Thanks for the thorough review Zach. I'm hoping this might get released in the UK, as I love Mahjong. However, I'm a bit dismayed play is all against the clock until you've completed the level and go for a re-run. I generally go for this sort of puzzle for late evening relaxation, not adrenal stimulation. Oh well.
I've tried this little program elsewhere. It really is good. Getting it as soon as it comes out. The version I saw didn't have tutorials on how to paint, so I don't see it as a replacement for Art Academy. It was a bit like just having a little electronic paintbox and paper in your pocket
@Corbs I agree with you this add-on doesn't look very cool, but I have to just mention, even though I may get my head in my hands to play with you sound just a teensy weensy bit like the original grumpy old man
I really don't see why Nintendo can't just include the North American version of London Life on the European cartridge - that would be better than not having it at all. If it is 100 hours of gameplay it's quite a significant loss.
Animal Crossing is the main reason I bought my 3DS. I couldn't bear the thought of not being able to play the new version. I'm content to wait til 2012. Make sure it's perfect Nintendo!
What everybody else has said - congrats, and glad you're increasing your revenue. But, bar a few tweeks, I love this place as it is, so don't de-personalise and overcomplicate the site pleeeeeeese.
There is no change the Nintendo Europe's Ambassador page this morning. I can't see them putting anything up now, though I suppose it's possible. Oh well, we'll find out next Thursday, anyway. I think I'd rather see a complete list of the games published, but I suspect that won't happen either
@AZZA0204 WOW Potted universes! I may give one a whirl when I want a change of avatar sometime. You do know there's all sorts on the various European Space Agency websites? The best for pics and stuff is this one where you'll find wallpapers and screensavers if you click on "Goodies":- http://www.esa.int/esa-mmg/mmghome.pl Apologies to everybody else for straying off topic, we'll stop now.
I think it might be interesting, in a sub Art Academy way, though my first reaction was disappointment that it wouldn't make the actual pot for you Hopefully we'll get a review before it comes to Europe.
Well, I'm not going to get in a twist about it, but what's with Nintendo Europe? When DO we get our tool this side of the pond? @AZZA0204 Hi, sorry I missed your last post. Yes thanks, a link to your avatar would be interesting.
Apologies Zach - I forgot to say thanks for the review. I rather like the restful green appearance of this iteration and might try it for a bit of light diversion at £1.80 in the eShop. I've never tried water buffalo milk, but don't forget that mozzarella cheese is from the water buffalo - all the way to Italy from my Asian farm?
Well maybe these games appeal to smaller kids. There's got to be something on DSiWare for the little ones OR maybe even for older "kids" who are out for a bit of mindless play, though its a bit of a bummer to have to fatten up elephants, tigers and monkeys to sell off. Surely the developers could have rigged it so those critters went of to zoos or maybe the elephants to shift logs. no imagination, some folks, and I mean the developers
@AZZA0204 You're very welcome. No, I hadn't seen any of your other comments, and regret to say I'm not psychic If you left click on anyone's avatar you will get up a user profile window that says when that person joined NL and their location country. I don't think I know you from anywhere, I live in Derbyshire. Hope you have fun here. PS I like your Avatar
Hi AZZA0204 - Welcome to Nintendolife. I see you just joined us today. Don't panic! The Nintendo Europe tool hasn't been put up yet, so none of us can check out our Ambassador status until that happens - hopefully it will in a few days. The letters at the beginning of my serial number are CEF, and I'm sure there will be a lot of other variations. As long as you fulfill the requirements to be a Nintendo Ambassador you should be OK when it comes to checking with the tool later. You'll find Nintendo's information here:- http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/systems/nintendo_3ds_ambassador_programme_44250.html
@Peterifico Well, it says "undecided", so maybe it will have changed next time you check it out. In Europe we're apparently offered the option of registering after August 11th and this is what the website says:- ~How to register from August 12th, 2011 You can still register for the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme, but in order to do so you will need to EITHER: a) Have created a Friend Code and connected to the Internet with your Nintendo 3DS system prior to August 12th OR b) Have retained your original receipt or proof of purchase for your Nintendo 3DS system We will be providing you with a tool very soon where you can enter this data and still register for the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme, so keep your eyes peeled for announcements! You will also be able to use this tool to confirm that your Nintendo 3DS system is registered on the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme. For this, you will need only the serial number of your Nintendo 3DS system, found on the back of the system.~
Is this option not offered in the US? If it's not then you could email Nintendo and attach an image of your Gamestop receipt - which presumably you did keep. I bet things will work out OK for you
@daznsaz I could manage a bit of the top screen, actually. And how do you make your script red to highlight it, please? Edit:- Oh, I see it's automatic if you only put the name.
@9. Mario_Party_Fan_999:- Yes, I've just checked my box and, although it's a UK Version, the serial number is on an oblong sticker below a bar code (it's NOT the squarish one just round the corner on the box). Are you sure that sticker on the bottom of your 3DS doesn't give the serial number below a barcode, because my serial number IS on a white sticker below a bar code? @15. Don't worry - you will be OK.
I can't imagine ANYONE who purchased their 3DS before the required date will miss out on becoming an Ambassador, as Nintendo do seem to be bending over backwards to make sure this doesn't happen. I was going to say miss out on the Scheme, but I won't
Yes! About time they did something like this. We have WiFi at home now, but before that I spent days trying to find the one or two useable WiFi internet cafe sites available locally to connect my DS to the web.
I have a little experience of Colors! as a homebrew application. It's brilliant, and Colors! 3D will be an essential download for me on my 3DS as soon as it's available.
@16 John-John - I love your avatar! I've never played any GBA or NES games, so anything we get will be new to me, but it would be nice to get a Pokemon game somewhere in the selection, please Nintendo.
@15:- I'm one of those who doesn't own a Wii! All my gaming is handheld and began with a DSLite - so anything they offer will be new for me, but Kid Icarus, Zelda II, Duck Tales and A Boy and His Blob sound like a good start.
I was under the impression that some DS games are actually region locked. I imported a copy of Popcap's Bejewelled Twist directly from the US site of Amazon.com (just before they started to block sales of Nintendo DS games to the UK), and it will work on my DSLite, but not on my DSiXL. Or does that mean that the game is region free, whilst the XL is region locked and the DSLite is not? goes off to a corner to think about it
Well it's colorful and sorta cute, and he only costs 200 points. Maybe a nice one for the little 'uns to spend some summer pocket money on. I'd wait for the review myself
Well, I know it's a trap, but it's great to view a little of what's in store, and to show off the 3DS to friends who say they've heard Nintendo are having problems with it I can't wait to get my hands on Animal Crossing too, but maybe it's just as well it's not due out just yet as there's so much else that needs doing.... goes off to clear out some cupboards
@34. Monkeh - I think you're being very unfair to 13 year olds. It takes a very special type of person to write one of those emails - they just live on a different plane to the rest of us
