I was able to pick a Switch Oled up off the shelf a few days before Christmas and they are still readily available in the UK. A year after launch and you are lucky if you can pick up a PS5 or XsX - that's a supply issue!
Might pick it up if its cheap, but seeing as it's coming to Switch it will likely come with a premium price tag so will skip it. It was fun but had some serious loading and performance issues if I remember correctly.
Might pick this up if it has decent online (more than 2 maps at a time) and a decent horde mode. It also needs native voice chat. Playing team based shooters is almost impossible when you are stuck on a team with randoms up against a squad that is obviously communicating and I hate having to rely on discord to find a squad and then use my phone to talk. I bought the Switch to play in bed, I dont want to rely on multiple devices just to get the same experience that I'm used to on my PlayStation or Xbox.
@Yosher I love cloud gaming, unfortunately Nintendo doesn't have the infrastructure in place to effectively support it. They need to adopt a subscription model in line with PS now and Gamepass instead of charging the same price for a handful of old emulations.
After watching the trailer I'm not seeing what's next gen about this (especially after watching the Matrix Tech Demo), It looks like a fairly generic F-Zero/Wipout clone.
@Meteoroid surely it's going to have an impact on sales, I would have definitely picked it up for Switch but not going to if it costs more than I can elsewhere. I can't be the only person who thinks like this, especially if every indie game is £5 more on Switch. Buy ten "throw away" Indie games and it's cost you an extra £50 (that's 6 months of Gamepass!)
Really like tye look of this and when I checked the price its £5 more than the Steam version? What's different with the Switch version that costs more as I can't see any mention of additional features
@Giancarlothomaz so a pretty miserable lineup really. For comparison On xbox there's been: Battlefield 2042 Cod Vanguard Back 4 Blood Forza 5 Halo Infinite Psychonaughts 2
Most of which are also available to play for free for a few pound more than Nintendo charges to play N64 games. I'm pretty new to Switch and so far I'm really underwhelmed and definitely have buyers remorse.
@Otoemetry I don't buy old games at full price so have little interest in the Switches back catalogue. I bought it to play Metroid which I completed in a weekend and now have nothing to play on it
@westman98 played Pokemon on Gameboy and I'm not payingthat price for a HD paint job (it doesn't even have matchmaking fir online battles) Mario Party doesn't have voice chat which makes a party game pointless for me (don't have friends who play so would be dependent on random matchmaking and I hate gaming in silence) and I've completed Metroid Dread.
Hopefully we get a big reveal even if it isn't Zelda as there's hardly any AAA games announced for Switch. Ive got nothing to play on a new (to me) console - Where is Nintendo's big Holiday release this year?
Pretty sure this will cost more than I would want to spend - especially given you can pick it up elsewhere for less than. £15 Shame the switch can't handle the newer Ubisoft games though as I would have liked to play AC Valhalla or Farcry 6 on the go.
Something like this could easily become my handheld ging platform of choice. I already use my phone to game way more than my switch. I have access to big AAA games like Doom Eternal and Skyrim that run much better on my phone via gamepass than they do on my Lite - same sized screen & 1080 60FPS on mobile vs 720 30fps on Switch.
@Silly_G "they gave the Let’s Go games PG ratings for both violence and themes."
In fairness, a game that glorifies the catching of wild animals before forcing them to fit in cages should probably have a parental guidance rating. Its cartoon dog fighting!!!

Re: Random: Twitch Streamer Encounters Double Shiny In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Starter Battle
@sanderev so you could sell them using a marketplace (like facebook) like you could with AC villagers.
Re: Random: Twitch Streamer Encounters Double Shiny In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Starter Battle
@sanderev are they tradable and could you sell them to other players?

Re: Global Chip Shortages And Supply Issues To Continue Into 2023, Says Intel Boss
The Chip shortage will definitely help Nintendo this Christmas, the Switch is pretty much the only console that you can buy off of the shelf.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 11th)
More Warframe and I will probably give the Matrix Awakens demo a try out.

Nice to hear that they are announcing new titles instead of more ports of old games?
Re: Multiplayer Arena Shooter 'Warshmallows' Fires Onto Switch In January
This looks fun, hopefully the online is stable and gets enough people playing to make it sustainable.

Re: Game Journalist Thinks The Next Zelda: BOTW 2 Reveal Is Likely To Be In 2022
@westman98 so two remakes and a 6 hour 2d side scroller were Nintendo's killer AAA holiday games. Slow game year

I wonder if the Pheromone Z dlc will be available in this package or will the try charging more than the game for it again.
Will definitely pick it up but will hold off until its on sale.

Re: Deals: Amazon UK Has The Ring Fit Adventure Nintendo Switch Bundle In Stock
This still seems crazy expensive for such an old console/game.
You can get an Xbox Series S and a years gamepass for less money.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 27th)
I'm working but hopefully I get to play some Warframe on my phone if I get any downtime -I still need a ton of Aya for those new Primes.
