Honestly? As much as I'm really NOT interested in a Pokemon MOBA, and as disappointed as I am that Nintendo and TPC are teaming up with Tencent, I think it's for the best that this wasn't another major in-house project like Let's Go or a mainline game. Sw/Sh demonstrated a great need for a longer development cycle, and I hope they take it. Maybe their next game will actually be worth buying then.

@GrailUK This exactly! I'm a decent enough fan of Bamco properties, but I can't say in good conscience that their games always look great, or even good. The 10fps distant enemies from Code Vein haunt me to date.

I'd be down for almost anyone taking a stab at it other than GameFreak - but it'll never happen ever, sadly. Regardless of anything else they release, Pokemon will always be the name they can slap on something and watch it make millions. No sane corporate executive would ever let that money-maker go.

Also, as evidenced by last year, people see GameFreak as a family member rather than a development company - kicking them would lose a lot of what goodwill they have remaining.

Yuck. The Bravely Default gacha sucked massively - all recycled assets from the first two games, slapped together carelessly with microtransactions to boot. I loved the first two games and would love to play "Bravely Third," but I'd really rather not have another mediocre SE phone game.

None! They should go back on this and pick a franchise that was culturally relevant at any point in time... is what I'd like to say, but they already announced it and it would look awful if they went back on it.

Figured this would happen. Last year's presentation was a bad joke, and it hurt Bethesda more than it helped them. They need to stay away until they have something real to announce.

Between this and their new hotel, it sounds like Atari is getting desperate to remain even remotely relevant.

@nessisonett Kanji's arc was typical enough to the way gay people were portrayed in anime around that time that I didn't really mind as much (it probably helped that I hadn't realized I was gay yet), but Naoto's whole storyline was an absolute trainwreck. The fact that Hashino kept putting emphasis on how much he dislikes LGBT people even after the Sega buyout is especially confusing to me, considering Sega's phenomenal track record when it comes to LGBT characters.

@nessisonett It's such a pain too, because I really love Katsura Hashino's games. Unfortunately he seems to deliberately portray LGBT people as predators, so I have a hard time bringing myself to play his games anymore. Thankfully he's not involved with P5R or the Persona studio at Sega anymore.

Oof, and there goes my interest until fighter 7. Hopefully this is the last of their first party stuff, but holding meetings and making deals will be difficult for the foreseeable future, so who knows.

Kinda surprised there wasn't any announcement, not even DLC, for FE's 30th anniversary, but I can live with the Bravely II and Xenoblade news, especially in these trying times. Jedi Academy will be a PS4 move though.

@KitsuneNight It'd have to be a big name VN like Fate/Danganronpa/999 for me to fork out something like $40. I could probably do $20 if someone I knew IRL recommended it to me, but otherwise I'm too short on money to spend it on something I'm only going to read once.

This might finally scratch my Chrono Trigger itch, assuming Square doesn't do a 3D remake of CT like they did with the Mana series. COVID has me working overtime so I'll throw them some money when I get paid.

Pleasantly surprised by this review. When I saw the cover art I thought this was gonna be another hot mess of a game with fanservice as its only selling point. Glad to see that it isn't; maybe I'll check it out.

Good. My joycon drift got so bad that I can't play handheld anymore. It's all Pro Controller now. Nintendo might be used to being treated like a family member, but high time to remember that we're their consumers, not their friends.

@JSDude1 EA as a company seems to be trying to forget the Switch even exists: by all accounts their sports games have had abnormally bad Switch releases. I wouldn't be surprised if they rereleased those games on PS4/Xbox One and just didn't put any on the Switch.

Feels a bit too inundated with pop-culture and current events. The soundtrack reminds me of the old flash games you'd play when the teacher wasn't looking in the school computer lab, so I might pick it up on steam if there's a soundtrack bundle.

It's a shame that despite already haven proven this around twenty years ago, politicians with no respect for science have shifted the narrative enough that this has to be news again.

Sounds like a decent enough blast to the past, but not one worth paying a whole $60 for. I'll wait until it's used or on sale, if not both.

Robin Williams was paid for some, if not all of his Zelda plugs (I don't think they paid him to name his kid Zelda, but weirder things have happened), so I wouldn't be surprised to learn she was paid for this. I wish it was a bit more transparent, though.

@Zuljaras RDJ is actually on the board for the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, which works towards criminal justice reform and reduced incarceration, and improved lives for the formerly incarcerated. I get what you're trying to say, but I feel it's a bit dismissive of his efforts to say he's not an activist.
