Re: Eiji Aonuma Talks Voice Acting and Sci-Fi in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

JaidynReiman

@-Red- Lazy? The game is frickin' massive, and no game needs full voice acting anyway. I do think more will be voice acted in the final game, such as even a bit of dialogue from the Old Man, and important story events (I don't think the monks in the shrines will be voice acted, though, for example, they aren't that important... then again, they mostly say the same thing anyway, so that probably wouldn't take too much effort).

Re: Editorial: With Lowered Expectations E3 Can Still Be Full of Nintendo Magic

JaidynReiman

@MrCafecito Well, a signiifcant number of people did realize this. The bigger issue was when Nintendo announced "more information", namely the Treehouse Live and put the website up, and didn't say anything about any other games.

I think, worst-case scenario, they didn't know what else was going to be ready to show off at the event, so they only announced Zelda at first, and it also helps to get everyone's expectations lowered so they don't expect too much.

But I don't think they ever planned on it only being Zelda.

Re: Editorial: With Lowered Expectations E3 Can Still Be Full of Nintendo Magic

JaidynReiman

@Sir_JBizzle Yeah, Nintendo never said Zelda was the only game going to be there, just playable. I think it is possible they changed something in regards to: they had not finalized plans except for Zelda being the only playable game. That, I think, is possible.

But since they made it very clear that Zelda was the only PLAYABLE game, and every time said "playable" when they said only Zelda, really makes me think that, no, they never intended on it being just Zelda. It was always going to have more, and maybe the just weren't sure what else would be there at the time.

Re: Xenoblade Director on What's Next for the Series and What Makes it So Popular

JaidynReiman

@Zorox88 One problem is that the story is unfinished, and the last game wasn't taken very well, so Camelot probably wants to finish that before anything else. That may also be what would keep other devs from working on the franchise, because although Nintendo owns the IP, it is Camelot's franchise, and the story is unfinished on top of that.

That's why anything new needs to at least be in collaboration with Camelot. (And considering how barebones Ultra Smash is, I think Camelot was rushed to get that came out and likely started it THIS year. I even heard a rumor that it was stated the game only started development two months before E3, which means Camelot was doing something else between Mario Golf: World Tour and Ultra Smash...)

Re: Super Smash Bros. Fan Provides a Suprisingly Detailed 20 Point Plan to Improve the Wii U Version

JaidynReiman

@Ventilator Then I guess you're missing out. Well, technically Ice Climbers WERE added to the game. But they couldn't get them to work on the 3DS after trying numerous different things (they didn't just do quick minor testing to get them work than said "eh, they're not high priority, we'll try again later"). So Sakurai had to remove them again, and he won't add them unless he can get them working on 3DS. And since he already tried numerous things to get them to work... good luck with that one.

Re: Star Fox Zero Website Has Fans of amiibo and Online Play Dreaming

JaidynReiman

Multiplayer was confirmed to not be in the game originally, but here's hoping the delay allows them to include dogfights that also can be played online.

@EverythingAmiibo the article is talking about how people are dreaming about the possibility because the website doesn't explain what these features are. And it does mention Miiverse support as a possibility.

Re: Nintendo Shares Level Out After $4 Billion Drop in Company Value

JaidynReiman

@russellohh Anyone who knows anything about Nintendo knows that Nintendo does what Nintendo wants and what they feel is right. (They're not always right, but they've gotten this far.)

People heard "Nintendo" and "Mobile" and immediately jumped into the shares expecting Nintendo to suddenly release their huge hit Mario titles on Mobile, even though they said they wouldn't do that right from the very beginning (they'd build apps from the ground up).

This is just the people with that mindset selling the shares they bought back when the announcement first happened.

Re: Monster eShop Maintenance to Run Through Most of 2nd November

JaidynReiman

@Warruz I do agree that this is probably all for early revamps for My Nintendo. They're likely adding a lot of background things for My Nintendo into it. MAYBE we can see some early things added tied to it, but mostly its probably for improving online stability and setting up plans for how cross-buying will work.

The most I see that could come of this is maybe they release cross-buy soon before the Holidays, and you'll be able to transfer VC titles between 3DS and Wii U (and GB, GBA, SNES, and DS games will be able to work on both). That's the most I can see happening yet, but its hard to say if it will.

Re: Nintendo Has Unannounced Wii U And 3DS Titles Ready For Launch Before The Year End

JaidynReiman

@Rockmin They also said it was "almost finished," and Miyamoto stated in the past they start one Pikmin game after the prior one releases. Pikmin 3 was in 2013, extremely unlikely they planned it for a new console that early on. Pikmin 4 is probably planned for Wii U next year, maybe even early next year or in Spring.

Anyway, TP HD is probably the main one and likely will have a retail release, just announced very late (it can be planned for retail in advance and they just didn't publicly announce it). Project Guard has technically been announced, but it'll probably be eShop only anyway.

The new Rhythm Heaven game is possible in the west as a download-only title, but that game is already out in Japan. If the info is accurate about new unannounced games for this year, Rhythm Heaven isn't one of them because it was a Japanese press briefing.

A more likely bet would be something smaller, like a new Panel de Pon/Puzzle League download game by Intelligent Systems.

In theory, though, the "unannounced titles" could be VC games.

Re: Rejoice, The Wii U Has Finally Outsold Sega's Ill-Fated Dreamcast

JaidynReiman

@TomJ Lolwut? It will only live three years before 2016. 2016 is a set time. Since it launched in 2013, it'll live to be three years before 2016 no matter what.

If you mean before its shut down, if the NX launched in 2016 (and that's a BIG if), then it'll have lived 4 years.

Personally I think the NX is dead in the water if it launches in 2016. It needs to be massively powerful and release no sooner than 2017. If its underpowered and acts as a stopgap, its dead.

If its overpowered too soon it'll be overwhelming to developers who would probably prefer to stick to Xbone/PS4, and consumers won't want to buy it because it'd be too expensive.

And frankly, I think Nintendo would rather have very few games for a year than to launch the NX too early. (They can always fill it up with more VC.)

Re: Analysts Talk About Nintendo's Upcoming Mobile Release Strategy

JaidynReiman

@GreninJovan What do you mean it "won't" happen? It IS happening. They confirmed it early this year. Did you just completely and totally miss it? Or are you saying they're going to suddenly cancel it? Which is a load of croc, of course they're not going to cancel it.

That said, I can't agree with some of these analysts.

"We believe this is now going to be the core of the new Nintendo."

No it won't. Mobile pales in comparison to console gaming. Nintendo's going to use Mobile to bring more attention to their IP's and get Mobile fans into console gaming or Nintendo's handhelds.

@zayy862 Well, they're about to "announce" a new console, anyway.

Re: Apparent Confirmation Emerges of Shovel Knight for Super Smash Bros., Denied in Vain By Yacht Club Games

JaidynReiman

"The social media poster for the studio has got one aspect of its denials wrong, however, mis-reading the screengrab as listing the Shovel Knight amiibo as part of the Smash Bros. series, which it doesn't."

Tsk, tsk Nintendo Life, not doing your research.

When the Amiibo FIRST LEAKED, the VERY FIRST entry was on some sort of Spanish or Asian site, it said it was a Smash Bros. line Amiibo. That's the only time they debunked the Amiibo.
