Lol, 6/10. As always I can't agree with NintendoLife reviewers. It's at least 7/10, if not 8. The price Is low, and it's the best next thing without an official Vanillaware port of Dragon Crown, Muramasa Blade and Odin Sphere on the Switch. Certainly it's not a masterpieces, but I'm having fun.
6/10? 🤣
If you give a solid game like this a 6/10 you basically condemn it to oblivion. And this game deserve to be played, even of it's not the most original and pretty derivative.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika well I know about what Nintendo does and did, but at the end of the day, I still buy their games, because they are good. There's not much we can do to send them a message unfortunately. I'm glad at least in this case the video was restored.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika harm the reputation? Meh, most people don't even know about this drama...they don't know about the C64 Mario game, they don't know about the various hack (roms) taken down only because Nintendo lawyers think it's piracy (technically they piracy, but hacking and modifying old games it's not a big deal), and much, much more.
@Zulzar seriously? I've been playing beat'em ups since the early '90s (Final Fight was my first, then Captain Commando, and then Knight of the Round...), and I think River City Girls Is One of the best I've ever played. So much fun!
@BulbasaurusRex what's wrong with pixels anyway? Do you hate pixels? Do you hate being able to count them one by one? And no, these graphics aren't ugly or lazy, they look AMAZING like (and probably even a bit more) those of Metal Slug and other great NEO GEO titles.
@FuzzBall the security system of the Switch was developed more than 5 years ago, at this point they can't do much about it if it was already defeated (well in some cases Sony was able to do something, but it was only a temporary solution).
@NinjaWaddleDee Don't worry, Nintendo will never offer anything on PC...they only made some (pathetic) games for smartphones, but the truth is that they don't want to have anything to do with platforms other than their own...
@UltimateOtaku91 there was a PS3 game that was ported to the PS Vita some years ago....granted that it wasn't really a complex game with spectacular gaphics, but still...now, Square Enix has more resources than those who developed that game for sure, if they wanted they could port it to the Switch. Of course a native port cost more than the cloud version.
@Wyndorfff @mlj11 to be honest I didn't expect something really different, there will probably be new bosses and enemies, some new locations (making the game bigger than the first one hopefully), there are 2 new playable characters (I guess)...as long as the game is fun like the first one it's not a big deal if they recycled many assets.
A shame some games don't get ported to PC at least (heck, even some Sony games are available there), but Nintendo will never allow that, obviously. Funny that one could in theory already play most Nintendo Switch games on a good pc already, though.

@Henmii the reviewer is wrong then. Not the first time on this site, btw.
Re: Review: Mechstermination Force - A Small But Perfectly Formed Boss-Battler

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Anime Games
@JeanPaul yeah, me too. Lodoss look pretty interesting.

Re: Review: Oddworld: Soulstorm - Ol' Abe Still Intrigues, But He's Shackled To The Past
@Strumpan It doesn't matter, it's still a series from the '90s.
Re: Review: River City Girls 2 - The Girls Are Back With A Strong, Albeit Safe, Sequel
@joezilla83 it's not their first questionable review. I've seen many good games receiving a bad or disappointing score from them.

Re: Review: River City Girls 2 - The Girls Are Back With A Strong, Albeit Safe, Sequel
@Bizzyb Hey, this Is Nintendolife, what do you expect? It's probably at least 8, 8 1/2.
Re: Review: River City Girls 2 - The Girls Are Back With A Strong, Albeit Safe, Sequel
@Zulzar lol what? what game have you even played? 🤣
Re: Review: Commando: Steel Disaster (DSiWare)
As always Nintendolife give bad scores to difficult games, even though they are more than decent.

@BulbasaurusRex lol, no, not at all! Btw, what you call "modern pixel art" Is not even pixel art...
Re: Review: The House Of The Dead: Remake - Control Issues Gnaw At Sega's Arcade Classic
@CharlieGirl what's wrong with this game and Panzer Dragoon??
Re: Review: Battle Axe - A Battling Throwback That Doesn't Land All Its Hits
@Silly_G why not both??
Re: Review: Battle Axe - A Battling Throwback That Doesn't Land All Its Hits
@BulbasaurusRex the art is not great? It's probably among the best pixel art I have ever seen!
Re: Review: Battle Axe - A Battling Throwback That Doesn't Land All Its Hits
@MJ1200 yep, at least 7/10 for me. 7.5 probably. But giving 5/10 is an absolute shame!
Re: Review: Battle Axe - A Battling Throwback That Doesn't Land All Its Hits
@Magrane It may be short, but it's fun! Also it's pretty hard, it will take a lot of time to finish the game of you are not a "pro"!
Re: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Gets A Meaty File Size, By Switch Standards
@ecco6t9 Is it such a big deal if you have to download part of the games from Nintendo's servers?
Re: Talking Point: How Many Hours Is A 'Short' Game For You?
If I can beat a game in 5 hours or less then it's really too short, but it also depends on how much I paid for that.
Re: Random: Uh-Oh, Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer' Is Generating A Lot Of Dislikes
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't even subscribe for a single month to try this expansion pack, right?

@FuzzBall what?

Re: Nintendo's Switch Exclusive Metroid Dread Is Already Being Emulated On PC
@FuzzBall do you think Switch games are not already super encrypted? Unfortunately for Nintendo hackers found some ways to "backup" the games anyway!

I would have been more surprised if it didn't work on emulators...

Re: Round Up: Here's What The Critics Think Of Nintendo Switch OLED
@CactusMan Don't do that, if you buy it Nintendo will delay the Switch Pro (or the Switch 2) for at least 1 year!

Time to buy, then!
Re: Three Kingdom Hearts Games Are Coming To Switch, But They're All Cloud Versions
@NintendoGamer22 well you can play them already of you want. I won't give them money for this lazy version.

@NintendoGamer22 insta-buy? To get more lazy cloud versions?

@moodycat Age of Calamity and SW5 are great games, this looks bland.

@SmileMan64 sure Samurai Warriors 5 is better than this...
Re: Review: Steel Assault - A Quick Bite To Savour With Classic Castlevania Flavour
@HamatoYoshi I played arcades in the '90s, but we aren't in the '90s anymore!!
Re: Review: Actraiser Renaissance - A Noble Attempt At Resurrecting The Godly 16-Bit Classic
From what I've seen it doesn't really seem a great game at all...especially the graphics.

@lokozar he seemed rather neutral, not disgruntled or anything like that in his statement.
