Sure the graphics are better. But that's it. No one could've imagined the SNES or N64 running a game like Mario Sunshine- the new experience was made possible by hardware. But now, we are at the point where improvements in hardware won't make new games possible. Call of Duty isn't much different on PS4 than it is on PS3, because last gen hardware was already pretty good to begin with. Without the GamePad/other innovations, no new, previously impossible ideas can be done- everything is just slightly prettier than last gen. The difference between PS4 and PS3 graphically is noticable, but it is nothing compared to SNES to N64 or even N64 to Gamecube. Hardware alone can't do anything new. And if innovations like the GamePad are to be abandoned, where do developers go next? Can graphics REALLY get much better than the PS4 and Xbox One? And if next gen graphics are marginally better, perhaps running at 4k, how much more is that going to cost? And is that cost REALLY going to be outweighed by the cost, when gameplay itself doesn't change? Nintendo has the right strategy and the right idea with their vision of innovation.

The biggest issue is the "where do we go from here?" issue. Nintendo noticed that after the Gamecube; graphics had reached a point where there wasn't really anything new to be done. With the Wii and now the Wii U, Nintendo attempted to bypass that and make sure that new things could be done with games. Meanwhile, PS3/360 and now PS4 and XB1, have very similar experiences as they traditionally have had, but with graphical improvements (and these improvements are ESPECIALLY minor now that PS4 and XB1 have shown that graphics coouldn't really get much better from PS3 and 360.) I think that, in the future, Nintendo will be seen as ahead of the time. The issue with Nintendo now is marketing- they have to communicate to consumers that the Wii U is a new console (since naming it Wii U is horribly confusing) and is something worth owning. More GamePad could be good, but there is a need for balance. Nintendo's innovations are evolutionary, not revolutionary. Games like Pikmin 3 and Wind Waker perfectly showed how minor uses can be very beneficial, just like how Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy on Wii showed that waggle does not threaten hardcore games, but gives them life. I think then that Nintendo's GamePad use now is great, because it strikes a balance between keeping hardcore fans happy (keeping in mind how polarizing the influx of waggle-based games was) while at the same time keeping things new and fresh and avoiding the problems that the next generation of Sony and Microsoft consoles will face when they realize that they can't improve graphics anymore.

Pikmin 3 is $40 at Newegg and Mario and Luigi Dream Team is $28 at Amazon. Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is also $28 on Amazon. Zombi U is $15 at Best Buy's website. Nintendo Land is $20, Wii Classic Controller Pro is $15, Batman Armored Edition is $20, ans at Kmart's website. Also, Gamestop is including Scribblenauts Unmasked with most of the Wii U bundles (includes Zelda), but it isn't available online, so it appears if you want this one you'll have to brave black friday traffic and crowds. Also, like Oto said, Xenoblade and Metroid are both really cheap, but using the codes CAG16 and SAVER you can get another 16% off and free shipping- these codes shoudl work with any used games.

@DarkwingLz Well, the main problem is that most people who think the Wii U is just an add on won't want to spend $300, especially if they think they can play all of the Wii U games even without the add-on (as there are a lot of stories from retail workers about customers who try to return Wii U games that didn't work on their Wii)

I just don't think this'll help with uninformed consumers.. Are most people going to understand that the Wii U is something entirely different, and not just a controller with a screen to play on when the TV is in use?

The handheld title of the year really shows how this isn't a fair voting population at all, and is likely comprised mostly of the Sony/Microsoft crowd. Last of Us, Witcher, Bioshock, are all ones I could definitely see, and are all fantastic games, but the handheld gaming really shows something's wrong. Assasin's Creed Liberation received a consensus of "meh". It isn't groundbreaking. Its a handheld game attempting to be a console game and failing at it. Even on metacritic it sits at a 70.. ACNL or Fire Emblem are so much better and more deserving of this award.

I don't know what I'd want really, other than folders. I'm pretty happy with the way everything works. I know a lot of people complain about load times, but they haven't really been a big issue for me.

@DimetriWarrior I certainly understand not seeing EVs and IVs as fun, its something that wouldn't be fun to most people. I have fun with it, though, and people who play competitively also have fun with it- otherwise they wouldn't have sank so many hours into playing. Learning the advanced mechanics for Pokemon is like learning advanced mechanics for other competitive games, from Starcraft to even games like Chess. You don't have to have these to enjoy the game but for people who do feel passionate about that game, they can find a lot of fun in learning and perfecting these

@DimetriWarrior Red and Blue employed an EV and IV system, albeit different from the current one, and it was probably the worst gen in terms of everyone spamming pokemon. Pretty much everyone had Starmie, Alakazam, Blissey, and Exeggutor, and Mewtwo if he was allowed.
Competitive play has always been like this. If you don't want to EV or IV train, you can just play the game regularly, but there's always going to be people who want to use the most advanced strategies, and they'll beat you. Criticizing them for using those strategies is like criticizing sports teams for practicing all week.

Well, there's no way to tell between a cheated Pokemon that has legitimate stats and a normal uncheated Pokemon. The people who cheated here had more than 508 EVs in their pokemon, an illegal moveset, more than 31 IVS, etc. Something that you couldn't have gotten legitimately.

Ghost Recon and Rayman Origins are great games, but the rest aren't anything amazing. I wish they would've discounted these games more, though, since the majority can be found for much less than $21 in the bargain bin at pretty much any retailer.

Wii U isn't one of their main priorities; they'd rather put other things in the game first, and then Wii U. So most of the money goes towards extending and expanding the game in ways they wouldn't be able to otherwise, and the last $15,000 or so likely goes to the costs of getting it on Wii U. Remember, they have to pay to port the game, pay to put it on the E-Shop, and they also have to pay to get it ESRB Rated, something they probably won't do if it it's just on PC/Mac/Linux.

@ThomasBW84 Bankers are almost as popular as DSiWare games are nowadays.

The art style in this game is just beautiful. I'm glad they stuck with sprites. This looks to be the best Mario & Luigi yet.

I think it works much better on the 3DS/DS than Wii U, but there probably just haven't been enough games on Wii U that utilize it well yet.

I got DK. It's an amazing game, but I already have the GB cartridge.. I wish we could just get some E-Shop credit.

Is this game better than Sonic Triple Trouble? I'm not sure which to get.
