I have not yet picked up for Xbone or PS4 as was holding out to see what the SWITCH version would be like, am not disappointed.
In regards to the XBONE video, whilst clearly has better depth and definition the motion seems off, like having the Soap Opera Effect set too high watching TV, this is something I have noticed a fair bit in XBONE versions of games. Maybe it is because I am getting older but sometimes I wonder if my eyes and brain don't just appreciate a lower frame rate?
I have pretty much every handheld and home console from the n64/PS1/xbox onwards and some HH from before, not Rockafella, just pick them up when the price falls.
Nintendo offers someting completely different and refreshing to Sony and Microsoft....
Imagine a gaming world without N.... what another generic FPS game, what it has fantastic online battle modes (sigh, spawn, die, respawn.... get verbally aboused by a twelve year old) What is that Bathesda have reskinned their engine onto another game? a new version of Fifa with up to date names and stats.... woot! woot! let me onboard that train.
In all fairness I could easily live without Microsoft, its exclusives have become stale, the only really boon the XBONE has is easy additional storage that this generation systems need for their 80+ GB games (so that they can run in higher definition than my eyes can see, but my pet eagle appreciates it).
I would not be without my PS3/4 but if I had to make a choice between them and Wii U/Switch it wouldn't even be a close contest.
BTW anyone notice that in the Rabbids presentation Luigi has a poltergust.... OMG I am going to read too much into that!
I can only hope that we get a hint of hint that Luigi's Mansion 3 is under development.... TBH even just Luigi's Mansion remastered would do me fine.... and a new Kirby 2d sequeal to either of the Wii variants would be good or the recent 3ds versions ported and upscaled and made multiplayer would make me cream
It's not that it is "more old games" ported from the Wii U, it is that it is is this game.... N has some of the best IPs and but Pokken T was a dull un-featured game 10 years out of date.
I would happily pay a platinum price to buy some of the fantastic Wii U games again, maybe tweaked slightly as per MK8D. I think that some of the exceptional games from the Wii U were not experienced by enough people, however Pokken T is a big pair of soiled pants.

BOTW is on a different level of gaming, forget 4k my eyes are not that good, N always delivers gameplay.
Purchased the first 3-4 generations of Skylanders, out of collecting impulse... .wish I hadn't bothered the game play/story has not evolved at all and the toys add little or nothing to the game itself.... it is a chore to play through one of these titles start to end... have never managed to finish

A lot of gamers have a distorted opinion, maybe due to the dirth of games produced for the PS3, 360 and Wii, mostly 3rd party and mostly pretty generic FPS and mostly pretty meh!
Immediately on not seeing 20+ AAA titles on day one the Switch is criticised, and yet the launch line up for the PS4 and XBONE and 1st year releases were also pretty scare, in fact probably more so if you discount those games simultaneously released on the previous gen.
Even now how many XBONE/PS4 games are available that are AAA and not last gen HD remakes? not that many and what there are could have been made on the last gen in reality, it is only the latest VR stuff that couldn't and then that has the gameplay of a piece of bluetack.
I have both XBONE and PS4, (and have a Switch pre-ordered), don't get me wrong I love both but am not blown away by them, I still spend as much time, if not more on my PS3 and Wii U, a large proportion of the current games available are indie, and many if not most are available on the Wii U.
Like every other aspect of life, people read sound bites, and form opinions without looking at the reality, I have every Wii U game out and they are varied and mostly of the utmost quality, the only thing missing is perhaps more FPS games, and online murderfests for those who like them (not me),
If I compare my Wii U catalogue to that of the PS3 (again which I own most titles), the Wii U catalogue has much more variety in game types, and overall when I consider the length of time spent on each console it would be about even, or the Wii U would edge it slightly.
If the quality of Switch games matches the Wii U then I will be okay, the console is however in the fickle hands of the press and those who jump on jump on the COD/FIFA bandwagon.... I suspect it will outsell the Wii U within the first 12 months, but unless it has those aforementioned dull-ass titles then many, many gamers will not get on board.

First off I am slightly underwhelmed by the "performance specs" price mark, and that I cannot get it bundled with a 128/256gb sd card (N could have made life a little cheaper sourcing in bulk) but hey!
What I think is effectively we have yet another half way house from Nintendo, a console that sits somewhere in between generations in terms of power etc...
What annoys me is that Nintendo do not get credit for the innovation in their design, and I do not mean the gimmicks, I mean, the Switch is basically a dinky little device which is more powerful than the Wii U, 360 or PS3, how amazing is that, imagine PS3 games in the palm of you hand, anywhere any time!!!! not only that it can run current gen titles, so it may not be as underpowered as some are alleging.

Have it and still play it on the Wii, would have been tempted if it had been upscaled, how hard can it be to make an algorithm to convert Wii to WiiU? then the same to upscale, I can see the issues converting a game which made specific use of the wiimote and nunchuck as a pointer and motion sensor to taking facility of the gamepad, that would take human input....
After an initial woot! woot! I must admit that this is very disappointing, however for anyone who has never owned or played SMG2 then boy it's like xmas again!
The cynic in me has joined up with my paranoia and thinks that this is an attempt to milk as much and as quickly as possible due to a possible announcement later this year or early next, new console = coffin nails for the old... so rather than do a proper job that a game like SMG deserves Nintendo are throwing out this half hearted attempt to boost title numbers and scrape in a few extra coppers.
That said I may well get the Kirby games if released as they should have gamepad and pro support!
PS. Why no SMG first? seems strange to release 2 and not 1
I fail to see what this offers, unless you want to cross perving anime / hentai stylie and playing a crappy knock off of smash bros! if that's your bag go the whole hog and just find an illusion game for your PC.
Even for a beta the graphics and movement are pitiful, "watch my legs stay completely still as I float up into the sky, before beating you to death with a ribbon on a stick"
Would probably not bother wasting the bandwidth downloading this even if it were free!
Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine and Beyond Good and Evil not listed tsk tsk!
Metroid, Galaxy 1 and 2 are already compatible and good enough quality, HD would be nice but for someone who owns the WII versions it may not be a massive upgrade.
Metroid would be better for not using the wiimote and having proper controls, the other games listed do not really offer anything different than I could pick up for £5 second hand on my PS3 or XBOX360
Would like to see a HD Paper Mario compilation, and a HD redux of Pikmin 1 + 2 along the lines of Pikmin 3

On line is a massive boost, despite my heavy Nintedo bias I can't help feeling that Mod Nation Racers is still a better game in many ways, although MK is AWESOME it would have been nice to have a track customiser etc... to really indulge the MK fans, just think how good that would have been an MK8 track builder, and a massive online network to indulge creativity with!!! not to mention how much money N could have generated from DLC and Addons!
I pre-purchased MK8, my 9yo is a big fan, I have to give credit this is the best MK since Double Dash IMO, that said I still loathe the game with a vengance, I just cannot get past it not mattering how well I drive I get skanked from 1st down to 6th place 2 seconds from the line after being hit by a barrage of weapons,
Just wish there was a mode where you could disable all the weapons and just race.... SOOOO ANNOYING!!!!
That said completed the 50 and 100cc Grand Prix's before the actual release date!!!
