I had a feeling that that was the reason the price dropped in the first place. I can't be angry at a guy who just wants the 3DS to sell (more) units and become (more) popular. Apology accepted, Mr. Iwata!
Truth be told, all was forgiven after the announcement of 20 free games.
I bet this next character will be just as awesome as Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Zelda, Luigi, Fox, Yoshi, and Olimar. Miyamoto is a master at making icons. Maybe we'll see a new genre, too!
Opinions, opinions. He gave his honest opinion and stated some flaws. I don't think that he was bashing. He called it "interesting" and predicted "great things." So what if there are a few holes?
This was unexpected! It looked interesting after its Nintendo Power article, but seeing it get a 9 makes it look even better! Perhaps I should consider getting this for Christmas...
I'm guessing because Angry Birds is already extremely popular everywhere else, so naturally it should head to Nintendo consoles, too. Plus, the Wii U controller kinda looks like an iPad, so it should go together like bread and butter.
That Wizard of Oz script sounds more Mario-ish than the final one. THAT would have made the movie a bit better. But HILDY!? Seriously? I'm glad the Princess was Daisy (even though Toadstool would have been a better choice; Daisy has only been captured once compared to the thousands of times Peach has).
I think the Wii U is more of an evolution than a revolution. Better yet, it's a hybrid of Nintendo's best ideas over the last few years. I do think that using the controller to play a game while somebody else uses the TV is revolutionary, though.
I know it's been done to death, but a video gaming mobile phone from Nintendo sounds really cool! Plus, unlike most mobile phone video games, the ones on an alleged "Nintenphone" would be full-fledged adventures, not just time killers (there would still be those kinds of games, of course).
I doubt an FPS-only future will happen. As long as there are fans of the other genres, those said genres will still be alive. Besides, mobile phone games that aren't shooters (such as Angry Birds) are as popular as those FPSs, so a future of only shooters is highly unlikely. Bottom line, Mr. Iwata: It won't happen (at least not worldwide; FPSs are most popular in North America). If the thought about that kind of future makes you sad, don't think about it!
Flying NiGHTS around with the Circle Pad would be a dream come true. Hopefully, if there is a new NiGHTS game, it won't have boring 3D platforming sections with the kids and inpossible bosses (I hated that chameleon magician).
Also, if Sega is thinking about installments of other treasued series, they should consider Shenmue 3 and Ristar 2.
I'm thinking the Wii U will be easy for Nintendo to sell. I'm expecting tons of casual-friendly games for families and retirement homes, in addition to a promising lineup of "hardcore" third-party titles for extreme gamers. Since both major gaming classifications will be catered to, all Nintendo needs to do is make some clever TV ads (hopefully not cheesy like the early Wii commercials). This will be a money-printer no doubt.
Please, Retro, make Super Mario American Football! They already have a good concept that was originally developed years ago. Now's the time to make it shine! Maybe on Wii U?
I know something like this has already been posted in the article, but another good lesson from Mega Man is "If at first you don't succeed, try try again." Dr. Wily does it all the time! Plus, many inexperienced players do this after dying so many times. Think of it as a follow-up to "Life is Hard".
@Dragoon: Sonic Advance didn't have voice clips. The only game in the Advance series that did was Sonic Advance 3.
Someday I should play this game. It looks like fun, especially after reading this review. I owned Sonic Advance 2, which is fun but a bit too hard. Good review!
That's a bit problematic if you want a copy of the game and want to start it new, but you can't find it in stores... I hope this isn't a trend that will continue for other games...
As a gamer, some of my fondest memories come from Sonic the Hedgehog. When I was young, I would visit my grandparents and play Sonic the Hedgehog on their Genesis. Sonic was the first game I could actually master without stinking. Later, I purchased a GameCube and Sonic Mega Collection so that I could experience all the Genesis Sonic games in my home. From those days and beyond, I was hooked on Sonics. I looked forward to the new Sonic games and wished that Sonic's glory days would return during his slump of mediocrity. When I realized that my wishes came true last year, I jumped for joy. Sonic still holds a special place in my heart.
I prefer Mario Kart, but Diddy Kong Racing is fun, too. If Conker was going to appear in another racing game, he would be hard to control, due to drunk driving.
I remember my first Sonic experience. I was playing my grandmother's Genesis. Sonic the Hedgehog was the first game I could play without stinking too badly. These memories are great, too. Happy birthday, Mr. Needlemouse!
Don't hurt me if my prediction is wrong, but Nintendo Week did mention something special happening on the eShop later this week related to the eight Sonic DS games. Stay tuned!
More 3DS systems will be purchased once the holidays come. I know this thing will be able to be a "money printer," like Nintendo's other handhelds (except for the Game Boy Micro).
Better late than never, Jack. Besides, when the Wii U's sales begin to rise, Sony will copy the idea like always.
Anyways, this is a bit more innovative than what we were seeing in 2006. Was any developer releasing a controller with a screen in it? I don't think so! I think Jack is just jealous...

What, no cheesy song?

Add a diamond, then one more...

Happy 25th, Samus! I hope you set off on a 3DS adventure in the future!

Re: Mario Kart 7
Mario Kart... 7... I sure hope Nintendo changes the name of this game before it comes out. Looks awesome, though.
Re: Talking Point: The NES Games You Want on 3DS Virtual Console
Super Mario Bros. 3
Kid Icarus
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Contra
DuckTales

Re: Shinobi on 3DS Remains Hidden Until November
If the November date means that Sega and Griptonite Games will take longer to perfect the game, then that's okay with me.
Re: Get Ready to Catch Pokémon Rumble Blast on your 3DS
Hmm... It was good for $15, but it has to really blow my mind if I have to pay $40 for it. I'll read a review first.

Rick Rolling? That is soooooo 2007.
In all seriousness, Game & Watch Gallery is looking mighty fine. Its price looks good, too!
Re: Netflix Arrives on 3DS in North America Tomorrow
Sweet.
Re: North America Nintendo Video Service Due "Later This Summer"
It will probably launch in late August. At least that's what I'm predicting.

Re: Cliff Bleszinski Thinks Wii U Naysayers Will Still Buy It
Even Cliffy B. is supporting Wii U. This system is going to be great.

Re: Wii U is Technically 3D-Ready
Sweet. I don't care if I'm at home playing games with 3D glasses. Out in public is another story.
Re: 3DS Getting a Piece of Rayman Origins Too
I'm going to get the Wii version. I love co-op platformers. They're hilariously entertaining.

Re: 3D Classics Urban Champion Coming to Brawl on eShop Soon
Urban Champion..... Seriously?
I would like to see Super Mario Bros., F-Zero, and A Link to the Past as 3D Classics.

Thank. Goodness. I love happy endings.
Re: Super Mario 3DS Has a Wardrobe of Famous Power-Up Suits
Hammer Suit, Kuribo's Shoe, Cloud Flower, Cape Feather (for enhanced flying), and the Frog Suit (but only in underwater levels, please).
EDIT: That's right.... There's no flying in this game...
Re: Features: Bizarre Emails Sent to Nintendo Life - Volume 3
That was hilarious. That last e-mail was... interesting...
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th June 2011 (North America)
Final Fantasy VI AND Kirby's Dream Land!? This is GREAT!
Re: Zelda is No Longer Royalty in Skyward Sword
Maybe near the end of the game, she will become royal. Even if Zelda's not a princess anymore, Skyward Sword will still be a great game.
Re: Ocarina of Time at One Point Confined Within Ganon's Castle
I'm glad Mr. Miyamoto changed his mind about just having Ganon's Castle. The game wouldn't have been as open and vast with just that.

Re: Feature: The Sonic Games That Never Were

I was never aware of Sonic Extreme before! If it was a bit faster and had all its bugs eliminated, it would have been an awesome final release!
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog is 20 Years Old Today

Just kidding. I understand that Thursday is the new Download Day. I don't care if Monday's blue, though.
