Re: Video: The 10 Biggest Wii U Games Of 2014

I'm with @gregrout here. We've known about many of these titles for quite sometime except for Hyrule Warriors and a couple others. I see only 'X' and Bayonetta 2 being released beyond spring... what's after that?

@B3ND3R that's awesome. My first was Revelations: Persona and then Revelations: the Demon Slayer. Being my favorite game is Earthbound, discovering Persona not long after was awesome. The modern day setting and horror-like atmosphere really drew me in.

Seriously thought this game wouldn't be this good. I was way wrong. This is one game I'll definitely have no problems buying DLC if and when it's available.
Thanks for the nice surprise, Nintendo.

@LDXD @SecondServing I don't think they'll die off, more so the technologies will combine. One device for everything. A docking station here, a portable dock there. Something will change. I will always prefer a straight up console though.

Oh, and LDXD, perhaps a small notification that would pop-up or an LED to let you know of an incoming call. Gives you enough chance to either answer or simply ignore and save your game and an appropriate spot.

@LDXD I have an ASUS Transformer which is like a hybrid tablet/netbook with an NVIDIA Tegra 3. Most of the games are crap. Some good ones, but too many are knock offs of major console/portable/PC titles. I do enjoy some games, but I don't think I'll ever get used to strictly touch screen controls.

In the future, we will probably see a pleasant gaming experience from mobile platforms, but it's at least a few years away. If Nintendo joined the fray and made a phone with a controller dock of some sort I'd be all over. OF COURSE, it'd have to have a block call feature.

Re: Talking Point: Marketing Wii U to the Masses

There's just so much emphasis on the tablet. Yes, that is the focus, but if one doesn't take a good, strong look at the advertisements, it could be easily mistaken that the tablet is merely sitting in front of a black Wii.

Show the console off in advertisments more, hell, show it side by side with the old Wii. Just stop focusing 100% of the attention on the tablet controller.

Re: Talking Point: The Wonderful 101 Direct and Demo Set the Standard for Wii U Marketing

archlord

The Wonderful 101's marketing has been done very well with the exception of one small thing. The demo announcement was sort of messy on the NA front. It sparked up a little bit of irritation with more than few people, myself included. Things cooled over when everyone found out the demo was coming later that day, but still it could've been announced better instead of "North American players will have to a wait a bit longer". It's just a bit too vague.

Re: Wii U Hardware Still Being Sold At A Loss

Wouldn't cutting the game pad now make the majority of games unplayable; in addition, require an obvious system update? Every dev would have to release an update so the game pad wasn't required for current titles.
