@MsJubilee Particularly for those who are not in US... They should at least allow other companies to do the same in other markets. Because I wish I could get the physical version of Return Of The Obra Dinn but not for 90€...
Digital could make games ephemeral in many cases. And I don't like that. The digital market is making art disposable and it affects the perceived value by the costumer. This is exactly why Nintendo games have a pretty consistent price throughout the years. The price might dip at some point but never enough to make the game feel cheap. All that to say, half assed physical games make no sense. Just like boxes with codes. Or those awful "special editions" that are only a pack of goodies (Red Dead Redemption 2 anyone?).
For all my record collectors out there. Can you imagine if you only had half of an album on vinyl and then you had to download the rest? It might sound like a crazy comparison but most of these games can't be used without that first DL. What is the point!? We want the games so we can used when the shut s*** down. I wanna be able to buy a Nintendo Switch when mine is dead and just play when they stop supporting the eShop and or Online services. That's why I barely play online games, because I know I am gonna be bummed if they decide to abandon a platform or service. I hate this.
I'm gonna be honest the bar is reaaaally low for me. I am disappointed almost every time. This console's catalog is all remakes and versions of old @$$ games. We need new IPs and new games from old IPs. Everything is so expected... I almost don't care anymore. It's such a shame...
I hope I am wrong, but I feel this is gonna be extremely underwhelming. I miss the days of that 3DS presentation at E3. That was so exciting... "Those were the daaaaaays!"
Don't want to be negative, but in an effort to be positively surprised I am going to ask you something. Please write down the worst case (realistic) scenario with this Nintendo E3 presentation. Because Nintendo is like a gifted kid that puts the minimum effort and could do so much better in school...
@UmbreonsPapa Word. That only shows the little effort they need to make the console successful. But at least they are not on Electronic Arts' levels of no f***s given. But they most definitely ramp up the game launches. But for once I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with the whole pandemic and all. Let's (once again) hope they do something about it soon. But I am not gonna lie I have so much stuff to play still...
