@kitaek27 The gameplay, effects, and character designs are traceable to Honkai Impact, yes. The environmental design... not so much. The environment definitely looks more like BotW than HI3rd.
The impression I got from watching the trailer was that this was some kind of Kaizo ALttP, which turned me off the game--I am bad at action games but kind of like them.
" There’s full voice acting, available in both Taiwanese and Mandarin"
Interesting. I have only seen Taiwanese games use Mandarin voice acting. There are several regional languages spoken in Taiwan, but Mandarin actually has the most speakers (100% compared to 70% or less). For cost reasons, many production only use Mandarin.
It is like seeing a German game that provides both Hochdeutsch and Bairisch.
@KryptoniteKrunch The difference between the Witcher 3 and Nier: Automata is that the Witcher 3 ran well on PCs. Nier: Automata, on the other hand, runs bad on PCs even with the highest end Intel and nVidia hardware (and even worse on AMD hardware), and it has not been patched since release.
Could Platinum make a good Switch port? Sure. But I doubt SE will give them the money or time needed to to so.
1. Cracked hinge on a 3DS XL 2. Left stick drift on the Wii U Pro controller
(not Nintendo) 3. Broken X button membrane on PSP 3000.
I am fortunate in that these were the only issues I have had with official hardware from any video game company. I have had issues with unofficial hardware, but that is a different story.
No. I think this is because I play 2-D action games using the directional buttons and never play very intensive 3-D action games, so I never have occasion to stress the joystick.
I am not saying people abuse their joy-cons. I am saying that I make unusually little use of the joystick for a modern gamer.
@Axlroselm
It is loosely based on the French revolution, so there is hope.
I hope it uses a Tactics Ogre style battle system (the original) rather than a FFT style. I enjoyed the relative simplicity of the player facing mechanics of the original--without the hordes of skills to worry about, just stats, classes, a few spells, and items.
This is how I remember the life counter worked in SM64:
1. If you die, and you have lives left, you get kicked out a painting. 2. If you die, and you have no lives left, you get a game over screen. You start from outside the castle with 3 lives, picking star progress from the last point you saved. 3. You are prompted to save every time you collect a star and exit a painting.
The difference between a game over and dying is seeing the game over screen and a minute or two of extra running through an essentially empty castle.
Did Sunshine and Galaxy 1/2 add more punishing consequences for game overs? If not, then the life counter always has been irrelevant to the 3D Mario games.
@Damo Most of those limits are not actually limits. If you pre format the storage using a computer to FAT32 or ext2, the phone will generally happily accept the larger capacity cards and use that larger capacity.
It is much like the 3DS. Officially, it only supports microSDHC cards up to 32 GB. In reality, if you format a microSDXC card to FAT32 using a computer, it will accept much larger capacities.
I am very much fond of the dual screens on the DS and 3DS. Many users seem to be disappointed that the second screen was used as a map or inventory only, but I am quite content with that use. Not everything needs to be revolutionary, and a large, non-intrusive, touch interactive HUD fit perfectly for many games.
The dual screen setup was pretty disastrous on the Wii U because unlike on the DS and 3DS, the 2 screens are too far apart on the Wii U, which severely limits how useful putting a HUD on the 2nd screen can be. On the Wii U it was only really useful for asynchronous play, and that was only implemented well in a few games.
I will miss the 2nd screen on the Switch, but I can live without it.
Plenty of games have built in cheat codes to give yourself similar levels of power, and PC games have long allowed players to edit relatively simple configurations to make the player overpowered. Making these a visible mode rather than a hidden option is not a problem.
I think it is entirely appropriate to let the player decide how he wants to play the game. This is, after all, a game.

Re: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Gets A Fourth House In The Next Wave Of DLC
Two of those characters in the image look like pop singers...
If this is an expansion pack like DLC like Torna, I am all for it. I hope it is not another micro DLC story like with the 3DS Fire Emblem games.

Anyone who has played the game care to comment?

Re: Feature: Beamdog On Bringing Baldur's Gate And Classic D&D RPGs To Switch
This is where I remember that Icewind Dale 2's source code was lost and will never be remastered/ported.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #1 - Super Metroid
Japan's looks best by a long shot: More details, more enemies pursuing Samus, Ridley's color matches.
America's is pretty good, just not as good as Japan's. Europe's looks like a blurry messy.

Please put Star Ocean 2 on the Switch...
Re: Random: Celeste Mod Featuring Kirby As The Star Shared Online, Called 'Ingeste'
@Bunkerneath I am assuming they are referring to Nintendo being the problem, not the Celeste developers.

@zever It is $35 on Amazon right now.
Re: Skybound And Beamdog Bring Six Classic Dungeons & Dragons Games To Switch In 2019
@Punisher67 Every time I see these ports, I rue the loss of the Icewind Dale 2 source code.
Re: Side-Scrolling Hack And Slash Dead or School Is Making Its Way To The Switch
I am waiting for more ryona games to make their way to the Switch. That is the logical step after Gal Gun and this game.
