Still it lacks the "fun" that Bullet Girls Phantasia and previous Shade titles had. Just throwing some shade in there because that is what makes up of the meat of your typical PSV era inspired niche weeb game
We know, I am sad that Mother 3 never got localized, but better than alienating a fanbase and turning them into bitter cynical haters who expect nothing good from you.
You are in luck, this was a PS Vita port like the other Genkai Tokki games. Idea factory haven't made these kinds of games since Sony alienated the dev base and their diehard fans.
It was happier times, when Sony allowed such games on their Platform instead of forcing them to conform to unreasonable guidances that gave us Senran X Neptunia.
You will be most relieved to realize the genkai tokki series isn't coming back any time soon because of what Sony did to fanservice driven games (they killed it with their guidelines)
I was talking @PJOreily, he made some reviews where he panned the game for sexual content and the weebs on Nintendo Life took offense to that. Personally I don't mind if a review like that gets negative reception but fans of such games are already in a situation where they feel like they are constantly getting attacked by critics.
Worksafe NSFW, the fine line between outright porn and just lewd content that won't get blocked on school wifi.
@Dakotastomp
You are expecting a father with kids to give the glowing review about Gal Gun is something that wasn't going to happen any time soon.
Still this game made me made my peace with how Inti Creates handles their line of work in being a 16+ Indie label since they also made Gunvolt Franchise, Blaster Master and how they just openly embrace the naughtier side of Megaman that we didn't think too much about when we were kids.
And once again, you are NOT entitled to anything. It's the site's decision to decide to gets to publish a review for the game and when they make that decision, its final. Live with that decision and if you like the game, you like the game. But do not cry about how you are entitled to subjectivity once the decision is made.
So the idea is that we should go back to the 90's era of journalist where the reviewer is little more than overenthusiastic mouthpiece for corporations vs someone with actual criticism that has been relegated to being called social justice just because they don't have the same flippant attitude as someone in their teenage years to young adulthood. Sometimes you just got admit you win some and lose some and move on.
And Pete's tweet aimed at sniping me shows how unprofessional he is when he comes handling criticism from the peanut gallery. He can do better than what other like minded but failed journalists who cover this genre can do because that is how they failed.
Pete Davidson wrote a couple of articles for Nintendo Life a while back after he made a bitchfit op-ed on the Gun Gun Pixies review. Now that was a complete ***** storm.
@PeteDavison
Well covid taught me the art of disappointment and channeling into wokeness.
Yes it did. But you only had one life per mission. What it did was so you dont drop your powerups. It was similar to how Raiden V works. You had one life per run but you had armor that replenishes at the end every stage
Ever heard of the Lannister's saying "the lion doesn't concern himself with the opinion of the sheep"? You should consider that when you forget your place in the hierarchy and decide to get outraged at being put in your place. When it comes to such reviews, remember this...
Or he can continue to block stupid comments from people like you who clearly cannot understand their place as the sheep to the Nintendo Life's Lion.
@Dakotastomp
To amend things is to apologize, and to apologize is to admit you have less integrity than a sellout. I prefer someone with strong opinions over something over milquetoast like Pete Davison
Major game reviewers are not obliged to review every game as they usually have backlogs where they release information given to them for coverage. The fact that NL even gave your game a glance when they can cover other games should be that you be grateful your games got coverage from something that come out an alt right hugbox like OAG or Niche
Learn your place at the hierarchy of the audience catered to. You are among the worst of the worst for the press, the untouchables of gaming with poor tastes and worse life decisions. You can either go back to Niche, Moegamer and OAG where the echo chamber well exists despite making less money than NL or you can take the lumps that goes along with your hobby because the press is not entitled to give what you deserve which is frankly nothing.
How about we let the ones with strong opinions stay instead? Not every site is like Niche, OAG or Moegamer (which O'Reilly blocked) because quite frankly, Pete Davison is a embarassment. A $78/mo in Patreon Earnings asking for the time of someone who work for a site that makes 10 times as much as he does...MINIMUM.
So he is entitled to his opinion and not respond to the equivalent of a nobody or his band of outcast misfits. If Moegamer made as much as Nintendo Life did, he can do a back and forth. But as it stand, you and your fans have absolutely no grounds to justify your mediocre games which have outstayed their welcome on PS4 and now looking to contaminate Nintendo.
@BMOC
Well Pete Davison of moegamer use to be one of them, but he got fired because exactly of that. Take that as you may...
Adding to that, these games were first released on the Vita during it's waning years. Instead of good titles, all the Vita had was games like Gun Gun Pixies and the Switch is too eager to take in all these titles without quality checks. The fans can argue how they are being insulted by the critics but the reality is that these Vita ports felt like it took no effort except for those willing to pay full price for mediocre at best games.
I honestly don't find it to be clickbait at all. In fact I appreciate the strong opinions journalists have over here vs the East where it felt like the press have no freedom to criticize anything outside of personal blogs. If you feel that your insulted, you will have to turn to smaller blogs without a metacritic footprint which speaks more about their ability to create a site people would actually be interested in versus the controversial but necessary opinions that the author made.
The current generation of journalists dont like these games because it is completely out of touch with gaming trends and given this a port of a Vita Game that never got localized at least it can get the official dunking by the press it deserves instead of pandering to a shrinking yet vocal fanbase.
GGP is part of the library that presented the utterly miserable state of the Vita in its waning years. Insteaf of first party games the Vita had this instead and it is easily eaten up by fans who want their fanservice fix before anything else.
This game justifies EGS' existence and Sony's content controls among other low budget games from Compile Heart and Tamsoft
@Ralizah The niche games never were the main focus for PS4/PSV, it was more of less the only viable option for Japanese developers as Nintendo had their audience who wouldn't touch anything non first party unless it feels "exclusive" and no one buys XBOX in Japan. We only had good games from Japan over the last few years and these games simply don't fit the narrative
But the big issue is the companies stretched the limits of the rules Sony given them. Pushing for as sexual as it gets without hitting CERO Z and thus behind the counter status which is a death sentence for these budget devs who consider 10k sales a success. But Sony isn't going to put up with low effort games relying on fanservice gimmicks instead of saying "Yup we are going to have mature sexual content in our game".
@nessisonett
Western games do when they have sexual content, but they are beyond such juvenile opinons
