I’m really enjoying the newest DLC. I appreciate that the core mechanics are the same, the gameplay is similar, but the change to the camera led to a different kind of exploration. It’s analogous to taking Breathe of the Wild and creating a Link’s Awakening style game - more open - but a similar scaling of content, yet somehow I’m 12 hours in and have yet to complete the mainline challenges. It also feels slightly more arcade as the respawn rate, saving mechanic, and number of baddies is greatly increased and the combat made much more specific and difficult.
I’m glad I picked it up. I’ve really enjoyed this entire series so far and I’m appreciating that it’s slowly moving away from Breath of the Wild, as it’s a great filler, but not a true replacement for it.
@IamWaluigi Thanks for the great update, I've been unsure! I'm playing through Immortals right now, and have bioshock and witcher 3 lined up, but I keep drifting towards the Outer Worlds... we'll see. Thanks!
I picked up this game a week ago and have put 25 hours in already. I can't believe how much enjoyment I get out of every aspect of this game. Just when I'm feeling ready to move on to a different play-style, my current task ends. I refuse to automate anything and I've been doing my best to complete as many quests as possible on my free days, so I think I'm gonna end up being one of those 70 or more hours per play through kinda players. Is this my favourite game since BotW and Hollow Knight? I think so.
