I don't see this doing very well. It will sell perhaps enough to justify itself, but it will not substantially cut into Switch sales. It appeals to a largely different audience (really just hardcore gamers, which make for a smaller percentage of Switch ownership than people realize), and — critically — it can't offer Nintendo exclusives.
@AndyC_1101 "Let’s be honest here, nobody on this site is making $110k a year."... Just curious — what makes you think there is any correlation between income and being on this site?
@SPL64 Interesting story. I actually far preferred Missile Command and never really understood the appeal of Pitfall, which I found pretty boring. But I’m glad you enjoyed it!
@Mr_SP I know some feel that way about anime having to come from Japan, but that's just silly. It's like saying fondue isn't fondue because you're not eating it in France. Anime is best defined a style of animation, and it really should have nothing to do with whether or not non-Japanese people are producing it.
@ASTURmatr Even if you sign in under different accounts? I thought digital games were locked to the accounts that purchased them, not to the hardware...
@Kimyonaakuma It would not be trying to compete with or replace Mario Kart in any way. More than one first party racer with combat elements can exist on a system, especially one with a completely different cast of characters and flight mechanics.
I just spoke with Nintendo on the phone. I have an account with my profile and four additional profiles for my wife and my three kids on our one Switch. According to the Nintendo rep, ONLY YOUR MAIN PROFILE associated with your account will be able to use the online features under that account. I was told I have to set up entirely separate accounts for them and then add them to the family plan. Just one problem — they will not be able to share my games on the Switch! Since I only purchase games by download, if they want to have their Breath of the Wild save uploaded to the cloud, they will have to EACH OWN THEIR OWN COPY OF THE GAME or I will have to buy a physical copy of every game I already own; the save they already have on the Switch for Breath of the Wild (and many others) under my account CANNOT be backed up to the cloud.
This is an awful policy. I'm very upset about this. There is no way I am buying physical copies of games I already own (or multiple downloads of the same game) just so my wife and kids can back up their saves to the cloud. What a huge mess.

Re: Newcomers Can Break Final Fantasy VII Remake With New Difficulty Settings
Wait what?! This game already offered zero challenge... Wish they'd add a major INCREASE to difficulty.
Re: Switch 2 Users Are Reporting Instances Of Their Consoles Overheating
For Pete's sake, it's "root cause", not "route cause".

Re: Super Dodge Ball Is The Latest Arcade Archives Classic To Hit The Switch
@Link935 That was Liam's job with this article, but strangely he was too lazy to detail what the differences are, so we have to guess.
Re: First Paid DLC For Lonely Mountains: Downhill Revealed, Arriving "Soon" On Switch
This is actually my GOTY so far. Definitely will get the DLC.

Real helpful. lol
Re: Namcot Collection: Series 1 Pulled From Japanese eShop After Customers Receive Wrong Games
@SPL64 Yeah I'm pretty crazy about 2600 MC. And HERO is great! I never played it as a lad, but I tried it a few years ago. I need to play it more!

Re: Bandai Namco Is Bringing Its Retro Collection To The West As Namco Museum Archives
@brandonbwii I’m going to just say it — you couldn’t be more wrong.
Pac/Ms. Pac/Dig Dug/Galaga/Galaxian all rock. And there are many very good second tier Namco arcade games from that era.

@Anti-Matter Nintendo just DID clarify it for me. And please don't "now now" me, I'm probably twice your age.
