Re: Talking Point: Is the DS Dead at Retail?

Jango-Forest

It's a shame that Golden Sun: Dark Dawn did so badly, I'm playing through it now and it has inspired me to buy the previous two in the series. It's also a tad worrying that Okamiden hasn't got much pre-release support. That's one of my most anticipated DS games in it's lifetime. I have to say though, I did rather think this would happen. Despite the promises from Nintendo saying they would continue the DS into the 3DS' lifetime it doesn't make a difference if shops and suchlike won't sell its games. It's a bit early to cook up a line of memeberance for the DS as I think it has still got a year left to perfect its back catalogue, so I'll save that for later.

Re: Nintendo Defends European Retailers' Pricing of the 3DS

Well, from my perspective I've got to worry about whether my parents will let me spend that kind of dosh on it in the first place. If they DO let me, then I've got to worry myself about whether I'M willing to spend that kind of dosh. So, it's going through two filtering processes. In comparison, when the DS came out my parents had no quarms about dishing out for one. The same even applies to the Wii. All that stuff about VAT and whatnot doesn't make much of a difference when you look at it from my angle. It doesn't matter whether it's a fair price economically or what have you, it's just a question of what your reaction is when you see the price. It's either something along the lines of "Gordon Bennett! That's shockingly expensive! Not going to by one of those." Or "Hm. That price isn't too shabby, I'll slap down my bank notes for that!" For the most part, it seems like the reaction is the Gordon Bennett one (including myself) so a small-ish price drop should come along sooner rather than later. I hope so, because if I get one now, I'm not going to be able to get ANYTHING else at all, that's all my money gone for the rest of the year.

Fortunately, from what I've seen the games are roughly the same price so I've still got a mental battle on my hands...(should I get it? Or should I not?)

Re: MadCatz Gets In There Early with 3DS Accessories

Well, I've never used screen protectors or anything like that and the screen on my Dslite is fine. On the other hand my friend accuses me of the dead pixels on his ds when I borrowed it. Apparently, I was getting a touch too angry with Pokemon diamond or something. A case might be useful but the probability of me ever buying one is pretty slim.

I would have to say: Goldeneye online multiplayer with pals
OR NSMB multiplayer with pals
or the end of a level in SMG2 where you're swimming in an underwater cavern and then surface onto a patch of grassland with some trees and the sunset. I just liked that for some reason.

Re: There May Never Be Another Smash Bros. as Hardcore as Melee

I was a tad dissapointed by Brawl to be honest. It didn't draw me in as Melee did. The characters didn't have the same weight as they did in Melee. When you KO'd somebody you felt a wave of satisfaction which for some reason was lacking in Brawl. I thought the stages weren't very good either. Not sure why. The Subspace Emissiary was good though.
