Nevermind the fact you didn't read up the fact this very same rag ran several pieces about how terrible the 3DS is when it was released - Its pure hypocrisy.
Its a very fun game, however you gave it 2 or 3 points too much. Its a Nintendo site, so I don't expect much in the way of impartiality, however this is no way a terrible game. Just no way near a 9 out of 10 due to repetitive and absent musical content which your kind-of forced to wait for and purchase later via DLC.
Unfortunately true The internet is really a vocal minority in the end of the day in any facet of media, be it Music / Film / TV / Videogames... unless we get together for a Mass Effect 3 ending type petition - However I don't think these things are effective against the Japanese side of companies, they don't recognise it as a legit show of hands, mentality-wise anyhow.
Latest PS MH didn't get localised for NA or EU markets for the PSP / Vita, so probably no chance of this localisation happening for the 3DS either - Capcom already released their statement about MH overseas saying it wasn't profitable after the poor sales from MH Tri on the Wii.
Need to see more gameplay footage until we can make a judgement on how this is going to play out, though I'm glad they are still pursuing a 2D-type angle on this series.
If they do remake it, they have to treat certain elements of the original game with respect like the Kid Icarus: Uprising team did. For example, the original music composition stays, enemies are the same (just updated a little) etc
What was great about Link to the Past was funnily enough the atmosphere of the game. Other Zelda games just don't feel as "dark" as that game when your in the Dark World - Seeing the people of the Light World have their lives devastated and destroyed in the Dark World was a big factor to the overall atmosphere of that game.
If it's a sequel, I would still like to see the elements of A Link to the Past there. I wouldn't like a "Wind Waker" designed Link running about in it, the design is just not my cup of tea.
@ninjanna That's the most consistant block of text I have ever seen on the internets... I think my eyes nearly bled!
Ok, so I remember the days when GAME stores were Electronics Boutique, however this is going back in the day were the shelves had PC games and then I remember picking up this huge (cause it came with the guide book) red box, which said "SUPER METROID" on it. Man, those were the days.
In either case, they need to offer more customer incentives like ShopTo.net. Reward customers with more deals as opposed to just a store credit/points system which equates to the consumer buying far too many games to trade back nothing at all.
With the advent of future consoles POSSIBLY packing a DRM which rejects used copies, they NEED to start thinking about giving incentives to the consumer...or refuse to sell consoles with the latter mentioned DRM!
Honestly, as small and niche the PC market has become day-by-day, it's a market which has stayed true and loyal and has always been the most consistant since Day 1, they shouldn't have turned their backs on them.
Other countries have to understand the UK is bad at something called "Service Structure" or layman's terms, "Planning things out". I'll give you a common example
1: Person sends two packages to same address at same time. 2: Only one package arrives. Other package enters blackhole.
UK system baby, oooooooooooooooooooooooh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Ok ok, all jokes (???) aside, I have to say that the promotional campaign for this game was atrocious, you only have the publisher to blame for this one (Nintendo in this case).
Though in fairness, I guess though it WAS very difficult for them to promote something like this which is so different from your run of the mill FPS games which the banks/investors are only willing to put money down for promotional campaigns in Western arenas.
In anycayse, ShopTo.net is the answer to everyone's problems
I played all the Project Zero/Fatal Frame games. This one was the best one. It was pretty much a masterpiece of atmospheric design. 3rd game was also excellent in the atmosphere department, however felt more like "The Grudge" since it was based in an apartment for most of the game...which is still frightening!!!
I love the 3DS...however..this is Japanese news for VITA....were there is NO Monster Hunter or cookie-cutter cloned JRPG out for it yet.
However its all about money and I honestly think the pricing of the VITA, with how they make you buy the overpriced cards separately is really not attractive what-so-ever at the moment.
@MagicEmperor Nooooooot really. it's pretty 50/50 situation to answer that one. Though as far as Japanese styled RPGs go, it was pretty decent in the sense it didn't rely heavily on the whole "かわいいですね" (It's cute) character stereotypes. Good tactical, Shining Force-styled gameplay!
Can't wait for you guys (Americans) to get on-line on RAID mode! I'll finally have some competition in fighting for highest rank on Abyss Difficulty ;0)
Side Note: It's not a scary game at all. There is only TWO parts which are creepy. One of them is near the very end.
I have the "Super Wide Gear", a "slim" version of the "Booster Boy"...and a few others I can't remember...maybe one or two for the SNES (Which weren't useless, they could let you play your Gameboy games on the SNES and in colour too!)
@paul6891 I got a confirmation it was sent out yesterday, to honor the release date time, they send it in such a way (2nd class post) that it arrives with you on release date (Game.co.uk do this too and it always takes 2 days from when they ship). So if you pre-ordered, like me, then you should get it tomorrow.
@RVN - Really no point. It's one big spoiler as it shows what happens happens to characters good and bad...and the boat. Pretty much is saying: "This is how the boat chapter of the game ends har har har!!!"
Just hold fire until the game is released and play it then!
@Collision_Cat & @Mok Did I just witness a skit between you two?
Anyway keep your eyes on the usual suspects. Game.co.uk I wouldn't be surprised got it. However I wouldn't recommend pre-ordering instore as they'll NEVER GET IT IN (like the Tales of the Abyss 3DS fiasco).
