Playing some Donkey Kong in between Cyberpunk and Death Stranding 2 sessions on the PS5 after FINALLY finishing all shrines and beating TOTK. There's so many brilliant games one can simply not play (or finish) them all, and still there are people complainging. Can I use my fossils to upgrade to 36 hour days?
Mario Kart World with the lovely daughter. She actually beat me on a 150 cc Grand Prix for the first time ever, hanging in second place not far behind and waiting for those cursed blue shells to hit me .
I also try to get some quality time with TOTK. Never finished it on the OG Switch, but I can't put it down since I picked it up again. What a masterpiece!
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 gave me a reason to boot up my Switch after a long time of inactivity. Great series! 1, 2 and 3 are right up there with the best JRPG's ever made. 20 hours in now and loving it!
Great to get all these new courses, but I really don't like the real city themed ones from Mario Kart Tour. They just seem off somehow, and I get the impression they didn't put a lot of effort into designing them.
Just finished Metroid Dread. Best game in the series since Super Metroid! I loved the challenge, but I think I'll skip hard mode . Going back to Mass Effect 3 on PS5 for the rest of the weekend.
@sportvater I finished Zelda II and Faxanadu when I was 12 or 13. I could really lock on and try 100 times if I had to when I was a teenager. I remember having a very hard time with Battle of Olympus, though. I finished it eventually, but it was an utterly frustrating endeavour. I'll never touch that game again!
@COVIDberry Well said. What I really like about these older games is you really had to earn the right to see the end credits. Getting to the end really gives you a feeling of accomplishment, something I miss in a lot of modern, more forgiving titles.
@Xyphon22 Make that two . This was the first game I bought with my own pocket money when I was a kid, and I still love playing it once in a while. One of the shop assistants at our local toys store at the time was a passionate gamer; he was really fond of adventure games and RPG's and was the reason I got into Zelda, Faxanadu, Battle of Olympus etc.
@DoctorYoghurt This was the first Zelda I ever played. I was 12 at the time it was released. I'm almost 42 now, and I still love this game very deeply. Underrated indeed!
As expected. They fooled me for a second at the start. For a brief moment, I thought they were going to announce a new Xenoblade . Thrilled about Skyward Sword, though. I love that game!
@TheRedComet Oh how I love Star Fox 64! Still the best game in the series. We played a lot of GoldenEye as well. Brilliant game. And Perfect Dark. And Mario Kart 64. And Diddy Kong Racing. And NBA Hangtime. And F-Zero X. And...
@electrolite77 Yeah, it looks like a lot of fun. It was on flash sale and I just couldn't resist . Man, I miss the N64 / Gamecube days when we had couch multiplayer sessions almost every day. Developers have been taking almost everything online the last 2-3 generations, neglecting local multiplayer.
Looking forward to playing this with the wife and kid! What's all this nagging about 8, 9 or 10? If 10 means 'outstanding' on this site, than 10 is what it'll get. Can't wait!
