Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's 'Relevance' Is About Sales, Nintendo's Strategy Has Remained Consistent

real_gamer

I think the Wii U is fine the way it is. Sure it is not as powerful as the PS4 or XboxOne but it has power in it nonetheless. What I think they did wrong from the start is only show one commercial that focus on the gamepad. Remember the Super Mario Bros. U commercial? Yeah it didn't send the right message at all to consumers. Also the Wii U really didn't have any commercials or marketing backup. Rayman was not a exclusive no more then the Wii U had the drought and Pikmin escaped the launch window and...you see where I am going with this. The Wii U was not handle very well from the start and now Nintendo is in trouble.

Re: Super Mario 3D World Underwhelms on Japanese Chart Début

Did it sold well compare to its low install base? Yes it did. Did it sold well enough for the Wii U to see a bump in sales? No it did not. Sales does matter because that is how Nintendo gets their money to produce new games. Earlier this year they said if the Wii U sales doesn't change they would start looking at the higher up management. Sales does matter people if you want the people in charge not to be in hot water. It also matters because if you truly love Nintendo then you would want everybody to experience it with positive news, not negative news (like that Ntech or whatever they are called putting the Wii U as the 4th worst electronic gift this Christmas to get).

Re: Poll: As the PS4 Arrives, What Do You Think of the 'New Gen' Environment for Wii U?

real_gamer

Nintendo had 1 whole year to get the numbers, one whole year! I love Nintendo but they messed up horribly. The Wii U had little to no promotion and lack of new games to give a reason why to buy a Wii U. I'm hoping Super Mario 3D World will give it a push but console and handheldarket are two different areas. The PS4 and Xbox One has been promoting like crazy and they have way more appeal to the consumers. Nintendo needs a new marketing team and they need to seriously grind.

Re: Iwata Braves Press Conference to Explain Nintendo's Earnings

real_gamer

What started this: confusion in the name, lack of games earlier in the year, same 3rd party games that the PS3/360 has at a more expansive price earlier in the year, lack of commercials.
Solution:more commercial of games and the system, gives the consumers a reason why they should buy a Wii U.

If you disagree that is ok, please be respectable if you reply.

Re: Nintendo UK Preparing Major Advertising Push For Pokémon X & Y and 2DS

real_gamer

It makes sense, the handheld are the hot cakes right now along with the tasty whip cream aka AC and Pokemon X&Y. But what doesn't make sense: where is the advertisement for the Wii U (the million dollar question). Surely Nintendo (in all regions I would presume) know that this system is not selling well. Yes software is needed but what about software without advertisement? You might as well make a movie and put it in the theaters without advertisement.

Re: "No Plans" For Ambassador Program Following Wii U Price Cut

real_gamer

I personally think that a ambassadors program should be put in place for the early Wii U owners. Why? 1) $50.00 is a chunk of money that could have been used for something else (buying another game, buying something for your family, ect,), 2) it is because of the Wii U owners right now that Nintendo even have some sort of sales so why not thank them, and 3) it shows that Nintendo appreciate the loyalty through the good times and the bad times. And I want to emphasize that the Wii U owners could have saved $50.00 so I think it will be great of the Big N to compensate for that.

Re: EA Will "Jump Back In" If Wii U Becomes A "Viable Platform"

real_gamer

It is Nintendo job to sell the Wii U and the Wii U had its ups and downs and I feel that the Big N should have been more prepared hardware and software wise to capture a specific size audience. But alas that is not the case and I can only support and hope that things will def turn for the better.
