You know? Maybe I'm overthinking this. Afterall, Cranky was DK's dad, but now he is his grandad. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a retcon for why Pauline is young but Cranky is old or maybe there's no explanation at all.
I'd give it an 8/10. I'm glad that they finally brought back the original Wario Stadium, the Dash food system is nice, and Waluigi can turn into Piranha Plant so I can tell myself Piranha Plant in Ultimate is actually Waluigi, but it's disappointing that Mario is the only one with 10 costumes (including his default costume) and most of the costumes were revealed prior to release. It also doesn't help that there's still no Baby Waluigi. I would say maybe they'll fix that with DLC, but that would be giving Nintendo too much merit.
Microsoft, for the love of God and all that is Holy, keep your hands off of Nintendo. Why don't you make new IPs instead? No wait, we have enough IPs already. Better yet, shut down your company. Nobody likes Microsoft.
