I don't think ARMS will have the same brand power that Splatoon has. Splatoon from its original reveal had a very unique aesthetic and musical style, and was a fresh take on a genre Nintendo has barely even touched. ARMS doesn't really have that going for it. The characters look like they're taken straight out of DreamWorks movies, and as a fighting game it looks pretty clunky. I think Splatoon will continue to overshadow it in the Switch era.
Not surprising. If you look at the preorder numbers from the financial briefing Japan still preordered more copies of SM than XY, but the difference wasn't huge. I'd put my money on North America and Europe selling massive amounts at launch, outpacing XY's numbers.
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy I believe Akihiro Hino said that the series would be put on hiatus in 2017, partly to catch the rest of the world up, to generate more hype for a new game, and one can infer to learn the architecture of the NX. Yo-kai Watch 3 Sushi and Tempura have been smash hits in Japan, but not as much so as Yo-kai Watch 2. The hype for the series is certainly slowly declining, and taking a break was a good idea on Level 5's part.
@LiamR Ooooooh, you wrote the article! I'm sorry I said that, I'm a huge doofus! It's a shame it's not an RPG, though. Is there anything else you are at liberty to tell us?
This is the perfect opportunity for my idea for an amiibo RPG to come to fruition. It would be your stereotypical turn-based RPG, but all of your party members are amiibo you scanned in, meaning that if you have a big collection you can replay it over and over again and have different experiences. All first-party amiibo figures would be compatible (because 400 Animal Crossing cards seems a tad unbalanced), and certain characters would belong to certain classes depending on their characteristics. Some characters like Mario and Luigi might have the opportunity to change classes at points in-game, to correspond with their numerous powerups. This of course probably isn't what NST is developing, but it's just an idea I've been milling about.

Re: The Third Pokèmon Sun and Moon Global Mission is Now Live
1 million on the GTS? Sure, this is possible. But if it was Wonder Trade, we'd no doubt be able to hit that number.

Tekken 7? Marvel vs Capcom Infinite??? Please, Bamco and Capcom!

@Gorlokk Ha, glad to see I wasn't the only person who thought about that song!

Re: Nintendo Has Quite A Bit Of Maintenance Planned For Today
Hm, we have all of the big Wii U titles on the board here EXCEPT for Splatoon. I don't know about you, but I find that rather odd.
Re: The Yo-Kai Watch Franchise Has Now Shipped Over 10 Million Copies
@ikki5 But the reviews were mostly positive. Most reviewers had very little issues with it.
Re: New Details Emerge Around Phoenix's Story in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6
@raccoonboy Well, there are still a LOT of loose ends untied with Apollo Justice in Dual Destinies. Maybe this game will finish his story.
And as for Maya, they HAVE TO bring her back. They're in the country that her family's channeling technique was founded in, for God's sake.
Re: New Details Emerge Around Phoenix's Story in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6
@Spectra_Twilight They already did that in Bridge to the Turnabout.
But yeah, same concept. It's the way cases in this series have always been, just with a sp00py way of displaying it.
Re: Rumour: Data Miner Discovers Three Empty Character Slots in Super Smash Bros.
If we get Phoenix Wright, Knuckles, Bandana Dee or Zero, I can die happy.
