@Midnight3DS Although i'm guilty of letting my frustration get the better of me, I can't help but agree. We're not achieving anything with this nonsense.
Haha, I love how after you're done yammering about this so called 'traditional marriage' you have the audacity to talk about treating gay people "fairly without thought to their sexual preferences". Hypocrisy truly is a wonderful thing.
Also, perhaps some people don't understand this, but being gay ain't a choice. Your petty religious beliefs on the other hand, are. Just think about that before you go screaming about discrimination towards your high and mighty 'beliefs'.
I know Contra is something of a niche game nowadays, but honestly, I'd rather it stay that way than see a MercurySteam reboot of it. After what they did to Castlevania, I shudder to think of what they could do to Contra, especially in today's market.
Although sometimes I can't help but feel that all these retro inspired indie games are kind of over saturated, I won't deny that I really like the looks of this one. I'll definitely keep an eye on it!
Ah man, Mirror of Fate... i'm still a bit sore about that one. Or at least as sore as one can be about videogames.
Although I really wasn't a huge fan of 'metroidvania' genre the series would adopt in more modern times, I felt they at least captured the spirit of the games that came before it, bringing some new blood to the series, yet still feeling like... well, a Castlevania game.
This Lords of Shadow sub series on the other hand makes changes so drastic to both the aesthetics and gameplay that it feels like it should have just been its own game entirely. It completely fails to capture any of what I originally came to love about the series in the first place, and to make matters worse the games just aren't exactly brilliant even on their own merit.
As much as I've tried, this is one change I just can't get to grips with.
Change can be good thing, providing said changes are, y'know, good. I'll agree that the series perhaps needed a bit of a boot up the arse after the increasingly bland metroidvania games, but good lord, this isn't the solution! Not only have MercurySteam failed to capture the essence of what made me love the series in the first place, its not even a good game on its own merit.
That being said, this is (admittedly) going off of what I played of the demo and various gameplay videos, but unless somehow the game drastically improves in quality later in, i'm really struggling to look at this one in a positive light.
I know this is all a bit ranty, but man, this Lords of Shadow sub series has been nothing but a big ol' disappointment for me so far, no matter how much I try to convince myself otherwise. I can only hope the series gets itself out of this rut soon-ish, but hey ho.
Ah man, turns out I was a little quick too judge with this one. I went back to it recently, and despite a few uh, 'teething troubles' with the controls, its grown on me quite a bit. Its always worth giving these things a second chance it seems!
I've been playing this one for a little while now, and it just ain't doing it for me. Kind of a shame, but still, i'm glad I got the opportunity to play it.
Ah, what a pity! But I have to ask, whats to stop them from moving the project onto another platform? Surely size limitations alone can't warrant for the complete cancellation of the game?
I know its been said a few times now, but jeez, it really takes more than a few influences from Turrican doesn't it? Not that it matters, what with the game looking as fantastic as it does.
I'll be picking this one up, but not straight away. Cave Story is a great game, for sure, but at this point i've played through it too many times (by which I mean, uh, twice) for this to be an insta-buy.
@21. Thats quite the conclusion you came to there Mullster! I didn't mean goofy in a particularly bad way, its just that when you're dealing with a game with Boomerang Flowers, Tanooki Boo's and... well, general Mario wackiness, 'goofy' just seemed like a good word to describe it all, y'know?
Then again, I did just use the word 'wacky' for kinda the same purpose. I guess it has a slightly more positive twang to it, maybe I should've used that. Huzzah!
While this game wasn't up to snuff with what you'd expect from a Wario platformer, I did get a decent amount of enjoyment out of it. Its about a 7 outta 10 for me.
Eh, I might buy this. I played the PS2 original, and while it was far from being a bad game, it wasn't exactly one of my favourite entries into the series. Still, i'm glad its finally going to see a proper release in Europe!
Yeah, I always found the Sonic Adventure games to be a bit rubbish in all honesty. They have plenty of charm (sorta), but at the end of the day they're just not very good games.
I'd argue that some of the visuals in Windwaker have aged a bit, but regardless, its still a very pretty game. Personally i'm not seeing this whole 'blur' shindig, but then again i'm not particularly picky about those kinda things.

Re: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies Confirmed For This Fall in the West
Digital only, eh? Not a deal breaker for me, but gosh darn it, I like plastic 'n paper clogging up my shelves!
Re: Rumour: Tomodachi Collection: New Life Update to Remove Same-Sex Marriage
Please, that comparison is horribly offensive. Let's not go there — TBD
Apologies, I went way over the top. Sorry to make your job more difficult than it already is, TBD.
Re: Rumour: Tomodachi Collection: New Life Update to Remove Same-Sex Marriage
@Midnight3DS Indeed. If they were too turn it into a full-fledged feature, it'd probably need a lot of thought and fleshing out.
Still... it would've been neat too see 'em make the effort! Pipe dreams though, eh?
Re: Rumour: Tomodachi Collection: New Life Update to Remove Same-Sex Marriage
Disappointingly predictable. Oh well!
Re: Shovel Knight's Order of No Quarter Boss Lineup is Finalised
Gosh, to think that when I first saw this shizzle I passed it off as just another generic, retro inspired indie game. How silly I was!
Seriously though, this game is lookin' to be freakin' amazing. Fingers crossed it turns out that way!

Re: Tomodachi Collection: New Life Features Same-Sex Marriage For Men, But Not Women
It's sad that sexual preference is still an issue. Weird world.
Re: Tomodachi Collection: New Life Features Same-Sex Marriage For Men, But Not Women
Haha, man, if it really is a bug, I hope they turn it into a proper feature!
Re: The Story of an Abandoned Mega Man FPS, Maverick Hunter, Emerges
I'm still getting my head around the fact that this almost became, y'know, a thing.
