Re: Review: Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition (Switch) - Returns For Another Pass With A Top-Flight Port

@Shiryu best not go and watch the digital foundry breakdown of it. Literally every version has the same slowdown in certain scenarios. This version is incredibly good and not at all bad enough to be deemed to have performance issues it's simply not the case. A micro stutter here and there will be found in any game on any platform if you know where to look it doesn't mean those are suffering performance issues.i mean you gave it a 9 anyway I honestly don't know why I'm even arguing about it. It's a pointless waste of life. Good job on the review .

Do you know how I know you didn't learn many of the systems, because you wrote words that show me you didn't learn the systems. The combat is exceptional, master strokes and combos make you a killing machine. You didn't mention that. Armour. Armour choices and maintenance make it easy to fight large groups. You didn't mention it. Oh...and....you compared it to...Dark Souls. SMH.

Re: Review: Sakuna: Of Rice And Ruin - A Unique Farming Sim Which Requires Vast Reserves Of Patience

SirWalrus

Oh wow. Your writer has completely missed the point of the game. The reference to Japanese perfectionism and the intentional design that the development team went with in that regard - did your writer play enough to unlock the new abilities that aid with the perfect planting?

This game is a borderline masterpiece and to think of the hundreds of games you've given 8/9 to that didn't deserve it...this is depressing.

Re: Review: Transformers: Battlegrounds - Accessible Turn-Based Action That's For Noobs Only

SirWalrus

This is missing information guys. You can select your difficulty which directly effects the amount of skill points you gain and unlocks you get. The difficulty in hard (which is where an adult should be playing) is fine. You mentioned lots of good and then gave the game a 6... Why? It made no sense. I know scores are subjective, but you subjectively wrote a 7/8 out of 10 review and then seemingly just have a random 6 because.

Re: Review: Hypercharge: Unboxed - Lighthearted FPS Action That Mixes Toy Story With Small Soldiers

SirWalrus

How far did you get in the game? Why no mention of the amazing plague mode? When everything gets an 8 for being crap how has this objectively good game got a 7 when you had no real flaws?;

Not worth it for single player - nonsense, it can be great for a single player.

No real sense of danger - again, absolute nonsense you didn't play enough of the game. You've not gone with the different difficulties and clearly not reached the latter stages.

People respect you guys, but it's getting very apparent that you're rushing these out without checking the play time of your reviewer. Also, did 4 of you play this together? I hope so.

Re: Random: Not All Joy-Con Are Created Equal

SirWalrus

Perhaps actually use them. Here I'll do your job.

The curved joycon you can see at the top right are actually a very reasonable second pair option. Not only do they have vibration and motion controls but they are less than half the price of a single official joycon.

The analogue sticks aren't quite as comfortable as the official: opting for a more unusual concave surface however the analogues themselves seem just fine with zero drifting thus far.

Don't expect NFC or HD Rumble, but the old school rumble does the job. The interesting oval buttons require a little more pressure to use but are satisfyingly clicky and the shoulder buttons may actually be preferred to the original which sometimes felt awkward.

The final point, the shape for larger hands can feel more comfortable for longer play sessions.

Final verdict: for £15 shipped this pair of unofficial joycon may not quite match the official Nintendo ones but they do a great job for a fraction of the price and don't suffer the dreaded drift.

You're welcome.

Re: My Time At Portia Will Receive An Early Switch Patch To Improve Poor Loading Times

SirWalrus

@MetalGear_Yoshi when you enter and leave any building the game loads. Before leaving your house could take 1.30- 3 minutes to load it was insane. It's now around 10 seconds. I've not counted but it's substantially better. It also used to load every time you spoke to someone it would just pause for a second it was horrible. The same goes for shops they would take around 3-5 seconds if not longer just to show you what they had. All fixed.

Re: Psyonix Reveals Details Of The New Graphics Update For Rocket League

SirWalrus

@gb_nes_gamer No no no no no no sorry but no. Offline (for seasoned players) is ridiculously easy and offers no real value. Online (after about 100-1000 hours) is a joy. It really is amazingly competitive and being able to carry a ball through the entire length of the field in the air only to tap it around the keeper is amazing. This ONLY comes from HOURS and HOURS of online practice. If you limit yourself to offline, you aren't really playing Rocket League the way it was intended.
