Re: Rumour: 3DS Developer Conference Next Tuesday

jerryo

i don't see a problem with the discussion, but now they should be finishing the implementation and testingdebugging. not discussing about features and what developers think about them. That is if indeed they are very serious about their online features, and they don't plan to serve whatever they have in their mind as successful on-line presence. (something that they have showed us time and again they know nothing about)

Re: Japanese Hardware / Software Sales Show the 3DS Needs a Boost

jerryo

...they even advertised "games" that were not even in production at that time. like MGS. All the demo was , was just that. a nice tech demo that Konami made after nintendo gave them the new system for testing. Kid Icarus, is nowhere to be found and there are even rumours that it may never come out.

so yeah .. that is really the main issue here. Not the price nor anything else, but distrust, and people who have said "let's wait and see, i'll buy when the liteXL comes out and more games will be there"

Re: Steel Diver Sinks Without Trace at UK Retail

jerryo

Sorry if this sounds like an ad, but i find the prices of play.com much better than most in Europe. Steel Diver £29.99 +Free Delivery across europe. Ocarina is same price.

Share your best price places with others to combat the greedy bastards that want to shoo the crisis away on our expense.

All games are a way to pass time. please do not talk nonsense But i guess submarines is really a niche theme. Yet iut is done right.

Re: Rumour: Metal Gear Solid to Sneak Onto 3DS in November

jerryo

Supposedly it was planned for around spring 2012. If it is so, this might be a demo like the one we will receive in mercenaries.

November is hard to believe, and still long away to be happy about especially given comments from Konami that the demo was just that at that point, and that there was no project that had started.

Re: Japanese Hardware / Software Sales Show the 3DS Needs a Boost

jerryo

i believe, 3DS will start recovering if all goes well and people don't lose interest due to "wii2" by march next year. the reason i say that is that by that time only there will be a large enough and diverse library of worth buying 3rd party games. The more rpgs the better. Do your research, and you will see that whichever console has the most RPGs "wins the war".

Re: Steel Diver Sinks Without Trace at UK Retail

jerryo

it is a very sweet game. too sad people just don't get it. :S

it is a perfect mini sub simulator. A mini hardcore game with casual appeal and a sense of humour. The controls are as close to controlling a mini boat as it gets. The theme is Chibi Submarine. The visuals are great and they feel like dioramas same as the subs look like those model subs i had as a kid. There are lots of signs to collect that do different things on your sub. Give you different immunities and bonuses.

The naval battle variant is pretty good too. If you get into it, you can actually feel the pressure when depth charges come your way.

@Gavin! spot on Mr.!
these guys are really sleeping! are they too bored to do their job
or too cool?

as for the news.. wow! it took them a while to figure it out don't you think?

Big mistake for Nintendo to show Revelations and MGS etc in 3DS presentation and then tell people "you know what? you will have to wait till next year until you get your hands on these! OH and also no fancy stuff on the 3DS because you are an early adopter!"

GOLDEN BUSINESS TIP:
Early adopters should be rewarded not punished!!!

People said," you know what? you got to wait till next year in order to get our money, and that only IF NGP doesn't convince us with what it has to offer!" I don't blame them.

Lets hope ocarina and starfox and mercenaries and all the armies of nintendo's faithful in the world will do their miracle... because the announcement of the next home console of nintendo in E3 is going to be awesome! but it is also going to push the sales of 3DS down and put nintendo fans in saving mode for another year

Re: Review: Bust-A-Move Universe (3DS)

jerryo

This game definitely is not the best of the bunch but i haven't played Puzzle Bobble for many years and this one is definitely a good one! It was exactly what i expected it to be and a tiny bit more. I was thinking of this as a 6/10.

I picked it up mainly out of curiosity and turned out to be quite addictive. It has only two modes, and i would love to have the platform mode of the game on the same package, world ranking wouldn't be bad either! but these modes it has are very well made with subtle yet effective 3D nice levels and super bubbles, and it can offer many hours of great time pass.

I understand some might be bored of playing puzzle bobble or expected a whole bunch of features for the price asked but for me this one is definitely a keeper which is going to last for many many months if not years.

And Millie do not compare animal crossing with puzzle bobble.
They have nothing in common.

I would give this one a 8/10 for what it is. Not what it should be.

Re: Review: Asphalt 3D (3DS)

jerryo

same as you i do not care about drifting, and do not care about realism.

I found this game quite entertaining. I would say a 7-7.5/10 game.

It left me a little burnout revenge taste in the mouth (which is a game i really loved) and has lots of nice add-ons power ups etc. If it wasn't for the mediocre 3D implementation and frame drops it could have been better. Not a bad pick up at all if you already played the other launch games.

Re: Netflix Heading to 3DS in Summer 2011

jerryo

@40 LOL

why would you need to waste your bandwidth with HD streaming on 3DS?
it's not even capable of displaying 720p.
actually, it displays about a quarter of it.

that was a funny questionrequest

Re: Gear Up for Solatorobo's Launch with New Videos

jerryo

convincing gamers to switch to your brand spanking new handheld while the much cheaper one still gets awesome games like this? Not likely.

convincing developers to make huge games on a yet unproven new platform while the other one still has an amazing and dedicated user base of over 100 million??? heh ...

bottom line, poor 3ds is going to suffer for a while with awesome re-runs :S

Re: Not Konami's Intention to Make Lautrec Look Like Layton

jerryo

it's like saying why a new jaguar looks like an aston martin or why the new ferrari four looks like the panamera.

guys they are competitive products and they address the same audience.
it's ok to look the same and even have the same pet.

what is important is how the game plays. are the puzzles more interesting? do you have fun while playing it? etc etc. Doctor, Professor.. well intellectual guys would have such a title back then. The top hat and woollen scarf for a little bohemian element were very common back then.Monkeys are considered smart and mischievous animals so they are the perfect sidekicks in such a case.

Anyway ,i will play both games those who bother with the similarities well... your loss

Re: Nintendo Reinforcing Western Development for Wii's Successor

jerryo

@28.
zelda and fable are two different games.i don't think what you fear will ever happen. Shigeru won't let that happen for as long as he lives. However i wish there were more like the first fable on wii. We are definitely on a good track.

really curious after all this rumour storm to see what nintendo has to offer!

Re: Iwata: "We Need Big Games to Hit 3DS Sales Targets This Year"

jerryo

well bring me a pandora's tower on 3DS or a MH with co-op and i promise i will buy two more to play with my friends

@39 true, but i feel it is not enough. MGS and Revelations were the main reasons i was excited. but I felt cheated when i found out that they are both not coming out until next year, and that MGS was not even there yet.. :S

Re: Nintendo Reinforcing Western Development for Wii's Successor

jerryo

"Wii is good in some areas but not in others, so especially for games like "Call of Duty," the Wii version sold pretty well, but the unit sales were very different from the versions of other platforms, and I assume that one of the reasons is the issue with the graphical representations which you mentioned before, and also, the consumers who like that kind of game will have other platforms at home as well, which led to this result. Of course, we would like to cooperate with software developers for Wii's successor, and as I am repeatedly saying, I don't believe Nintendo can carry out everything alone. I am saying that we are responsible for building up the market, but I don't think that Nintendo can maintain the market alone; We are aiming for creating a situation where software publishers will be willing to cooperate."

this is a very frank statement! no sony conniving fox would ever dare to say these words!

Re: Iwata: "Kinect Has Made Little Impact on Wii Sales"

jerryo

my favourite combo is DS3DS + PC. But now with all these pandora's, xenoblades and last stories i definitely feel like re-instating my wii

PS3 is all about uncharted, gears of war, little big planet and killzone. there are many more games but not ones you can't find anywhere else, and FPS imo is always better on PC with a huge difference.

Re: Iwata: "Kinect Has Made Little Impact on Wii Sales"

jerryo

I think you fail to see that 3DS has actually dropped a lot in sales, last week it dropped from #1 in the world to #4 under DS! This is why pokemon at the same time as 3DS launch is BAD. Even nintendo admitted that they failed to meet their goals. This is bad marketing too. It seems that they got the message with "Ocarina" and they are playing it right now. Already pre-orders are going nuts after announcements of shortages. Nobody says that 3DS launch was a failure, but it would be better for nintendo if there were shortages. It is also a fact that already games started feeling dry, and they will continue to do so even after ocarina. Thank god there are a couple of solid games out there. but there is nothing like Animal Crossing. Although a great device 3DS won't have a solid game base to actually lure mainstream buyers in at least until next year February-March. However as story proves even crawling zombies like ps3 and especially psp can live and be strong, even after many failed attempts to launch them. Last but not least unless you are a developer, don't talk about how successful move and kinect are, and how many games are in development for them. Microsoft has based a huge chunk of it's growth on a rejuvenated game market based on kinect. 360 for the first time in history is threatening PS2 records in US. Kinect is smart, easier for kids and fun. A little realism won't hurt but you can bang your tune as much as you like. It's a free world. Osama is dead.

Re: Iwata: "Kinect Has Made Little Impact on Wii Sales"

jerryo

xbox and ps3 are on the rise. they got visuals, they got hardcore, and they appear to the family man of 35 years old who's a core gamer and has a family. wii didn't do that succesfully unfortunately. many core games remained unsold, or others like xenoblade waited for wii to be near death to move to the west. 3ds is not killing wii. however hit titles on DS are killing 3DS. Pokemon on similar time with 3ds launch? big mistake. New pokemon should be on 3DS. Their marketing stretegy is not right, it is confusing, people expect nintendo to pull forth, they play lovey dovey with 3rd parties giving them space to breathe, but 3rd parties don't care and let nintendo down on launch. If they do not wake up and realise that only they can move their systems.. we're in for a long dry spell.. coz 3rd parties don't give a about nintendo. expect a re-run of gamecube with 3DS.

Re: Beyond the Labyrinth Headed to 3DS in Japan

jerryo

"the graphics are amazing" gone are the days of "a game doesn't need graphics to be awesome" in which case, i think we shouldn't be so happy that we are getting what PSP had for some years now. acidic humour acide, there are going to be some awesome games previously not possible on DS. lets get them coming though because i started becoming impatient. Sony is pushing the envelope a lot with their new tablets. even presented a dual screen one. and that one although it looks like a lady's purse is very tasty

Re: Need for Speed The Run Races to 3DS and Wii in November

jerryo

The sooner we start seeing solid RPGs, Action, and Shooters on 3DS the better.

The reason why PSP outsells 3DS right now is because amazing RPG and Action games are out for it. NOT racing games. On 3DS we have Mario Kart, and no other racing game can be better than this. Mario Kart is enough for a looooong time. Unfortunately Resident evil revelations, metal gear solid etc, are long time ahead. so we have to suck our thumb and wait till then. Thank god Ocarina is coming soonish.

I have a very strong feeling that this NFS thing is going to be such a failure.. especially on 3DS.
.

Re: Nintendo Expected Higher 3DS Sales

jerryo

@20. 3D is a visual element.

the only thing you can do about it is use it to display inventory elements and a world in 3D, use it in a way Layton does. 3DS has a large amount of hardware features other than 3D dispaly that can be incorporated into gameplay. But 3D is just graphics.

how would you turn it into a gameplay element?

Re: Nintendo Expected Higher 3DS Sales

jerryo

games games games. i like many of the the launch games i already have bought 6, but these are not what the mainstream audience wants. they want mario they want zelda.. I think nintendo tried to give the launch to 3rd parties, to change the impression that it doesn't allow them to grow, but 3rd parties failed nintendo. only a few showed up with strong content. Level 5, Capcom, Ubisoft, and somehow Konami. summer is coming. After E3 nintendo is again going to top the charts for good. If even that doesn't help, oh well. then has really hit the fan

@41 i keep saying this.. people don't believe me either

Re: Rumour: Rare Looking Into 3DS Development

jerryo

they better! damned traitors! they served us poison but they got their share... nintendo fans are open hearted and forgiving towards old friends! BRING IT ON RARE WE LOVE YOU! Conker's Good Fur Day!

Re: Big 3DS Release Dates Still Up in the Air

jerryo

well if it was for animal crossing i can wait for ages in order to get something as perfect as the one on DS

but situations like this one are the ones who make people avoid to buy a 3DS. they are weak and they are afraid Nintendo might fail and they will "stand alone in the cold" don't be afraid brothers and sisters! buy the damned thing, it really is awesome! .

Re: Big 3DS Release Dates Still Up in the Air

jerryo

hmm this definitely doesn't sound too good. while i have a great time with 3DS launch games, i am not sure i will be saying the same in may, especially with no online in sight and no downloadable distractions...
