Re: Random: Concept Artist Antonio Demico Imagines Lil Nas X As A God In Hades

@Paraka thank you so much for all that blatant hardcore homophobia and school grade attempted gaslighting.

At no point did I say all Christians, at every point I was focused on the Christians who take sadistic pleasure in hurting my community. I never said the sadists were the leading cause of mental illness I said they were the leading cause of my community's mental illness.

If you punch me in the gut and I punch you back that's not escalation that's a neutral reaction, its self defense. To compare what Lil Nas did to vandalism, threats, destruction, physical violence things the LGBTQ+ community suffer from daily because of these sadists is absurd. The sadists are not victims!

If you were knowledgable at all on this topic you would know that one of Europe's greatest exports ever to places like India was homophobia and transphobia. There are multitudes of Hindus, Muslims, Jews and Christians who respect us and love us they deserve better than erasure as a means of weaponizing their entire religions against the LGBTQ+ community.

@Paraka I never said the blood was comparable, I'm very confused how you came to that conclusion. I said it was a tool, a means for an oppressed person to screw with their oppressors. A normal behavior of oppressed peoples is to appropriate attacks by oppressors like being called ungodly or demonic to leech away the power that fuels the attacks.

These people don't just call us demonic, or ungodly or abominations they socially and legally oppress us. These people harass us, destroy our property, beat us and even murder us. They are they leading cause of mental illness in the community, and they know and take pride in it. For Lil Nas to escalate he'd actually have to harm them, instead of them taking offense at him doing him.

This is beautiful! As unrealistic as it is I wish they'd make a whole game centered around this interpretation of Lil Nas, with him involved to infuse his style and creativity into the endeavor. Preferably with lots and lots of satanic stuff just cause the reaction to the music video has been hillarious.

@nessisonett I thought everyone knew!!!

@doctorhino where did I ever apologize for the appalling conduct of any nation? Maybe you got the wrong idea because of how I said the condemnations of China by the west rings hollow and self serving since the horrible behavior is enable by them continuing to use of Chinese manufacturing?

@Menardi the United States slaughtered hundreds natives peoples, stole their lands, forced them into concentration camps where they were purposefully starved of resources and threatened them with death if they left. They sterilized their women, outlawed their religions and cultures, abducted their children to teach them to not be "savages" AKA they brainwashed them. They broke every treaty every agreed upon and denied them citizenship and the right to vote till 1924, and that right only exited in theory for decades. No amends have ever been made for any of this.

That conduct by the United States government fulfills the UN's definition of genocide many times over. Sadly there are a lot more examples. If we want to purge the world of reprehensible behavior of nations then all nations must suffer equal treatment, and the opposition must be rooted solely in a commitment to justice.

@BloodNinja the size of the United States military budget being larger than the next 12 nations combined, its propensity for war and regime changes makes the United States threatening to China. Morality aside its logical for the Chinese to steal military technology in order to safeguard themselves.

If you were playing a game like Civilization and another nation was putting a comparable amount of money into their military wouldn't that alone make you wary of them? If they had a history in the game of using their military offensively like the United States has wouldn't that make you wary of them?

@Menardi I agree that the Chinese government has done many horrible, condemnable things, and the Chinese people deserve much better. That said there ain't no night and day difference between what western powers like The United States and Britain have done and what China has done. For the multitude of critiques and condemnations that can rightfully be made against the Chinese government, every single one of them was enabled by nations like the United States for the sake of their capitalists in maximizing their profits. If westerners had genuine concern they wouldn't be in business with China. China has done way worse things than Cuba and they've neither been invaded nor embargoed.

@doctorhino China does unscrupulous things true, but it doesn't make them unique. The United States went so low as to spy on German Chancellor Angela Merkel for about a decade. People in the West only care because they want to blame China for the consequences of their capitalists backstabbing them and agreeing to China's offer to produce their goods for far less than their domestic workforces. From the start everyone knew that China made their offer not just because they wanted money they also wanted access to superior tech which today is commonly framed as theft.

What has the United States done to earn enough trust from China for them to not to steal military tech? The United States' military budget is thrice as large, their history in the region is horrible i.e. the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the bombing of Cambodia and they have a history of toppling governments for their benefit i.e. Hawaii's, Argentina's and Iran's.

@Ashunera84 your argument is ableism wrapped in a transparent veneer of faux concern and empathy to argue that mere tools are more deserving of society's concern than people. It is proven by your blatant bad faith arguments like, "should playing baseball be made accessible to the totally blind by baseball leagues?" Disabled people like myself don't make those kinds of arguments. Such oppositional arguments are made by those who wish to portray marginalized people as irrational so as to justify partially to completely dismissing whatever it is they're saying and demanding.

Your solutions are as derivative and useless to disabled people as they are old. In all the years they've existed they've never delivered as promised.

Re: Soapbox: This Accessibility App For Animal Crossing: New Horizons Shows How Companies Must Do Better

@Ashunera84 what you're arguing is that exclusion by design is morally acceptable within society. That society at large has no obligation to ensure the maximum integration of disabled people within everyday life. That kind of thinking has always been fuel for painful, injurious and even deadly consequences for disabled people.
All a business is, is a construct a tool to organize labor. Just as a hammer isn't worth more than a disabled person's life neither is any business.
Markets are a structure, another tool within society.Just as a band saw can't drive a nail in markets can't by design deliver justice. All they can do is exploit injustice in the guise of helping for the sake of profiteering which they center not disabled people.
If a business cannot withstand society demanding inclusion by design then they are owned, structured and operated by fools. If owners refuse to do inclusion by design without needlessly passing on costs then they are ableists doing so out of petty spite and greed.

@JasmineDragon I didn't know about the zoom feature thank you so much.

@Heavyarms55 nothing substantial occurs without a loss of peace paid as the price.

@Ashunera84 should companies be able to exclude disabled people in other places like theaters? Should a theater be allowed to deny a wheelchair user access to an auditorium because there's no way up except stairs?

Why should disabled people have to expend precious time, energy and money others don't have to just to enjoy something like video games? Why is it just and acceptable they have to pay those prices when they're the least able to pay them?

Re: Capcom Allegedly Forced Staff To Work On-Site, Ignoring Japan's COVID Rules

@Dezzy that's sorta saying because the United States had some small land owners in the beginning (when voting rights were largely tied to land ownership) that the rich weren't in charge. The big difference is that in the early USA you didn't get more votes because you had more land you only got the one.

The reason Japan has a low rate of COVID deaths is because the nation unlike Capcom has taken the virus seriously. If enough companies act like Capcom that will change.

@Nintendo-or-Noth I've been on SNAP and you might not be meaning to but you ain't telling the truth. Just because prices have gone up doesn't automatically mean it's because of government borrowing.

Re: Capcom Allegedly Forced Staff To Work On-Site, Ignoring Japan's COVID Rules

GrandScribe

@Dezzy it's a labor minimizing myth that workers have less skin in the game than the capitalists they work for. It wasn't the Capcom capitalists who were put in needless danger it was the Capcom workers.

@Nintendo-or-Noth correlation does not imply causation, other things have occurred in that time like the rise of big agriculture. Big agriculture companies are capitalist so they have every reason to sell for as high a price as possible. Do you think SNAP is a voucher program? It ain't and it doesn't keep up well with food prices so people on SNAP feel inflation before most others.
