Hi all. Just letting you know that I received my SwitchGrip Pro yesterday and it's already leaving black marks on my joy-con. These marks eventually resulted in scratches on the original model.
In case you're wondering how, the left joy-con is being marked by the upper lip of the grip that sits slightly on top of the front-left side of the left joy-con. There is no silicon buffer here.
I've contacted Satisfye for a return and refund, but I wanted to ensure people are aware of the potential for marking/scratching to still occur along the front edges of joy-con.
I have used the Skull & Co. grip and the original Satisfye Gaming grip.
The OG Satisfye Gaming grip's biggest problem was the scratching of the joy-con, but it was also putting pressure on the inside of my right palm too, and it was often hard to reach the buttons on the same side - so it's good to see that these issues seem to be fixed.
However, the Skull & Co. grip will probably satisfy (ha!) most people. It's only real weakness is that it's not quite as comfortable to reach the right analogue stick as the Satisfye grip. But it has the added bonus of being able to be left on and docked at the same time (although you'll lose access to one or both of your side USB ports). If Skull & Co. made a grip that extended outward at a similar angle as the Satisfye grip, then the Skull & Co option would be the one and only choice worth making. Either way though, I'm interested to see whether the new Satisfye Gaming SwitchGrip Pro actually does make up for its scratching downfall... rolls the dice.
Lastly, I also sure hope that Satisfye Gaming's customer service team has improved. All they would do when the OG grip scratched my joy-con was blame Nintendo's manufacture process. Rest assured that if I have any similar problems and Satisfye Gaming respond with further poor customer service, I'll be screaming from the rooftops about it.
Anyway, I hope my experience and opinion is useful to someone out there.
@Menchi187 I've played with thicker add-on, and just like many people (especially those making throw-away disparagement's with no actual understanding), being thick isn't necessarily a good thing lol.
@Yorumi You're kidding right? Splatoon's controls were not necessarily intuitive when first picking it up - but they are now (even more so than typical shooting games on a console for me). Intuitive controls are somewhat dependent on the individual and their exposure to similar control schemes. Of course this will not necessarily be intuitive at first - but play it long enough and it'll get there.
@Ryu_Niiyama Absolutely. Except, for me, I was a big shooter fan on PC - but couldn't really stand them anymore on consoles (though I played a lot of GoldenEye back in the N64 days). Splatoon's motion controls have been a godsend and no doubt one of the key reasons I love that game so much. I'm keen to see what impact similar motion controls will have on my enjoyment of Star Fox Zero!

Re: Soapbox: No, Star Fox Zero's Controls Are not Bad or Broken
@Maxz Yes, yes, yes! Perfect examples of the ridiculous "it takes time to adjust to so it isn't inutitive" argument.
