Re: Random: Metroid Prime 3 Dev Left Retro Studios After "Unhealthy Relationship" With Nintendo Micromanagement

Ehhh it's Nintendo, you were hired by them to make a game using their IP. I'm sure it's frustrating, and if you were making a game with an IP you owned, I would definitely agree with the "go away" comment.

Also, lets be real, Nintendo's "micromanaging" straight up saved Retro Studios, and gave them the opportunity to work with one of their best (imo) franchises over multiple games. Given that history, I find it a bit distasteful to complain about it.

Re: So, Will You Be Listening To The New Mobile App Nintendo Music?

This is a fantastic idea, something they actually should have done years ago. I’m concerned that by waiting so long, they may miss out on a lot of streams, as the people most interested in these songs have likely already downloaded them from illegal sources (not moralizing—I’m one of them).

That said, I’ll definitely download it to see what’s available and will start using it if the app is free of annoyances.

Re: Early Tech Analysis Suggests Paper Mario's Thousand-Year Door Remaster Might Run At 30FPS

@HeadPirate Mate you sound like you have no idea what you're talking about.

"Most games SHOULD NOT TARGET 60fps"

Ridiculous. MOST games should absolutely be targeting 60fps, unless there is a very good reason not to. It's 2023 for god sake. Games like Breath of the Wild, Starfield, GTA etc are excusable because of how massive and demanding these open worlds are.

Masahiro Sakurai himself refers to 60FPS as "ideal"..

"most of the time 30 fps and motion blur is going to be literally indistinguishable from 60 fps"

This is 100 percent false, and ignores the fact that frame rate isn't solely about the graphics..

Which bring me to "Even worse if the idea that 30 fps might cause "latency" for button pushes. Literally the opposite of the truth."

I don't know how you came to this conclusion, but that's absolutely false. More frames = more times per second inputs are registered = less input lag

Not trying to be rude, I understand a lot of people swear they cannot tell a difference in frame rates. I don't know how this is possible, I would like to see studies done on it tbh.

Just want to say for people who CAN see it, it makes a world of difference. ESPECIALLY those unfortunate enough to suffer motion sickness from low/inconsistent frame rates. I can tell a games frame rate most of the time just by navigating menus for a couple of seconds.
