Had a lot on yesterday so only managed to do about 5 races. It was muchos fun however, the most I've ever been challenged playing online. Well done to everyone involved.
It is pretty much a cliche to do so but I had to vote for Ocarina. That game still gets me on an emotional level every time I play it. It was a close call vs ALTTP. My top 5 would be: 1. Ocarina 2. ALTTP 3. Twilight Princess 4. Wind Waker 5. Skyward Sword ( Link Between Worlds was very close on making the cut).
@Shiryu Aww man I love NHL Hitz 2003 on Gamecube. My friends & I used to get drunk & have epic tournaments on it when we were at University in the 2003-04 period.
This weekend though I'm playing SM3DW & AC4 Black Flag on Wii U, as well as Zelda: Link Between Worlds on 3DS, I've just downloaded discounted Trine 2 from the e shop, so maybe a bit of it also.
To the best of my memory Metroid Prime & Fusion came out pretty close together. I think a similar situation with a Wii U first person Metroid complemented by a side scrolling 3DS release would have me crying tears of joy.
Sonic Racing Transformed & Black Ops 2 on WiiU. Zelda: Oracle of Seasons on 3DS & some 16 bit classics on Wii VC, maybe Super Castlevania, Mega Man X, Super Mario World & Ristar.
Excellent! I've been really enjoying BLOPS 2 on Wii U. The simple addition of being able to play on the gamepad has ensured that I've ploughed quite a few hours into it. Far from my favourite franchise or genre but it's inclusion on Wii U is important.
On Wii U I'll be playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Batman: Arkham City, Sonic & All Stars Racing: Transformed. Also in the past hour I've finally got past the section in ZombiU where you are in an arena fighting off hordes of the undead with no backpack. I got stuck there a few months ago & after getting killed copious times left the game aside for a bit, so I guess having done that I'll have to sink a few hours into old ZombiU. Maybe a bit of Nintendoland if I get time.
Really, really hope it's a new IP. However I also really, really want a new Metroid. Although I'm sure whatever Retro comes up with will make me very happy.
Great to see a bit of defiance from the talent directed towards the suits. Also the simultaneous release contract is one of the reasons I detest Microsoft & everything they do.
For as long as I can remember there has always been a strong anti-Nintendo attitude among the majority of gamers in the UK stretching back to the console wars of the early 90's. That's my reading of the situation anyway speaking from within my circle of influence. The current situation is not helped by how horribly advertised the Wii U is at the moment. Certain shops ( tesco, sainsburys etc) have all the Wii U games lumped in with Wii games like they're the same thing & come to think of it same goes for 3DS & DS games. Then when you ask sales assistants about Wii U specific accessories they give you that blank stare that tells you 'ok I'm about to have my time wasted'. I'm however very impressed with the U so far & really do hope it finds it's feet as I think it has great potential.
Ubisoft might not be flavour of the week but I'll be mostly playing ZombiU & Assasins Creed 3 on Wii U, as well as Nintendoland & NSMBU. Also if I get the chance MGS Twin Snakes on GC as I bought MGS Snake Eater on 3DS for ÂŁ15 last week & i want to refresh my Metal Gear skills in Alaska before taking to the 'Soviet Jungle' (a geographical region I'm not sure I ever heard about in school).
Seems like Ubisoft's show of praise for Wii U yesterday was all a bit of a diversion for the stab in the back coming today. I fully expected Legends would appear on the ps360 before the end of the year but to push the Wii U release back almost six months to cater for their version is absolute bullish*t. I'll be picking it up second hand which I don't like to do when I feel a developer has made a good game (which I'm positive Legends will be) but I'm quite irked about the situation, was planning to play it over Easter. Grrrrrrrr!
My Game Boy is still going strong, have had it since Xmas 92. Still pull it out occasionally to play Super Mario Land 2 (which I downloaded on 3DS but still love the full retro effect that only the monochrome blur can deliver) and Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge ( which I wish they would release on 3DS VC ).
Still have my treasured Nes edition SP which helped fight the boredom on hungover days during my first semester of university. I couldn't afford a tv for my room so that was the autumn of Mario Advance 2,3 & 4, Zelda LTTP & Metroid Fusion & Zero Mission. I got a tv/DVD combi for Christmas so I could watch films & hook up my Gamecube in the second semester. But I'll always have fond memories of my little grey, red & black friend & the times spent with it when I should have been studying. Don't think I could sell it at any price.
Thanks Tsuchiya. I'm leaning towards Assassins Creed 3 although that Mass Effect 3 trailer I just watched has put it in the running. Then again there is something wonderfully nostalgic about first playing a new Nintendo console with a Mario game.
Only pre-ordered last Friday & was told I wasn't certain to get my Wii U at launch. Cue phone call from hmv this afternoon telling me it will be in store for collection tomorrow which resulted in me doing laps of the office woo-hooing. Had the day booked off a while back so I will be at hmv in Manchester city centre as soon as it opens for delivery of my new Wii U baby. Already got Nintendoland but will get one other, but which though? So many good options.

Re: Ronimo Games: PS4 And Xbox One Are More Of The Same, But Wii U Is "Something New"
Really like the look of this. It seems indie games such as this are the future for WiiU as more & more of the multi-plat franchises depart.
Re: Weirdness: The Legend of Zelda's Master Sword Appears to be in PS4-Exclusive inFAMOUS: Second Son
TBH I'm more impressed that the ad for this game samples 'Touch Me I'm Sick' by one of my all time favourite bands, Mudhoney.

Phew! So nearly downloaded Trine 2 on Friday. Will definitely be downloading it this Friday however.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Wishes Nintendo Had "Done More" With Zelda II
I love Zelda 2. Number 4 on my top 5 Nes games. It's a game which requires much patience, I also love it's art style.
Re: Review: Sonic the Hedgehog (3DS eShop / Game Gear)
Still have my original Master System cart & downloaded on the Wii. But I still think I will download it again for 3DS. Hey it'll be portable now!
Re: Ubisoft Posts Beyond Good & Evil Image On Its Facebook Page Days Before E3
Oh please God make it so.
Re: Video: Sonic Lost World Debut Trailer Blasts Across The Internet
Very interesting. Seems to take the speed of Sonic games mixed with the inventiveness of a 3D Mario. Definitely on my wishlist.

Re: Rejoice, Mario Kart Wii U Is Coming This Year
YAY! Just got Sonic Racing Transformed on Wii U, which is awesome. But it just ain't Mario Kart!
Re: Airship Combat Title Guns Of Icarus Online Could Be Flying To Wii U
Seen the words Icarus & Wii U together and got very excited about an Uprising sequel. However this also looks amazing.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Nine
Assassins Creed 3, Nintendoland & ZombiU on Wii U. DKC3 on VC. NSMB 2 & MGS: Snake Eater on 3DS & maybe F-Zero GX & Super Monkey Ball on GC.
Re: Wii U Version of Aliens: Colonial Marines Has Not Been Postponed
I'll wait and see what the reviews of the Wii U version are like before deciding as I was initially very excited about this game. I live in hope.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - New Year Edition
Total Wii U weekend for me which will include numerous side quests & board games in Assasins Creed 3, knocking heads in with a cricket bat in Zombiu, picking up the last few star coins in NSMBU & a spot of multiplayer with my lovely fiancé in Nintendoland. Also maybe a blast on SimCity on Wii VC which I panic downloaded two weeks ago & still haven't played. Ah the simple pleasures.
