Re: Talking Point: With Prices Rising, Are Your Gaming Habits Changing?

Happy_Gamer

It's going to change 2 things for me:

During the Switch Gen I tried exclusively buying physically, including indies. Due to many factors (rising costs, tariffs, weight of the dollar) I doubt I'll be as hardcore buying physical indies in Canada for these reasons.

I'm also going to be careful about what games I buy - right away. I'll be waiting for reviews and weighing on the games - like, do I really want buy Mario Tennis Deuces for $100 CAD ($70 US)?

I guess you could say I'm gonna be a tad selective when it comes to what I play moving forward. As for time spent, I doubt that will change.

Re: Random: New Pokémon Ad Positions 3DS As 'Retro', And The Internet Disagrees

Idk, when I was a kid with a Gamecube, SNES was called retro. Same for the N64 during the Wii era. Although they were 2 generations behind, its been 12-13 years since the 3DS dropped.

When does something become retro? That's hard to say. Is it the technology? The age? The public opinion? What 'retro' is would be a great article @nintendolife.

One thing that's for sure, the 3DS has 'classic' titles that define its library.

Re: Analysts Doubt 'Switch 2' Will Be Able To Top Switch's Mighty Sales Numbers

Every mother: But we already have a Nintendo at home.

The Nes outsold the SNES because people had a Nintendo at home. The Wii was a revoloution- and the right time to get a new Nintendo. There were a lot of problems with the Wii U, but one people overlook is that 'We have a Wii at home.'

There are other factors, but if Nintendo can keep the price down and keep the good games coming, then the Switch 2 will do well! Not every console needs to be the best console ever to be a good console (SNES, N64, and Gamecube).

Re: Talking Point: Does Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Need A Full Remake?

Happy_Gamer

My ideal Ocarina of Time Remake:
-Nice graphics (HD) but sticking to its own style
-A bit more control fluidity (although, having played it on NSO and N64 recently, I don't entirely see what the fuss is)
-2 Extra Dungeons (hear me out!)- In the early builds of the game we learned that there was a possible Wind Temple and Light Temple. If its a $80 game, it'd be cool to see those built and added.
-An extra village of some sort (like, maybe a Shiekah hideout where Zelda trained)
-A secret cave: An enemy and boss rush area with a secret challenging boss

Re: Soapbox: Returning To The Great Plateau In Zelda: TOTK Felt Like Coming Home

Really Freakin' Clever (a youtube) did a series by that name, highlighting clever game design and structure. I remember his Banjo-Tooie video, where he explained how returning to Spiral Mountain, destroyed and changed, impacts the player. Returning somewhere to see how it is changed in a game (or story) is an amazing feeling. Something that Final Fantasy 15 dropped the ball on. I also feel that if we knew what Breath and Tear's Hyrule was 100 years prior, then maybe we'd feel the impact of ruins even further.

Either way, returning to the Great Plateau was awesome! I'm so glad that they did not make it into a re-used tutorial area (or even the first place you dove from the Sky Archipelago.
