Re: Review: LEGO City: Undercover (Switch)

I bought it yesterday and so far I'm really enjoying it. I never usually like LEGO games and never played this on the WiiU.....but the idea of a LEGO game that's open world appealed to me. I have been playing it mainly in docked mode - but the times I have played it in handheld mode I didn't notice any issues. I only paid £13 for it as I had credit on my GAME card and I also traded in my PS4 version of 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare'. I'm happy with my purchase. So far I'd give it a 7.5/10

@uhhhhhhhh

Interesting, I think the resolution is ok in handheld mode. Admittedly, I've only played the game this way so, thus far, can't compare to it being docked.

I'm enjoying this game. So far I've only played it in handheld mode (perfect game to just "pick up and play")...I think the graphics look great - crisp, colourful and with just the right amount of detail a game like this needs. The gameplay is pretty well balanced, although I agree with some reviewers that say the controls take a bit to master/feel natural. This, along with FAST RMX, is a great game to play when you want to take "time out" from marathon BOTW sessions.

@Jaredfrogman Happy Birthday for tomorrow!

Re: Poll: Merry Switchmas - Has the Nintendo Switch Launch Got You In a Festive Spirit?

I'm very happy (although I am feeling bad for those who've been let down and didn't get their Switch today - for whatever reason).

I got about 2 hours of BOTW under my belt, having a blast with 'Fast RMX' (quality!!) and have just finished a fun session of 'Snipperclips" with the wife....and she really enjoyed it, despite being a bit skeptical at first!

My PS4 Pro is not going to get a look in!!

Hope everyone manages to get their Switch soon..(keeping my fingers crossed for you!)

Re: Nintendo is "Being Very Selective" on Which Indie Devs Will Be Allowed On Switch eShop

@Hordak

Haha.....a little bit of me 100% agrees with you there (grumpy old men UNITE!). Back in the 'good ole' SNES/N64 days, the "Nintendo Seal of Quality" was much easier to enforce when all games were physical cartridges. Alas, the genie is out of the bottle.....but it's encouraging to see Nintendo bringing back a bit of quality control in the digital download world.

Personally, I'd like to see a lot more quality looking "indie" games like 'Fast RMX' & 'Snakepass'....rather than retro looking 8bit/16bit games.

Re: UK Retailer GAME Is Cancelling Nintendo Switch Preorders Days Before Launch

Yep, happened to me yesterday...

There I was, blissfully looking at Switch related YouTube vids - to heighten my excitement for Friday - when I get a text message from my bank (Halifax) letting me know that GAME just tried taking £279.99 from my account and asking if it was me "yes or No"? I obviously replied "YES"......
Two minutes later I receive an E-mail from GAME to let me know that they have cancelled my Nintendo Switch order because of my bank and I needed to call them (GAME) if I want to get it resolved.
I immediately called GAME in a cold sweat and I was in a queue for 58 minutes (every minute that went by I felt my Switch slipping away)!!! At the same time I went online and placed myself in a queue to chat with a GAME rep online - I was number 33 in the line to chat with someone!! Aghhhhh!

Eventually, I was able to chat with someone online and I was halfway through explaining everything to them when I was also (finally) put through to someone on the phone! The funny thing is, the person I was talking to on the phone was sat right next to the person I was chatting with online.

It was finally resolved by them setting up a new order and linking it to my previous order and I was promised I'd get it delivered on Friday.

Totally messed with my hype mojo...

Re: Here's What The Day One Nintendo Switch System Update Will Do

@SLIGEACH_EIRE They might be valid complaints, but can't you, just for once, also give credit where credit is due? I'm all for constructive criticism (and I certainly don't look at the world, particularly where Nintendo is concerned, with 'rose tinted spectacles') but surely a bit of balance is not too unreasonable also? If you have seriously got nothing good/nice to say about Nintendo or what they are bringing to the table with the Switch then that's fair enough. But then that begs another question: Why are you even bothering to comment at all? Are you purely on here commenting negatively on every single Switch article to spoil other peoples enjoyment of the Nintendo Switch. It really does seem that way...Not cool.

@Manjushri Didn't you even read the article? All the improvements they've made over the WiiU version?
"Most of the tracks from the Wii U version got improvements for better lighting and more special effects. We also added a new GRAPHICS option to the Pause menu. There you can toggle effects like 'Dynamic HDR Exposure' and 'Chromatic Aberration'. The first one allows a much higher dynamic range of brightness on the screen. You have to see it in action. It makes the game much more lifelike. The 2nd effect emulates how real lenses work on cameras and gives a nice touch of realism to the image. All these additions were not in the demo version that many people already played, because the demo was created last year."
