@Cyberbotv2 Your exactly right, they have been trying for a couple of years now with some issues and have been delaying it since like 2018. Hopefully we see it sooner than later to see bigger games come to Switch. GTA V is totally able to run on it but the storage is an issue and micro transactions in GTA Online. It would sell like hot cakes though for being a portable experience.
I wonder how they plan on tackling the size of the game since it’s about 70 gb on Steam. Nintendo did discuss bringing 64 gb cartridges which would also help bring games like GTA V. It would definitely be expensive for developers since most don’t even use the 32 or 16 gb ones, but it would be nice to have the option to. The Switch Pro will also need to bump up internal storage to something more reasonable like 128 or 256 gb.
$50 is a little steep for it. I’ll pick it up when it goes on sale around Black Friday for around $19.99-$29.99 and when they tweak the game some more.
@GannonBanned More power to you, but just because you don’t want those features doesn’t mean others don’t as well. If the 3ds with its pixelated screen has Netflix and those features, it doesn’t make sense for the Switch to be missing them either. If it’s released, cool just ignore it, but for those who actually want it, it’ll be a difference maker.
New hardware or not, I think it’s fair to demand more things from the software side of things. Themes, folders, a Netflix app, Web browser, Discord, proper friend system, and others can take the system over the top. Maybe if we’re lucky they’ll release a new version of Miiverse as well. If the 3ds/Wii U has all of these things, then it’s a no brainer for the Switch to have them as well.
Nintendo buys Sega and will finally have Persona 5 on the Switch this way. The SMT and Persona duo will be very enticing to see on one unified console.
@Silly_G yup, that’s true and true. If they want to stay relevant they need bigger storage on the game card and increase the Pro’s internal one to 128 gb. A portable version of GTA 5 that’s either an improved version of the ps3/360 or downgraded version of the ps4/xb1 would sell like crazy. It’s available for 3 generations of consoles so leaving out the Switch with its sales is not a smart business decision. Especially since LA Noire runs fine on it using the same RAGE engine. Rdr1 would be cool too.
It would be nice if Nintendo brings that 64 gb game cartridge to fruition since they wanted to implement it since 2018. This not only would double the capacity from 32 but will allow bigger games to launch such as GTA 5. Of course there’s the Switch Tax to look at but it would be a nice option for developers to bring their games over given their size.
