I think is a pretty good example of looking at a game from the past with the standards we've grown accustomed to today.
Much has changed and its not useful when reviewing to look back with a ton of nostalgia, but when looking back - the game's context does matter.
It's a pretty good game, and all Kirby games are rather simple. I still like the review, but I'd suggest giving the game a try if you're on the fence reading this. -Spiff
I mean, yeah the books are props, the place is a set and actors are paid - but they look like they're having fun, which is what most people want out of a game like this. Its also guitar hero. If it's not fun it literally has no other cards up it's sleeve.
To try and counter the possible "opinion vs opinion" battle that could happen here -
@Kaze_Memaryu
Your opinion is great! His controls are a bit different, and definitely not the same feel as SK, which could turn a few off. And it is some of the same content, so some might also be a little less inclined to jump in as viciously.
But, the context worth mentioning, is that it is Free. And DLC - that came as a Kickstarter bonus. That's pretty cool. They could have just made the character model different, they could have added no story or new modes, (Multiplayer on WiiU) and all of this on 4 systems, and that would have been pretty acceptable by today's semi-low standards. However, they didn't. The new modes are quite hard for new players and fun challenge to those who mastered the original and wanted more.
All in all this is a fun free bonus to those who liked SK and wanted more. The other DLC's might improve or offer more in the ways you wish, but it's hard to hate something that seems so genuinely cared about by both the company and its fans. :]
@Mona-Reggie I -think- it's simply to counter the new molding. Normally the system's surface is flat, and if I remember correctly, even beveled. Adding arms of the Pika raises that, so the button might have been elevated to counter as well as ease.
@arronishere Perfect Dark did a lot of things. IT was one of the first games to have adaptive and learning AI, (All fully customizable in Multiplayer) Co-Op play as well as the coined "Counter-Op" play, high graphic threshold (For the N64 - Was one of the games that required a Expansion Pack to run normally, and even then you could make the take a second to load you 16 Bot deathmatch with 4 other players.) as well a ton of created gameplay modes and options with a ton of customization. It's a really good game, for its time and now - Simply because no one has tried to do as much since. Very fun game.
What and how that directly correlates to Splatoon, I do not know, but at least the devs had good taste. :s

Re: The Smaller New Nintendo 3DS Model is Coming to North America
Yessssssss!!!!!
...Now if only they would sell some plain white face plates. :[
Re: Nintendo 2DS Drops To $99 In North America
Amusingly, the Red/White 2DS shown never made it to the states.
Also, while I doubt it's coming, I am so down for a New 2DS if they make an all-black version. I would happily accept ANY alternative to the New XL.
Re: Metallic Blue New Nintendo 3DS XL Looks Set for North American Release
I'd accept a standard size N3DS in almost any color with any deal. Sell it with a bundle! Use it to increase sales of almost any game!
