@Mega_Yarn_Poochy its definitely reassuring to hear that all these indie devs have had a good time working with Nintendo and are most likely planning on returning. I guess old Ninty has learned a thing or two regarding how to treat their talent in the past few months.
I really appreciate Drinkbox for the hard work that they have put into all of their games. They haven't disappointed me yet and i'm really looking forward to what they have up their sleeves for 2017 and the NS!
Man I LOVED this commercial! And you know why? Not because it was an amazing advertisement but because it was WEIRD!
I missed the super weird and unnecessary commercials Ninty did back in the day, specially in the GBA and GameCube era. All those crazy commercials went away with the Wii and Wii U era, all we got were boring clips of happy perfect families playing video games together BLAH! but just the idea of getting dumb crazy commercials for the Switch is super exiting haha.
Bring the quirk back Nintendo! Besides, the masses don't NEED gameplay, all they need is to see Mario on an iPhone and they're set, trust me.
man me and my friends absolutely loved IX! we had so much fun playing through that game. the nostalgia of playing IX will totally be a boost while playing this game, ill probably enjoy it more because apparently this is one of the best in the series and this review did a great job on telling us all the pros and cons. im super exited!
@Anti-Matter yeah exactly, the harder you hit the more color you'll take from the enemy, i think its an awesome idea. its also cool how their facial expressions change as their health gets lower. i know other rpgs do that but not many so its nice to see
Say what you will about this game, you gotta admit this new health gauge system is really charming!
They added such a cool little spin to a long standing staple of gaming. Instead of having a literal health bar, the hit points are represented by how much color an enemy has, its such a nice visual mechanic that ties into the plot.
When you have good mechanics blend seamlessly into the story elements you got yourself good design my friend. =)
The people who are saying this is a blow to Nintendo's dedicated hardware seem to completely ignore the fact that Pokemon GO! was actually a positive move towards 3DS sales!
That app alone managed to get people who would never buy a dedicated Nintendo console to actually get one and buy a Pokemon game at the same time, something that will obviously help the sales of Sun and Moon. Who's to say the same cant happen with Mario and the NX
man i always start this game from the beginning and never finish it oddly enough, and its not that i dont like it because i freaking love it! life just always gets in the way and i have to put this game on pause hahaha
@Jingo_Unchained well the way i see the Mario maker thing, is that Nintendo is making this game kind of like a companion to go along with the main Wii U title. If your on your couch you play the regular MM with all it's bells and whistles and when your out and about you play a slightly downgraded version with the random levels you downloaded prior to leaving the house. I don't think that sounds too bad =)
i think they added a really nice spin to the Mario party formula, i mean completely removing the dice rolls an letting everyone play at the same time is a bold move!
