I'm calling BS on this one. Even though we would all love a good Nintendo console with 4k 60fps capabilities, it doesn't make sense for them at all to go this route. For one, 4k would destroy the battery life and two, that hasn't been Nintendo's strategy for decades now going back to the N64.
They managed to thrive this far on some super dated hardware, I doubt they will be going the "PRO" route and competing with Sony and MS.
Personally I prefer them not to have 4k but instead focus on a consistent 60fps with strong battery life.
That sucks, hopefully someone picks up gearbox, they had some good hits like Borderlands and Brothers in Arms. They definitely have potential to do more just need the right company.
I think they are trying to get rid of their final stock of Switches before the new one is released next year and just rebranding with a Mario themed console.
Usually Japan has much more exciting box art for their games, but personally I love the US/EU one much better in this case, the japan one just shows a bike lol, where the NA/EU one actually shows something exciting happening… Makes perfect sense for this type of game.
