The inflation argument for the PS5 Pro is so dumb because after you add in the disc drive (like it should have had from the START), it goes over the PS3 price that was LAUGHED OFF. The PS3 was losing HARD until the price cut to $300.
Inflation is rough, that is true, but then make a product that is not as highly specced and then MAKE GOOD GAMES FOR IT. There’s a reason Nintendo sold 100+ million switches and no one is gonna buy the PS5 pro. At $700 or $780 with the disc drive, you’re approaching PC budgets which are far more useful, have cheaper games with constant steam sales, and free online. You get people to make those concessions at $500 and under. Ain’t no way that’s gonna fly at the Pro price
As for the Switch 2, I think if it’s $400-450 for PS4 pro graphics, I’ll be more than happy. Even if it has an LCD screen. I mainly play docked anyway
Edit: this is coming from someone who has a PS5 and is perfectly happy with how it is. FF7 Rebirth was fantastic. There isn’t the need for a huge jump like last gen. Heck, I’d even argue that they haven’t even optimized well enough yet. I’ve played so many games from the PS4 that STILL look amazing.
Alright everyone, if you want to jump into Trails, THIS IS THE ONE. We’ve been waiting for it. It’s been teased a bunch of times. The original is my favorite game of all time. Everything I’ve seen so far makes me believe it will be very faithful. Falcom President Kondo said has gone on record to say that Sky is his favorite game from the series, so it’s a true passion project from the team. IM SO HYPE
@PikminMarioKirby I’ll gladly pay for games, but some of these NEVER get released. Playing Pokemon on your phone is really nice when most of the games never get another shot besides the original console.
It would be insane to say that we just wouldn’t watch a movie because the company who has the rights pulls it from everywhere streaming/purchasing. The entire cinema industry would be in an uproar. But with games, we just let it happen all the time.
Also emulators can even run the games better. I’ve purchased many games then emulated them to have a better experience.
Emulators are so important for game preservation. So much of the library from 2 gens ago and back would be lost to time without it.
This is huge news if XSeed is working with Falcom on new ports. That means that getting CS1/2 or even (potentially) Trails in the Sky ports could happen!!!
@Anti-Matter hope you realize that in 10 years when the eShop gets shut down that unless projects like this exist, games will be completely impossible to play.
Yes, having an emulator for the current-gen console is asking to get sued, ESPECIALLY WITH A PATREON, but stuff like the PS3 emulator is incredibly important to not losing so much of gaming history. Taking out the 3DS emulator was petty too, as Nintendo gains no money from lost sales and consoles will fail.
As a parallel, many animated shows are getting taking of streaming services and have no physical release, making them legally lost to time. I've seen tweets from creators of these shows thanking ones who have shared the show because they would rather it be enjoyed than be lost to time. I'm sure there's many game creators who would feel the same.
Lucina was far from my favorite character personality wise but I did S-Support her for the skills. And Morgan proceeded to wipe maps lol.
I felt like Awakening wasn't swept up in the "waifu sim" and felt a lot more focused on making child units how you wanted for skills. I probably would try the dancer if I replayed because her speed makes the child insane.
This comment section quite frankly has a lot of people who are either out of the loop or so ignorant that they need to stay out. The Smash World tour has been going on all year as a circuit of events, with this being the championship for the final. The cancellation of this event doesn't just mean the end of it, but most likely the end of the Smash events as we know it. For the longest time, Nintendo was willing to keep out of grassroots events (with the exception of modded or "unofficial digital" copies being used) and while the organizers have never had licenses, they never got support but could do things on their own. With this decision, every single event not licensed could get shut down. And if the license takes 7 MONTHS to get confirmation, that's incredibly unreasonable. It's not about feeling like Nintendo owes the Smash community for advertising the game, its literally just them staying out so that we can enjoy competing and the competition. ON TOP OF THAT, the accusations from multiple sources about the CEO of Panda most likely being the person who had this happen to take out a competing circuit, this story is a huge dagger to the Smash community.
....the point of streaming is to make something with more power portable or if you need to use the big screen for something else (ie kids watching tv) you can still play it on your phone.
What would be the use for this on iPads/phones? On a Windows PC, i could see having everything in one spot. But with the nature of the app being in beta, it's clear that that wasn't their focus anyway. Are they trying to make something portable... portable???
I'm generally a fan of emulation and the ways that games can be enhanced by the flexibility of them. I modded my switch so that I can dump my cartridges to yuzu and play stuff like Metroid Dread at 144 fps. Heck, I bought BOTW on Switch and then got the wii u version running on CEMU to have a better experience playing it. I've done that a few times where I will buy a copy of a game where the legal port is all messed up (most often to PC) and then emulate a different console's version to have a good experience.
To use Gabe Newell's famous quote, "piracy is not a pricing issue. It’s a service issue." Whatever is the easiest way to do things, that's the way that pirates are gonna do it. So while I see the argument about how it might not be a great idea for Valve to promote emulation, at the same time, if I had a Deck and a Switch, I might consider trying to get my games running on the deck to have everything in one place.
So many people complained about Three Houses when it was first revealed but it ended up being a success. This looks like a cool homage to the series without being a F2P or Warriors game. Having smaller games like this that call back to the classics mixed in with the true revolutions of the series to me is a cool idea as long as the quality stays high.
This is so cool for modders! This game includes a really good Saturn emulator but it had to deal with that delay. Love to see how that will pan out with swapping the files to put other games on it.
@BlubberWhale It was directed at people complaining about a product that isn't for them lol. I've been following the Smash scene for a while and am pretty stoked for this controller, even if I'm not personally gonna get one. I've been following Panda for a while and know that real Smash pros have spent hours testing these to get them right. But I don't get why people are upset that an option for more features is available for those who want it.
Anybody complaining about the price is pretty clearly not the target demographic. It's more of a comparison to the Xbox Elite controller if anything, and its especially a good deal compared to other modded controllers for $250++. For COMPETITIVE smash players, this is truly insane.
For anyone else, yes just buy a Wavebird. They are awesome and you won't regret it.
Awesome! I've been playing the Trails games on PC and have been having a good time. Hope the ports for the Switch continue to improve. Ys VIII ran just enough on Switch to appreciate a 10/10 game without the graphics being a distraction but definitely could be better.
From a design perspective, I've enjoyed the controller. It's odd but usable for sure.
From a reliability standpoint, major yikes. Those joysticks get worn in the worst ways. Most of the used controllers I've found have been near or completely toast.

Monolith Soft back at it again! That’s the link that I see. They worked on parts of Splatoon and TOTK, as well as BOTW and Animal Crossing lol

I will be sticking to the GC version of this. I bought the PC version to have a legal copy but will be playing it in Dolphin to have 60FPS.

Never would Capcom do this to Street Fighter.
