Was expecting the visual issues to be addressed in line with this physical release. Hugely disappointing that this isn't the case. Pretty shoddy stuff Nintendo. Will track down the S1 physical instead then I guess.
@Novuscourvous Amen brother. It gets a wee bit tiresome, but sure it's hard to shift a colonial state of mind. That said, willing to believe this is just a case of missed pluralising😅
The first one was souless and truly appallingly written. It's bottom of the barrel stuff. Can see very little reason why this should be any different when the first did so dispirtingly well at the box office. It is possible to make animated movies that appeal to kids, pull on the heartstrings and that say something as well.
This is desperately sad. It's such a special game, made by people who care. Removing the online leaderboards killed much of the experience for me. Otherwise I could easily have sank 100s of hours into it by now. Hope those laid off find new roles asap. If you can stomach forking money over to Epic, there's a real gem of an experience to be had.
Haven't played recently, no. My friends and I had to all be looking at 'Public Games' option and then press at the same time with a countdown. That and some crossed fingers and some kind of raindance for good measure 😅Absolutely worth it though. Great game
@Oldmanhermit I struggled similarly for the opening area. Was on the verge of quitting. Once the world opens up and the range of fantastically written side quests come into focus, easily became one of my favourite games. Very much worth persevering with.
@Alex79uk Yeah, got him in 10. Fun fight, good old pattern recognition. Savage beast fly though? Woof, the amount of RNG BS present is off the charts. It's just a giant fly with two moves, but with the summoning of his buddies, 2 mask damage and tanky HP? I had greater success with Nightmare Grim tbh
@ShieldHero Fingers crossed! It'll be a key part of convincing casual gamers that it's worth the upgrade. This one was on me though, was well aware there was a list of incompatible games that I likely read and ignored/forgot
@Jedrus_Lilac Was running completely fine until I reached the abandoned factory later in the game, and then just consistently crashed. Seems to happen for different folk at different points. Sad times.
This is beyond infuriating! As if it's so beyond the pale to include a simple toggle. Like many here, I enjoy the intermissions AND 3 lap tracks. Give me agency and allow me both. I've paid for the privilege by buying the game. I know it's a little lame, but one of my simple chillout single player experiences was playing CPU all tracks randomised on Vs mode. When you select this, not only does it almost exclusively feature intermissions but often REPEATS tracks!
@Ladasta Completely agree. Always saved all boosts for the last stretch, as I'd inevitably find myself in third place regardless of drifting or boosts, or how well or poorly I'd raced previously. Winning is as formulaic as it gets. Lots of fun for the first few hours, but rubberbanding renders it pretty hollow

Re: Boom! Yooka-Replaylee's 60fps Switch 2 Performance Mode Is Finally Here
This is excellent news! Really pleasing to see responsive devs, particularly when it's a small team. Very tempted by that cheeky wee discount now...

Sorry to be that guy, but Uk and Ireland definitely more than one isle!

Is it just me , or does the 'notes on friends they can't see' give off big stasi vibes?😅
Re: One Of The Switch's Earliest eShop Titles Has Finally Got A Sequel
I liked the first one well enough. Cosy horror. Definitely worth checking out, particularly on a deep sale
Re: Reminder: Resident Evil's Generation Pack Is Leaving The Switch 2 eShop This Month
Had almost 40 quid on the account from a Christmas voucher, so pretty much got all for £15 each! Cha-ching!

Lovely article PJ, nice to have some Burnsy representation on here. From a fellow Glaswegian domiciled Irishman🥃
