Re: Aonuma: "Future Zelda Games Will Use Motion Controls"

stromboli

Most reviews praised the motion controls of Skyward Sword. It also won that VGA award ahead of all the kinect games. Personally, I loved the motion controls of both Twilight Princess and enjoying immensely the motion controls of Skyward Sword. I love the Wii's motion controls in general, from The Force Unleashed to Red Steel 2, to more underrated titles like Godfather, Indiana Jones etc.

Re: Review: Power Rangers Samurai (DS)

I remember when I was a teen, PR came out, and I thought it was the worst thing ever. It was basically a Transformers for dummies. But this looks nice. I would choose the Wii version. Pretty cool that it's a Nintendo console exclusive. There are lots these under the radar.

Re: There Are How Many Mii Characters Worldwide?

@5 - yeah, you are right lol. James needs to improve his reading comprehension skills. "more than the populations of France, the United Kingdom and Italy or more than Spain and The Netherlands combined.", it's just Spain and The Netherlands combined, or each, separately.

Re: Review: Rayman Origins (Wii)

@MVP. Yeah, me too. It's 'interesting' that people say they prefer the HD version over the 480p edition of the Wii. I mean, aren't there any other differences? For me, the Wii's controller methods are much more comfortable than the PS3 controller for example. They should have made use of the Wii remote speaker too. That's an awesome feature not used much. Anyway, for me 3D trumps HD, so I hope the 3DS version runs smoothly, and since it's portable, it will be the ultimate version.

Re: Nintendo Lists Two-Player Mode for Luigi's Mansion 2

Mario as P2 is genius. There's no reason why they shouldn't do that - it will boost sales. This gotta to be the most anticipated game of 2012 together with Kid Icarus and RE:Revelations. Three AAA games. What else are they planning? Nintendo needs more news of games and NoA needs to at least announce the RPG's for the Wii. And more Wii U news and a release date....

Re: Mario and Skyward Sword Set Series Sales Records

stromboli

Nintendo wins again. Incredible numbers. The Wii is not anywhere near its end also. With these numbers, Nintendo will keep it alive for a long time. More than the PS2. Sure it won't have titles like ZELDA Skyward Sword, those will go to the Wii U, but it will have enough games for people to keep buying the console for some time... making it the best selling console of all time eventually.

Zelda and Mario leave everyone in the dust on the curb ......... !

Re: Pearl Pink 3DS is North America Bound on 4th December

stromboli

Don't have a 3DS yet and I'm hoping they release the white one so I have an excuse that I earned something om waiting this long (except for the price drop). Otherwise, I would just buy the black. Shame. Wish my wife was interested in this and she'd get the pink.

Re: Lock 'N Chase

I have the gameboy version, and it has great music, but.. I can't use it on a GBC so it's not steady black or green, it's a bit tougher on the eyes/shadier but it's still the same game so I won't buy it. I intend to try the Data East Arcade version.

Re: Nintendo Faces More Calls to Embrace Mobile

stromboli

Nintendo is worth about 20 billion dollars. By stopping to produce hardware, it will cut its worth at least in half. Maybe even more. SEGA is worth a quarter of Nintendo. Activision is worth 13 billion. So that's the maximum there. In other words, it will be insane to do that. Now, if it is suggestive that Nintendo will market to both, then it will lose too much money on the hardware, and drop it all-together. Still, they should embrace mini games on facebook or google - that is a good idea.

Re: Review: Sonic Generations (3DS)

Hated what I have seen from the console version. This looks nicer but I'm just not interested in Sonic. I got the Sonic Collection for the Gamecube to play on the Wii for a few bucks and couldn't even enjoy that.

Re: Send Your Friend a Mario Kart 7 Item to Brighten Their Day

Whether you're a fan of this type game or not, with all the portability, and the cuteness, and the 3D, and the on-line, and the beautiful setup of the 3DS... I think this is the best handheld game ever. This is Nintendo at its highest form beating the **** out of their competitors.

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Wii)

stromboli

it's so hilarious to me that as I understand it, MW3 for the PS3 doesn't have Move support... that kills me. Seriously? If there ever was a useless phony peripheral - this is it. I feel sorry for those that have it. I don't mean to suggest that the Wii version is the best. I don't know. The graphics are important. But from my experience in other Modern Warfares for the Wii, the IR controls are superb and a pure joy. Even with Move, it will be inferior to the Wii controls. And it doesn't even support it. Not to mention Kinect. As FPS go, Wii is the console... if I do play them, despite the downgrade in graphics, however significant or not they may be.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)

stromboli

There's no doubt that this should be GOTY. The reviewers gave this a great score, but of course they gave too many other games great score, and will prefer to choose those other options for GOTY. This game though is MILES better than Skyrim, Arkham City (Which I'm waiting for the Wii U version ), and all the other candidates. If it wasn't for general anti Wii/Nintendo bias in the media sucking up to the usual suspects, there wouldn't be any question here.

Re: Rumour: 3DS Video Update Lands on 30th November

stromboli

this is a good ad, that will hopefully win people over. The 3DS is priced incredibly cheap and although there are a couple of cameras and cellphones that can record in 3D (that hardly anyone buys), it's the only real viable marketed product for the masses that can do it. This is a good angle.

Re: Feature: The Revolution of the Wii

stromboli

I love the Wii. I never understood the appeal of the other consoles - I think the Wii is just perfect, with its many diverse games and of course the Virtual Console. Granted, it's been weak for a while in terms of number of games released, so for those gamers with no backlog and that play a lot, it's understandable. For other, waiting for the Wii U seems more than enough, because honestly, having played PS3, the Wii isn't missing a not, definitely not in some 'online something something' that people exaggerate about, and the graphics either are also pretty spectacular on some Wii releases (MH Tri, SMG, RE:DSC etc).
@shingi_70 - don't understand what you said there... The Wii is more powerful than the PS2 obviously, and it's also not true that the 360/PS3 is 10x more powerful than the PS2, at least not in any way that was apparent in terms of games quality.
