Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?

PressTurn

The hardware is great. Third parties are showing up, if a little later than expected. I have had no shortage of good stuff to play on it since launch as a result.

The issue is Nintendo's own output has been slightly underwhelming for me. Bananza is a masterpiece, but everything else has been sort of a mixed bag – I love Mario Kart World, but it's an infuriating regression from 8 Deluxe in a lot of baffling ways; Pokemon Legends ZA is a good game, but again a very major step back from Legends Arceus in a lot of unnecessary ways; Age of Imprisonment was okay, but I am starting to get fatigued by the BOTW continuity at this point; I just got Metroid Prime 4 earlier today and will start it over this weekend, but reviews have not seemed encouraging at all.

It's a little surprising, but all the games I named still hit a baseline of good at the very least, so it's not like I've been lacking in things to play (before we even get to talking about third parties); it's just surprising to me, because I can usually count on Nintendo to deliver a bunch of great games every year, and this year, they've only delivered... a bunch of good games (and one masterpiece).

In any case, that slight disappointment of first party games and the slightly delayed arrival of third parties blunts the impact a little, but just a little. It's an 8/10 for me, I have played on it almost exclusively since its launch, and I am very excited to see the software situation evolve in the coming year and beyond.

@greengecko007 I can help with at least one of those! It's not in the same place as on PS5, but Switch has had an appear offline version since the original system's launch. You can either go to User Settings > Friend Settings, and select "No One" for "Who Can See Online Status", or you can change it from the profile page in the NSO app on your phone.

Re: Opinion: Pokémon Legends Z-A Is The Creepiest Entry Yet, Not In A Good Way

Sorry, I’m really confused about some of the criticism in this article? Trainers in the battle zones absolutely can and do move to try and ambush you if you enter their line of sight, and while a lot of NPCs do admittedly stand still, a lot of them also do move through the city??? Like I literally have recorded clips of both happening, so I’m not quite sure what you mean. Like if you’re saying there should be more movement, sure, but that’s a very different criticism from what the framing of this article indicates.

@Ocaz @KBuckley27 The Switch version of P5R's trailer took 12 hours to gain more views than the Xbox version (including the Xbox version Atlus uploaded on their channel) put together, and is now the highest viewed video for these upcoming ports.

Anyone who thinks that the Switch versions are "coming too late" has not been paying attention lol. This is the most demanded port of all time, and now that it's happening, we're going to see it explode.

@AtlanteanMan You keep saying, over and over, that BotW was not going to have cloud saves, without even bothering to substantiate the point. Which makes sense, because you are wrong, BotW was always going to support cloud saves, it was one of the games Nintendo explicitly noted as supporting cloud saves in the NSO announcement (and because unlike you, I actually bother to back up my point, you can check the initial list of excluded games here: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/no-cloud-saves-after-all-for-nintendo-switch-games/1100-6461634/

Look at that, no BotW!)
