Yeah!, twice, that makes me a multiple winner right? 1st time survived a red shell on last corner and crossed the line with the sound of another one heading for me 2nd time, was 3rd coming into last few turns and picked up a triple 'shroom and blasted myself over line for 1st
Plenty of 3rd and 2nds too, great mode, still never won an online race on either this of MK8, so it's nice to finally be triumphant!
It's a no from me, despite being the exciting anticipation for a long time, the lack of full fat two player mode just instantly ruins it for me, I was always meh for single player in P3D, but the missus and me loved two player and spent many happy hours in it, we tried the demo and while she still enjoyed it and would probabaly happily also play it solo, the 'co-op' mode was just crap and added nothing to it,, within 5 minutes I'd already lost interest and started checkin my phone, hardly a good sign, it just feels like a step back not to include , the co-op mode is a poor substitute, might as well called it single player and be done with it.
This is the 3rd time this year I've been hyped for a 'day one' purchase only to be let down at the last minute, I wonder what the next one will be...
@bosh Exactly that, I've still never played PM3 deluxe solo, but co-op was great, i'm sure my missus will enjoy PM4, I just don't imagine sitting watching her play it will be that enthralling, and I thought Nintendo were all about play together, it's just baffling as you say.
@AhabSpampurse non the less, the coop mode has been suspiciously info lacking right from the word go, in promos, the direct , the landing page of the product, heck even the latest overview trailer it's mentioned almost as a mere afterthought rather than a feature. it just does not feel like a solid part of the game, more a quick tacked on feature , gone from day 1 purchase to day 'pick it up on ebay in 6 months time' purchase sadly
Never been more disappointed , having never been a pikmin fan since cube days, I just couldn't get into it, however fast forward to Switch day and my missus LOVED pikmin 3 deluxe and finally had a game we could play together in split screen, her barking order at me and me doing as I was told (art imitating life), and we've been excitedly looking forward to 4 for a long time, imagine how disappointed we are to see co-op mode in 4 reduced to a basic assist mode , crosshairs on screen pinging pebbles at things, about as much fun as the Cappy assist mode in Mario Odyssey. it feels very much like a massive step backwards in terms of enjoyment factor and indeed more of a afterthought in features. She may buy it for herself as she also enjoyed PM3 solo, but also feels let down with no proper co-op mode that we can enjoy together
I was hyped right up to the point I realised I simply don't have the time to dedicate to it, BoTW came along at the right time for me, new to my switch , lockdown happened and I had all the time in the world to explore, fast forward to now, less time and some of the stuff I've seen in the trailers just filled me with a sense of 'stuff for stuffs' sake, so sadly I'll be passing on this , enjoy it if you have the time !
Having owned this book from new back in the 80's it's a fascinating slice of time, one I still go back to every couple of years, well worth finding if you can.
