I'd be pretty sad if Prime 4 wasn't released on the Switch and they save it for a new console, but we got Dread so beggars can't be choosers! If that does happen I hope Nintendo would meet us in the middle and release the prime trilogy on Switch.
The feature I really hope is in Prime 4 is online multiplayer
Keep the Switch line going and test out your innovative features here while continuing to update to modern tech. There's too many people that love the ability to play their console on the go. Switch with a virtual reality component? Sensor bar like the Wii had? Some Pokemon Go like mechanism?
But also release a more powerful home console that is not portable and because of this rivals Playstation/Xbox in power.
The two consoles can share many games on their library, but are also different from one another to have games strictly for each.
Look, I love these games, but I don't want them to be remade and be charged $60 to play them again - I want them on the virtual console for like $10 like they've been available on for the past decade. The Switch can handle it and, though I'm sure the remakes would be rad, I can't support them for the cash grab that they are.
My intro to Metroid was actually off of Super Smash Bros on N64. I didn't know who Samus was, but the character seemed rad. Got into the series through Prime and Zero Mission.
I just looked at this artist's other work and it's all amazing! Nintendo, please hire them to make 16-bit games for all major franchises and print money off of them.
The Good: Metroid Dread as a surprise drop while everyone was expecting Prime 4. The game is SO smooth and was a much needed jolt for a hungry fanbase. Complete surprise announcements that delight fans of large franchises and don't feel forced are to be celebrated.
The Bad: Death of the Virtual Console for a subscription based model. I'm still salty about this and won't purchase the online alternatives out of principle. Huge missed opportunity to house all previous consoles together and make the Switch, despite its limited power, the undisputed GOAT.

Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo's Next Console Have To Be 'Another' Switch?
Both. Nintendo has had a handheld console alongside a home console for years and I don't see why that has to end.
SNES + Gameboy
N64 + Gameboy Color,
Gamecube + Gameboy Advance
Wii + Ds (largest gap)
WiiU + 3Ds
