Re: Talking Point: What Are The Nintendo Switch's Defining Moments (So Far)?

Hyper_Hippy69

Trigger Warning!

The Switch for me has a special place in my heart and soul, as it saved my life. Although I had been eagerly following the Switch from its reveal, I didn't purchase one until April, 2018. Several months leading up to this, I was having a particularly hard time in my house share, whereby one of my housemates was a complete psycho who psychologically bullied me and eventually things turned physical. As if that wasn't enough to crush my spirit and lust for life on top of an abnormally large dose of childhood and adolescent abuse, my Granddad Arthur -who was my life guru, inspiration and father figure - ended up dying during February and I was violently attacked in a pub when trying to use logical thinking to deter a man from spitting racist bile in March. Anyway, I had decided I had had enough of living and booked a solitary holiday in a wooden cabin (don't worry, as there was electricity and a TV) with the sole intention of hanging myself from the abode's rafters. How I looked at those wooden beams in order to accrue the muster I thought was needed to string myself up to them. However, after a few days of solitary confinement and intense contemplation, I decided to venture into the town centre. I walked around in somewhat of a daze until I went into Game. On a whim, given that I didn't think I needed money where I was intending to go and felt the splurge would be justified in giving providing one last superficial moment of asinine joy, I purchased a Nintendo Switch alongside Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It has been the single most important thing I have purchased as it magically took me back to more innocent times and helped me find my inner child once more. I thought he had died a long time ago, but witnessing first-hand the seamless brilliance of playing the remarkable console in handheld, watching it instantly transfer onto the big screen when docked and the pure pleasure the aforementioned trio of games took my to a gaming nirvana I had cease to accept existed anymore. So yeah, the Nintendo Switch will always have a special place in my heart as it helped me get out of an extremely dark rabbit hole and it's the reason I am still here today. Simply put, if Nintendo never brought the Switch into existence then I wouldn't anymore.

Listen I am a Nintendo fan boy through and through but holy poo bro! Nintendo needs to grow up and realize game manipulation happens. Just let us cloud save our save data. People pour so many hours into their games and there’s Nintendo “play our games for as long as you can”... also Nintendo “nah we can’t have you cheating the system... no cloud save or transfer of data”... sometimes I hate Nintendo.

Re: You Might Not Be Able To Transfer Animal Crossing: New Horizons Save Data To Another Switch

Hyper_Hippy69

@Flowerlark Of course. But one can express the severity of their grievance without resorting to swearing, no? So, am I to believe that it's okay for someone to express themselves in an aggressive manner while using profanities, but someone else isn't allowed to express their own regarding how it was presented? Double standards?

Opinions are like bum holes, my friend, insofar that we all have one but they all reek of crap. I cared not for his opinion, just the presentation. And to be honest, I know that someone who reacted in they way they did to something so insignificant would be really easy to wind up. And, lo and behold, he was and his subsequent replies didn't half tickle my funny bone. 🤭

Re: You Might Not Be Able To Transfer Animal Crossing: New Horizons Save Data To Another Switch

Hyper_Hippy69

@TDRsuperstar2 People who use vulgarities tend to be more honest?! Ha ha! Seriously? Is that what you tell yourself to make you feel less guilty about swearing in front of your own kids? While you might think it acceptable to use such profanities in the presence of you and yours, at least display a modicum of decency when using open forums that other people's children are using regularly. And let's be honest, if using vulgarities in public shows one thing, it's that the user of said vulgarities lacks intelligence and respect for themselves and others.

I replied because, even though you came across as an illiterate moron with anger issues, I had hoped to be proved wrong. This has disappointed, but do you see me resorting to swearing at you? Nope, because it's a choice not an involuntary reaction.

There's a great saying from an unknown source - when it comes to thinking, some people stop at nothing. I hope for your children's sake, you think at little more before reacting. Otherwise, you'll do the world no favours with the offspring you raise.

Peace and love, angry dude. ♥️

Re: You Might Not Be Able To Transfer Animal Crossing: New Horizons Save Data To Another Switch

Hyper_Hippy69

@TDRsuperstar2 My my, aren't you an angry little boy. 🤣

See, it wasn't what you were talking about, as clearly this is a website to discuss all things Nintendo related. However, it's the manner in which you express your opinion that was unnecessary. Expressing one's opinion is cool but getting annoyed about something so minor that you resort to swearing is not and says a lot about the type of person that you are. Pity you don't utilise that energy toward something meaningful. But no, instead you opt to come on here with your bitter rants. 🧐

Re: You Might Not Be Able To Transfer Animal Crossing: New Horizons Save Data To Another Switch

Hyper_Hippy69

@TDRsuperstar2 First world problems, aye? Count your blessings, my friend, and stop whining about things that don't truly matter. People are dying from starvation and the like and you're reacting like this because you can't transfer a game save file to another hypothetical Switch? Sheesh! Dr. Gareth prescribes you one dose of reality check and another dose of humble pie...

Re: 'Nintendo Switch Do' Trademark Spotted On Official Document

Hyper_Hippy69

@dugan Or a party? Although, I'd much prefer a social 'do' than one that rearranges my already magnificent pilus offering. Perhaps, we could all get a Nintendo Switch Do prior to partying the night away sporting them for all who attend the Nintendo Switch Do and Dougie Bowser, Shigeru Miyamoto, et al, all do the conga whilst singing 'Do You Love Me' by The Contours?

Re: Nintendo's Digital Sales Are Nearly Double The Amount Of The Previous Fiscal Year

Hyper_Hippy69

With over 120 paid for games and only roughly 200gb remaining on my second 400gb Micro SD card, I'd say I've firmly cemented myself as a digital user. Beforehand, I had amassed 30 odd physical games but decided to sell them all and move onto digital only but only buy games that have been discounted at least 20% off the asking price. Why did I do this? Well, for me at least, it has enabled me to retain all the games I purchased on tiny memory cards. And not being able to resell them has inevitably led to me going back to old games later and finding a second, third, forth lease of life in many games I would forgotten about due to having prematurely sold the physical copy. No such issue for an impulsive buyer/seller such as myself.

Re: Rumour: This Year's 'Budget' Switch Could Take The 2DS Route And Ditch A Killer Feature

Hyper_Hippy69

@mercilessrobot - Indeed it does. However, you can't play the same game at the same time on different systems. The Switch that's set as the 'Primary' device will kick anyone off who's playing the same game but, for the most part, one can share the wealth. After all, sharing is caring. And as I have over 130 games spanning one and a half 400gb SD cards, that's a lot of care to go around. 😉

Re: Feature: 10 Ways The Nintendo Switch Can Have Its Best Year Yet

Hyper_Hippy69

Nintendo should simply keep on bringing a newer, more powerful and upgraded Switch out every two to three years (as is done with smarr phones but on a less regular basis) and keep the train rolling. That way, they'd be able to fulfill their hopes of having multiple Switches in each household and will allow them and third party developers to constantly expand. Say, games would be compatible with the current rendition of the console, with versions two and three being released within a five year timeline, and all games must run to a lesser or greater degree across all three variants. Once the fourth version is released after seven and a half years, the first one would be phased out with update compatibility issues (a la smart phones) but all previously brought games run/look better natively or if the developer patches them. That way, older versions that don't play games made for generation two and above will readily be passed onto younger gamers whose parents have brought the swanky new model 2-3 years from their first purchase. Which is exactly why Nintendo are playing the long game regarding NSO and the VC equivalent that's now offered and why I'd like to think Nintendo have cracked it regarding the long-term and won't have to think of a new brand name for years to come in the dedicated console arena.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 6.1.0 Is Now Available

Hyper_Hippy69

@Jawessome - The right joy con keeps disconnecting when playing in handheld mode. Tried another one I know works and the problem persists. Literally, I just have to push up the joy con ever so slightly and it disconnects. The left one also used to do it but now it only does sometimes after the right has disconnected and reconnects instantly.

Easy Soul Obtaining Glitch Exploiting Dumb A.I.!!!

If you run past the three troll just before Blight Town not far from the beginning of the game, entice them to follow you and run to the end into the wooden walkway and press 'B' to begin climbing down the ladder found on the right. Twist the camera to the right and, providing the trolls are still following you at a safe distance, and watch as they fall off one by one to their demise. You might have to go back to entice those you left behind. Regardless...Boom! 500 souls times... well, you do the math. That, coupled with the 300 souls accrued from spaying those feeble, half-naked, pink worshipping zombies types, is a nice easy slice of pie to ease the beginner's grind. If you brave down into Blight Town a tad further, (turning back from the toxic, arrowed archers sniping from afar if you're just starting out) you can add around another 800-1000 souls. That's potentially 2800 easily obtainable souls each and every run. Even killing the zombies and stupid trolls rings you up 1800 souls in super quick time. Head back up the lift, level up at the camp, then nab another mega easy 1800 before rinsing and repeating.

Side note: Also, sprinting just before the two trolls, press 'A' to jump in-between them, press it again as you land to roll away from potential hits, and one last time to roll again, easily avoiding the more violent end of the club's. Once past them, let the stamina bar recharge as you approach the third and final troll and repeat the above suggested gameplan.

Re: Review: Octopath Traveler (Switch)

Hyper_Hippy69

Firstly, I love my Switch. I'm 37 and have been gaming since I was around 8-9. Now, let me tell you, that when I say that no other console has tickled my disco man lumps as much as my beloved Nintendo Switch, I cannot express how genuine I'm being! Seriously, guys and gals, you're making me sweat here!?!?

Moving swiftly on.......

I've read many a review that's mentioned the lack of 'spine' regarding the eight separate stories and mostly in a bad way. I like the fact that it's like a small-scale and more realistic insight into a digital world. Final Fantasy always 'goes big' with the end of the world malarky. Don't get me wrong, as that's also good when the mood arises. It's just refreshingly to simply have eight beautifully told stories that only hold up in their own right but there are also seven others who could do with your help in return. No big payoff, except for the individual/s you choose to focus on during your first playthrough and those you help along your humble journey and the pleasure in knowing you made a difference. .

Anyway, I'm off to kill me some more Nazis while unloading the old stomach bag and pipes.
