like Donkey Kong Country, and of course the entire Mega Man series.

Re: Video: Prepare To Pour One Out For Sega's Fallen Child Stars

therealmario101

I had to instantly click this thread, I LOVED Kid Chameleon as a kid. I remember liking quite a few mascots when I was very young. The most notable ones I recall: Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, Link, Donkey Kong, Vector Man, Bubsy, Bomberman, Pacman, and I think that wraps up the most notable ones that I played anyways.

Re: Reaction: Our Thoughts on Nintendo's Big Day at E3

therealmario101

"it was OK" and "2nd place"? Are you freaking insane? Yesterday was absolutely positively astounding. Microsoft "AAA" games? Yeah okay, have fun with that. Mean time, I'll be enjoying/counting down the days for the real games that were announced yesterday, and the one that I've been waiting on since it was announced. I'm talking about nothing other than Super Smash Bros. of course. A bundle with a gamecube controller, the game itself, and the adapter? Hell yeah. Nintendo had E3 "won" the second they announced the Smash tourney. That said, the concept of "winning" E3 is stupid in the first place, it all comes down to what company catered to what particular fans interest. Fan A will always disagree with Fan B, and vice-versa, when it comes to who "won", so I wish people would just agree to stop debating such a trivial topic.

Re: GameCube-Style Wii U Controller, the WaveDash, Seeks Kickstarter Funding

therealmario101

Am I the only one who dislikes it when shoulder buttons are referred to as bumpers? I guess its nothing I've ever heard anywhere but on the clearly labeled X-Box controllers. I've always heard them called trigger buttons, or shoulder buttons, or simply L and R. Why in the hell is everyone suddenly calling them bumpers? Forgive me for being salty, but I hold a strong hatred for anything that reminds me of X-Box related stuff.

Re: Nintendo Lifts The Lid On Its Plans For E3 2014

therealmario101

Also, I love how people can never be satisfied. On a site, I thought SHOULD be full of dedicated Nintendo fans, that should be happy with such an awesome video, something the likes of rarely ever happens, people do, always have, and always will, have something to complain about. I guess the people who want to spend 24/7 playing video games just can't be satisfied, regardless. I used to be one of them, but now I'm perfectly satisfied with literally only playing 3-5 games a year. Die hard Nintendo fan here, none the less. And when it comes time for a new Smash game, I can't help but brush off the fangirlism and call people out for acting so...ridiculous on a site that should be full of nothing but Love and Respect.

Re: Insomniac Not Working On Wii U, Considers It More "Current Gen" Than "Next Gen"

therealmario101

@Harrison_Peter Eh, I'm going to have to COMPLETELY disagree with you on Sony being caught up with the big N on exclusives. Though this is my opinion, I'm going to say it anyways. Sony's MAIN exclusive it seems, is Uncharted. I don't know if that's true, but that's just an educated guess. All the games you mentioned, absolute garbage. Nintendo still has the biggest and best titles of all of gaming under their belt as first party titles, and there isn't a company out there that can change that.
